  • So we have got to No 3 still no contruction happening but some testing and just checking the layout will work and what I have changed if anything before making a mess starting the woodwork but I will show you the new backscene for it and explain whats in my head for it. To end a bit of film to show a "big" train arriving at the station with the backscene in place (not on a board) to show the effect!!!!!.

Keep well and good luck on that roadway it will be great to see it running as you want it to like a lot of things in the hobby tweeking is the way to go.

      Hi Stuart,
      Yes watch the next one where I show the bit of running to see how it will work to a "schedule" I did enjoy doing it which is the whole point of the layout. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and its nice to see your trains given there heads for a good run unlike on this one but I do still have the loft so all is well.
      Cheers Robert.

    Hi Robert… Hope you are well. Like others have said already, there is absolutely no rush for things to be done, take your time and enjoy the process with no pressure… Regarding the Metcalf kit, I have used one on my layout and it is indeed a very good and versatile kit. As with all Metcalf kits they are good quality and great fun to build.
    See you soon matey ….. Regards… Steve 👍👍👍

      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому

      Hi Steve,
      Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and I have done a Metcalf kit before they are on the loft layout but this is a little bigger and as I will sort of have to kitbash it to make it work should be a challenge. Yes not long to Ally Pally is it.
      Cheers Robert.

    Good that you can use card kits without humidity warping. I did try the platforms from Metcalfe, they only lasted a season before a grotesque warp and twist happened. Glad to see the testing continues fruitfully and hope the foot continues to improve.

      Hi Andy,
      That was strange having your live one today but you did well getting all those viewers in and hope tomorrow is a ball. Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and I think I may spray the card bits with some clear vanish as John does and the foot is I think 90% there the walks have really helped.
      Cheers Robert.

    Great update on the end to end which is looking good and very realistic. As for that modern back scene - which I think is quite feasible because it could be a preserved steam railway running into a modern setting and we have quite a few of those in reality. ie Whitby in Yorkshire and East Grinstead in Sussex to name but a few. Keep up the good work! Malcolm

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому

      Hi Malcolm,
      Thank you for watching and you very nice comments and what I liked about the backscene was the chance of the solid part running into the photo part I just hope like in the loft I can do it. As its RTS anything and everything can run so as you will see in the next one all different trains will run. I hope you are keeping well and more updates will follow at some stage.
      Cheers Robert.

    All looking good Robert, the little wagon with a camera on to check the track is a great idea and exactly what i do, you can only get a true idea how the track is by being down at that level, thank's for showing mate...Mal

      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому

      Hi Mal,
      Cheers very much for watching and your very nice comments and yes the cube camera does show if the track is out but so does the mirror although finding it with the mirror would take a long time I think. Well you have certainly hit the jackpot with your latest video 48000 and rising well done if only we could do that with every video we do.
      Cheers Robert.

      Cheers Robert.

    I do like your end to end railway, it's nice and simple. Hope you can get up into the loft eventually, as I really miss seeing the bigger railway operating, with the DMU and whatnot. I have a new pair of Intercity Mk. 1 coaches, and they will get a run behind one extremely rare Bachmann model engine that you haven't got: NRM-owned 4-4-0 GWR tender engine named City of Truro. One 1990s main line scene coming up on the Snowball Steam Railway. Try not to turn green with envy, lol.

    You might want to fit Hornby DCC clips onnthe Points Robert, or in the alternative have droppers on both side of the point.
    Cheers,
    Michael.

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Michael,
      I do have clips on all the points so it was a bit strange the loss of power I think the point may need a good clean and yes I will be fitting droppers to every bit of track as I did in the loft because up there it made a huge difference to the running reliability to the whole layout. I thank you for watching and your very nice comments and also your reply to me so its a 350 you go there and back in I take it.
      Cheers Robert.

    hi Robert, thats has come along nicely... the test train was a great idea ... sorted out the kinks ... if you would like my noob opinion ; the back scene from up int' loft is nicer than the industrial scene ( just my opinion mate)... take your time cos you will come up with new ideas as you go along... Stay safe mate 👍🏻🚂🚃

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Neil,
      Thanks for watching and your very nice comments and choosing backscenes is always difficult the one in the loft was done that way as I was new to the hobby but printing out all those A4's was very expensive and as you saw to make it a little bit more believable stuck the id scenes on it so on this one I wanted to make the area look bigger and try and make the solid bit run into the flat bit can I do that I do not know but will give it a good go so hence the "solid ground not grass I thank you for your thoughts on it and hope if I can do what I want you may change your mind!!!!. I hope you are all well there and having as much fun with your end to end as I am.
      Cheers Robert.

    Good film Robert ..Have you thought about a fence between the layout and the back scene to give a sense of depth of the waste ground on the photo. Just a thought Robert . Apart from all that it`s coming together well Robert.

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Allan,
      I hope to do more than just a fence as with the unloading shed I need to show an entrance to it and the surface which is different than the waste ground and a lorry so can I do it I have know idea we will have to see. As always thank you very much for watching and your super comments and hope you are now in the market for a new video for us all.
      Cheers Robert.

    That back scene looks great. All coming along nicely. Just a thought, where you stand your computer on that pulled out draw, have you thought about opening both doors on the cabinet and standing a board across the top of the opened doors? this would lower your computer a bit and give you a wider desk area.

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому

      Hi Roy,
      Now thats a cracking idea just had a look and yes it could work but would need a deep board so that the lid can open back enough to see when I am standing which I think will be most of the time but yes will see if I can do it and as always thanks very much for watching and your super comments.
      Cheers Robert.

    Hi Robert hope your well and the foot is getting better every day. That back scene is great is it paper or a plastic coated one. Glad the plans and testing is going well. Colin

    • @robertstrainset6556
      @robertstrainset6556  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Colin,
      Cheers for watching and your very nice comments and the foot is indeed getting better just need to keep the walking going and I think not only is it helping the foot but the rest of me to. The back scene is vinl so should be ok out there and it was only a couple of pounds more so well worth it. Yes getting near to the woodwork stage so just need some dry weather to get outside as far to messy to do inside. I hope you also are well and your rather large undertaking is going well also.
      Cheers Robert.
