When my wife and I finish a game of Tsuro, we always like to trace our paths back from end to beginning and admire each others. It's always fun to see how twisty and elaborate they get. Great playthrough and the set looks amazing
Between this and the new Castles of Burgundy it seems being excessively ridiculous and charging a huge amount of money for something that's not needed is the new hotness.
I can see people wanting this, much like some who collect other types of works of art. it's a very nice display piece that is also functional. Personally, I'm waiting for a deluxe version of Rising Sun with a marble inlay board and gold-trimmed jade figures. 😉(No, my personal priorities wouldn't justify buying that either.) Thanks for the video, it was enjoyable to see and provides some ideas for making one's own customized Tsuro game.
Your sweater and fireplace go so nicely in the background with this kind of game. Is it actually chilly where you are, or was that just ingenious theming? :) Also, thank you for this game intro. I can see this as a centerpiece in a living room or study. Gorgeous!
Wow...$428 for a game! I mean...looking at the quality it doesn't seem to be over priced but it is a lot of money! At this point it seems like one of those extremely expensive chess sets, it's more of an art than a game :D
I think this is a wonderful set. People who love this game should be able to get this without criticism, just like buying any other treat for yourself. BGG has a great "blueberry bagel" video on that. I think this game would make a gorgeous centerpiece in a room. Almost everyone has certain things we love and cherish and want to "luxuriate". :)
What a beautiful game. I can see that the price may mean it's not for everyone, but as of this writing they already have 400 backers and have reached their target so good for them. Thanks for posting the playthrough!
It's absolutely lovely. I specially like the tiles, because the pieces look very alike for someone like my grandma for instance that can't see the details so well. However the price is too much and I ended up cancelling my pledge.
The components look great. I would have liked your comments on those more. I play the game on the App. The deluxe edition would make for a great conversation piece
Tsuro of the Seas is my favorite version. It's essentially the same as the base game, but with the addition of dragon tiles that move independently (based on dice rolls, and different from the dragon in this game) that act as hazards that can sometimes destroy tiles, opening new paths. Such a shame this version doesn't include the 10 dragon tiles and a set of dice needed to play that mode.
Over the past couple years I have purchased several copies of this game (to give to friends who come to play and like it so much that they want their own copy). My daughter has the Phoenix version but I like the original better. Now ... I have a serious question for you. My wife has dementia and Tsuro is one of the very few games she can and will play. However, the tall stone tablet player tokens kept falling over all the time so I got some small plastic cars in different colors from the Game Crafter so now we say we are driving on the road. My question is this: are these metal pieces tippy - they look like they might be. If they tip over too easily the game would not work for us. Thanks for your wonderful video (as all your videos are).
This version is gorgeous and is obviously as much furniture/decoration as it is game. $350 is on par with a modest luxury chess set, and I think this fills the same niche. My only question is--did you guys get to keep it after the runthrough?!
The game is simple and easy to play. As much as the Deluxe version looks beautiful, it is extremely pricey for such a simplistic game. If it were at a $200 price point I could maybe see jumping in on it but at the price of some bigger and more complex games, it is not worth the investment except for the truest of fan.
The money sunk into this would feed a family of four for a mon… wee… da… Emm would give one person in the family a potato they could eat slowly given inflation.
Ceramic tiles? Really, they went with ceramic tiles that you have to find a way to shuffle, that up to 4 players will handle, it will be so easy to chip off a corner or even to break in several pieces if they fall off the table. And if you break even or chip 1 tile, their goes your $350 investment, good luck trying to sell it after that. That was a hell of a brain fart of an idea.
$350 + $78 shipping? I love Tsuro and it looks fantastic. but $350? I think I will have to pass. I could buy a boat load of games for that amount. Thanks for showing us the game.
I get why they would pick Tsuro, but a game that really requires 4+ people to play properly doesn't seem to fit the super premium idea to me. I think doing this with a game like onitama would be much more satisfying.
castles of burgundy: we're going to make it deluxe with nice boards and miniatures
Tsuro: hold my beer
Too good! 🤪
It's beautiful and I like the game a lot. I used to own it, in fact. But $350 is crazy expensive for a game this light :)
Don't forget shipping.
But on the plus side, when archaeologists excavate your family's tomb in 1000s of years, they might think you were royalty
@@terryskinner5436 LOL, too good!
Totally fair, this one is very audience specific.
there's a $10 pledge tier...
'Support the project for no reward, just because it speaks to you.'
@@ekurisona663 Is that “imbecile tier”?

Big fan of Tsuro (& High Seas) but this version sort of reminds me of Rock Paper Scissors Deluxe Edition by Dragon's Tomb
Too cool as usual, I adore you guys, and how beautiful is this set!! 2:34, Navine's scoff is too funny!
LOL didn't even realize I did that!
"I get the sense that someone's following me" 😂😂
Just think how many board games you could buy for this price
Definitely a luxury copy. 🎩

Love your content! Always a joy to watch. 🥰😁
"Very dense...." This made me laugh. Great video!
A comprehensive review about another great product, we adore your content as always and look forward for the next one. 👏👏
Well played, Levine. This is fun game, but I find it better with more than two players.

Thanks! We are in California but filmed this one early in the morning before going to work, so it was 'cold' per our standards haha. ❄️

$350???? WHAT?
🏷😱
That looks really amazing.
Thanks for watching!!
Where can i buy one of these games? 🥰😍
i like the fancy tiles but would miss the stones!
This is the epitome of unnecessary kickstarter to me. I absolutely love upgrading games...but $350 for this? Absolute insanity.
Totally fair, I think when they undertook this endeavor they knew it would push boundaries.
This version is gorgeous and is obviously as much furniture/decoration as it is game. $350 is on par with a modest luxury chess set, and I think this fills the same niche.

Wow, that's fancy.
🃏It would be cheaper to fly to California and play your copy! LOOOOOL
😆 ✈️ 🎲
I deluxify most of my games but I usually spend less than the game is worth. $350 for a game that ends in 15 minutes is crazy.
They could have and should have gone with actual stones just like the first game. The dragon/phoenix pawns are nice but miss the mark

@@tozmom615 not sure your point and for $350 I could feed my family for a month.

They're not ceramic though, they're resin. And you shuffle them by putting them in a a bag.
@@dshannon23 I stand corrected, thank you.

Sadly the boat probably won’t have fuel in its engines to deliver those games, unless it is a sail boat.
These days, it's like 1-2 other KS games
No amount of silk bags or metal pawns will make Tsuro a game I'd prefer over Indigo.
Very lovely game but I have to put gas in my fuel tank to go and earn pennies so I can eat. But very nice to look at.

$350 bucks for a filler game? LOL GTFO.
Luxury for sure.
I mean, Tsuro is fun and all...but holy crap it does not deserve this much bling.
Is this a sponsorship video? 😅
17 seconds into the video they say this playthrough is sponsored. The details for the video also say the video is sponsored.
@@Stillnothereanymore but how can we be sure?
In sponsored videos they don’t give their opinion which is the case here.
Not a fan of this game....basic or the suped up version
Totally fair!
$ 350 and shiping ($150) - LOL - How stupid!
overproduced, still too simple kids game
Lol totally fair
what a waste
