People were confused about which sermon to follow because all the preachers have preached their own point of view abt God.
But in the new testament, all the apostles have the same mentality and they preached the same gospel with the help of holy spirit.
My suggestion:
Follow jesus only.. 50 years back mobile phones is not there in all hands. During that time, how people searched God and how God spoke to them. In the similar way , now also God can guide and tell our path. So ask God. He will guide us better than anyone else

Pastor Y.Jesudian had given a good fitting response to the prosperity gospel as he is leaving is such a world who believes in BMW,AUDI, Canberra Visit etc. Go and interview any one of their church believers about the missionary challenges faced in India, and how many mission field visits in Northern India he as a pastor or his church believers had made. If there is no missionary organization in India you mean to say that, they can cater the need of India. If you had visited any mission field please post the photographs for the changes made before and after.
This question is prominent where ever the church has no missionary vision.

The objections to prosperity preaching is not about prosperity vs materialism, while the examples used may suggest as such. The topic is not about trickery of words. The objections are towards self/man-centered spiritualism with use of God as a pawn, replacing God's kingdom first and God-centered worship and neglecting of wholesome words of Christ. The objection is towards teachings which suppose godliness is for gain instead of godliness with contentment is great gain.
The objection is towards false forms of spiritualism, a false form of fight the good fight of faith. (summary from I Timothy 6: 3-15)
Those who oppose prosperity preaching are pleading with Christians to wake up and learn the difference between being Blessed spiritually vs blessed/prosperous on earth. Earthly prosperity is not a guarantee at the same levels for all believers. Neither Jesus or the apostles needed earthly prosperity or materials in order to be joyful. In the Old testament we see a come and see preaching, New testament we see a go and tell of the message of Christ and our riches in Christ. This world is only going to pass away (I John 2:17), so we are saying don't get tangled. God's kingdom will grow as mustard seed in the new testament, it does not need earthly prosperity to grow.
Being prosperous is a contentious topic, as the definition is very subjective. Prosperity is found only 1 time in the New Testament. Jesus addressed the idea of seeking even our basic necessities, as not to worry like pagans do, instead seek first the kingdom and everything else will be added to us as our Father already knows our need. We should pray for one another (Give US OUR daily bread) for God to provide for each of our needs individually and share with others, especially God's people in need, in as much as we are able to sacrificially and cheerfully able to do it. That is the essence of 3 John 2 as a greeting from John to Gaius.
*Today's worship songs are filled up with seeker friendly prosperity themes in the name of being filled by the Spirit. This is a false movement and in no way represents the early church doctrine and filling of the Holy Spirit. That is why there is so much said against this topic of prosperity preaching.*
We don't see a new testament teaching on prosperity. On the other hand, we see teachings on contentment and praying for one another. Why not let God bless automatically those whom He wants to bless for His glory? There is no commandment in the new testament to claim prosperity to progress the gospel, Christ's work is sufficient for the progress of the gospel. There are many commandments to model from Jesus' teaching towards spiritual Blessedness.
We can all however concur with the view that God able to abundantly bless us and we are not called to curse ourselves or God in our lack. Where the objection is that we are not called in the new testament to lead or use our liberty in Christ as an opportunity for the flesh.
Prosperity preaching was not preached by Jesus or the apostles, this is a new novel doctrine of the 20th century. Prosperity preaching is not being preached by the Jews who hold on to the old testament. That is what we are warning against. These are the true objections against the prosperity gospel preaching. The objection is not towards individuals/pastors (God is gracious and merciful to forgive, when anyone repents). The objection is toward the false message being preached.
Some have suggested that Jesus' death on the cross has promises for prosperity for all and good health as accomplishment of Jesus' first coming. This is a false view. If prosperity for all is assured, how can we address natural disasters and accidents? The bible says that all of creation is still groaning for the full redemption (which will only happen at the second coming of Christ). Jesus has subjected all of creation(Romans 8:20-25) to futility till His return.
The true objection to prosperity preaching, is the distraction it brings to believers from the good news of Jesus' accomplishment on the cross.
We can as believers in Jesus Christ celebrate that Jesus died on the cross and accomplished the following,
Man reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and fellowship restored through the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit
Salvation was brought to the gentiles
We have a sure message that we can pay our attention to (Hebrews 2:1)
God's gift of salvation is for the poor and the rich without any differences. This way even the rich can find mercy with God. (with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26)
Jesus and His word is the incorruptible seed. i.e. Victory over second death
The new testament, time and again warns of cavalier living and command living as sober minded, yet rejoice in Jesus. Jesus prayed for His joy to be fulfilled in us (John 17:13). This refers to the joy in the person Jesus Christ above earthly prosperity.
Are those who object to prosperity gospel selfish? Some have suggested those who are anti-prosperity are already rich and they do not want to make others rich. They allege anti-prosperity preaching has led people to be poor. The answer to these is a NO.
Bible never uses being rich or being prosperous on earth as a measure of Spirituality. God blesses His children when and however He pleases with earthly prosperity, this is not supposed to mean all for ourselves. The human heart is wicked and self seeking with sin still in the flesh. There is no new testament verse that says God protects our prosperity, however, there are verses that God preserves our soul in spite of poverty and sickness. We are called to pray for all believers for God to provide and those who have more are called to minister to those in need. There are many many other practical ways in which we can equip or help poor believers without having to compromise on the Truth.
The circumcision of the human heart is what God commanded in the old testament and it still continues today. (Deuteronomy 10:16; Leviticus 26:41; Jeremiah 4:4; Jeremiah 6:10; Jeremiah 9:26;). Our God is not partial (Deuteronomy 10:17).
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. (Romans 13:14)
What about higher studies? Is that prosperity? What about the smart phone you are using? why not the base model? Jesus or disciples never used smart phones. Luxury or requirement becomes the question of need of the hour and the value you attach to it

People run away from these preachers.
False prosperity preachers will never touch the words of Jesus where he said "Blessed are the poor. For yours is the kingdom of God."
They will never preach on the word of God in James where it says God has chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith.
And the Rich young man who returned sorrowful. They will never teach the truth which Jesus taught.
Also they skip teaching 1 Timothy 6 where Paul advised Timothy to flee the love of money and the desire to become rich. The word contentment is a word to make fun and laugh at.
Like this there are scriptures which these false prosperity preachers wish that it dosnt exist.

Nobody preaches against prosperity but preach against the *_prosperity only preachers._* Just like "Jesus only" group these are prosperity only preachers.
All the preachers 100% they quote verses like the blessing of the Lord maketh rich...prov.10:22 and 3 John 1:2 prosper as thy soul prospereth etc...
They preach prosperity and also preach against covetousness. They also preach against worldliness. They also preach against Pride of Life.
They also preach on sanctification. they also preach on holiness. They also preach on the second coming of Christ. They equally give importance to all these topics including prosperity.
But prosperity preachers very very rarely preach on all other topics. But they focus 90% on prosperity.
And these prosperity preachers avoid and hate preaching on covetousness or worldliness and pride of life
That’s the problem with the prosperity preachers.

Did Jesus did any teaching on prosperity?
Did Lord Jesus quote any verse from the Old testament and advice his disciples to be prosperous ? or did he mention a bible characters name as example of prosperity and encourage his disciples to follow his faith and be prosperous?

Yes Paul did laboured toiled by his own hands. to survive and support the weak. But he was still poor. No dwelling place. hunger and thirsty. he was not materially prosperous inspite of abundance of collection in 2 Corinthians chapter 8 and 9. if he wanted a prosperous lifestyle easily he could have had it. but he didn't for the gospels sake.
2 Thessalonians 3:8 Nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and struggle we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden or impose on any of you [for our support].
1 Corinthians 9:18 What then is the [actual] reward that I get? Just this: that in my preaching the good news (the Gospel), I may offer it [absolutely] free of expense [to anybody], not taking advantage of my rights and privileges [as a preacher] of the Gospel.
Acts 20:33 I coveted no man’s silver or gold or [costly] garments.
34 You yourselves know personally that these hands ministered to my own needs and those [of the persons] who were with me.
35 In everything I have pointed out to you [by example] that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more [e]to be envied) to give than to receive.
1 Corinthians 4: 11 To this hour we have gone both hungry and thirsty; we [[b]habitually] wear but one undergarment [and shiver in the cold]; we are roughly knocked about and wander around homeless.

Prosperity is a fringe. Why give so much importance to it when God has promised to supply all our needs ?
There are only 3 verses in the Entire new testament where the word prosper or prosperous or prosperity appears in the KJV. but today’s preachers are preaching series after series..volumes of messages on prosperity. Why ?
1. Romans 1:10
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
2. 1 Corinthians 16:2
Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
3. 3 John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

TPM never focuses on prosperity. Like every other preachers they just quote verses which tell them God prospers us... Proverb 10:22 The blessing of the Lord maketh rich...3 john 1:2 prosper as thy soul prospereth etc..And the believers are prospering. church is also prospering..
