"I love zombie dice no one is ever in a big lead everyone is in it at the same time"-Will *Ryan pulls out 10 brains first go*
Whobuyedbob ACHIEVMENT UNLOCKED!
Even Zombie Can Win A Jackpot! - 50 points.
Score 10 or more brains in a single turn.
i got 12 in 1 turn with 2 shot :3
Now try to get 13 brains in 1 turn...
Филипп Виноградов oki ^^
how about the shot ?
Whobuyedbob It's kinda like karma. Ryan seems like he's playing for fun, they goad him to make him lose, but he keeps trying to have fun, and wins.
I love how Ryan had no idea what he was doing, yet won EVERY SINGLE TIME XD
He's naturally very smart. I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing most of the time..
+Diksha Maheshwari I feel like you are referencing is ethnicity
+Goob65 not at all. I'm a big fan. I've watched enough stuff to know he's not only creative with his scripts but quite spontaneous off script too😊
Diksha M. Clique r
Cuz he's the shit!
And from that day on Ryan Higa was placed on Wheaton's ban list for table top games for using witchcraft
Bob jones lel
Bob jones lol
Hahahahaa!!!! Give him back!!! Give him back!!
SORCERY!!! >:v
It's actually ninjutsu
Will "Zombie dice is a game where it is impossible for someone to have a major lead". Ryan: Try me
But then again Ryan went to Hogwarts
Ryan: I see the council's made a decision but seeing as it's a stupid decision I refuse to follow it
10 years later and still coming back because this episode is still insane
sameeee
All of Ryan's fans watching this video must be so proud of him and his skill.
JoeShmit of cause
lotsov phan ?
JoeShmit And luck, don't forget the luck
Raven Knight Vincent Luck is no excuse - HolyHeXor!
Ok?
Ryan's strategy: make it look like he doesn’t have one, when he’s actually seriously thinking about it :) …except for the zombie dice which is pure luck :D
Luck nothing, that guy is a witch!
Zombie dice is not a game of pure luck-you have to decide when to stop rolling and cash in your gains. Each roll of the dice itself is random, but the decision to stop or keep going at every turn has momentous impact, because if you keep going too long you lose everything you would gain that turn; and if you stop too early, you gain less than what you could have (and adversaries playing more optimally will beat you).
Clearly, if you decide to roll 10 times every round you play, no matter what, that's a losing strategy as you are expected to get shot 3 times in a large number of rounds.
On the other hand, if you decide to always roll one time each round and stop, no matter what, quite likely you will accrue a smaller number of brains than by rolling two or three times in some rounds.
If you had to decide before each turn how many times you would roll, it might be that there would be a fixed sweet spot of rolls with the higher expected return of brains; and optimal strategy would be to play this number of rolls every time. But since you can stop in the middle of a series of rolls, cashing in your hitherto gains, this complicates the matter-conditional probability kicks in and information about past rolls (how much you won-brains; and what is your accumulated risk exposure so far this round-shots) makes a difference in your decision if it is worth to keep going.
Additionally, different decisions might be made under different game conditions when deciding to go on or stop any given series of rolls. For instance, we see that in his game, Wheaton decided to stretch his round dangerously long, even though he had a likely higher-than-average number of brains to cash in, and the best decision under neutral conditions might be to stop. However, given the particular state of that game, in which it was already decided that Ryan would win next unless Wheaton would tie up the game, it made sense for Wheaton to go all-in and risk it. So, different games might lead to different decisions for an otherwise equal series of previous rolls in a turn, when you take into account the state of the other players.
To bring in an extra layer of complexity, you have three different types of dice, with different probabilities of rolling a bad event (the shot), so the remaining die/dice from your last roll also gives you some particular information that can influence your decision to stop or keep rolling-having to draw one die from the bag to complete a set of two red dice is not the same as having to draw one die to complete a set of two green dice: the latter case is much more favorable to the player.
Despite all that, even so, the basic problem this game confronts the player with is the same that a casino player or a stock market investor faces: how to play the variance in a random series over a number of bets-when to stop and cash in gains, and when to risk it all by going ahead further. And just like the joke about the bear and putting on sneakers to run away, you don't just want to maximize your gains, but instead make sure you're ahead of your competitors.
The mechanics of the game are delightfully simple-you can teach a five-year-old to play-but the underlying game problem has great depth. And the added game-play mechanics spice/complexity (die colors, and _runner_ results) is pretty nice.
Haha. Ryan said "Never Say Never 3D" (which has a three in it). He won 3 times at 3 games- the last game he won with 3 remaining limbs in the 3rd episode of Table Tops.
~ Just had to sum up the comments/reality/conspiracies.~
HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!!!
Yobros Gaming ILLUMINATI!!!
Remus Lupin HALFLIFE 3 CONFIRMED
Remus Lupin Also the character that the username of the person pointing this out was named after first appeared in the 3rd Harry Potter book.
***** And the third response to the comment was by someone who had "3" in their username.
I will find Ryan where ever he is and take him to Vegas with me...
Can I come too? I need to use ryan's special 'abilities' in Vegas too.
funny, he actually lives in vegas hahaha
***** Actually that is genius on his part.
***** Explains alot actually. thank you for that
actully i would say its more *injeanish* if you know what i mean
"Rod is an accomplished scuba diver."
The flippers laughed so hard, they fell over :P
He was swimming towards the shark when he was supposed to swim away i can understand why this happened
lol I wonder why Ryan Higa has yet to make another appearance on Tabletop...
He was burned for being a witch
Pikmin 2005
Uuhhhhhhh
JosephKerr27
Cuz he kept on winning... 😂😂😂😂
As soon as Ryan won Zombie Dice, I was cheering for him all the way through Get Bit!. Three straight wins, yo. Suck it, Wil!
I refuse to believe that Ryan is anything less than a Wizard after watching this.
I love that Ryan won all the games
Actually the more u guys hate Ryan the more chance that Ryan will win
This just proves that Ryan is amazing and psychic.
"All of these dice will be green."
The art of not knowing what your doing but knowing that you are doing it really well. LOL
intelligence is knowing what you are doing
skill is doing it well
This was my favourite table top episode ever, love it. Bring back Ryan again.
One does not simply play games with Ryan Higa.
One loses games to him
They misplayed Get Bit.
When bit, your robot is thrown to the front of the line. This is why Freddie was bit so repeatedly.
I think Wil would know how to play since his friend designed the game.
EagleAndWolf Well you thought wrong. The rules are easily Googleable and yes they did mess up. Not that it matters. I just hate how snarky you're acting when you're clearly wrong.
I was already wondering how it was a game. You can compare picking the card to rolling a dice, but with choosing a lower number has higher chance of you still keeping at the shark, and you don't move when someone has the same number... so you stay in last.
3 games, 3 wins, 3 limbs
gasp~! :O
Illuminati...
Huh. I'm surprised nobody's jumped to the Half-Life 3 crap.
MajorLeagueGamer838 oh wait! half life thr.. uhh nvm. XD
half life 3 confirmed
HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!!!
7:25 is still my favourite quote from all of this. "You may have looked 30 moves ahead but you neglected to look 31"
I think I am drawn back to this video every 3 years
All hail Ryan the wizard.
31:28 Ryan I want to thank Will...Smith - HaHaHa
+Mark Penick To me, the best part by far is Wil's facial expression progression through those seconds.
LEGEND Ryan the Wizard
Lesson for the day? Ryan makes an excellent zombie... he'll use magic... he'll get all the brains... and he'll destroy a planet somewhere while doing so
There is a tiny part of me that thinks this is scripted and complete bullshit but then again Ryan is "Super High School Level Bullshit Goodluck" so it could be completely legit at the same time.
Briana Ayres ayyyyyyyyy danganronpa fan here, and Nicob Fan
Who will script a stupid dice game? Its not like there is something at stakes here anyways. They play the game, overreact a little bit and I think they record the cuts in between after the game which may be a little bit scripted like "What strategy you used? If you havent think of something funny on the topic.".
Well, my luck was as bad as his was good. The first game I ever played I rolled 3 green shotguns on the first turn lol.
This might be really late but the probability of rolling three green shotguns on the first turn is the probability of drawing three green dice (6/13 * 5/13 * 4/13) times the probability that you would roll a shotgun on every die(which is a 1/6th chance so (1/6)^3 or 1/216)) which is = 5
/19773
In other words, a 0.0002% chance.
Just as likely as unlocking an iphone with random combinations while only making 2 guesses.
Tarmin Slingerfinger I know that the exact statistics would take forever, since you’d need to consider the color of each of Ryan’s die, but could you make an estimate of the odds of getting 10 brains in one turn like he did? Even if we assume all dice have the same number of shots or something.
Sorry, I’m just really curious and bad at math at the same time lol
damn you will wheaton. Because of you, I've spent over hundreds of dollars on board games. But what I get out of them is worth every penny. So thank you will wheaton.
I personally think this is the best table top episode, not only for the fact that Ryan won all 3 games nonchalantly, but also stuff like 20:53 happened lol.
How is this 10 years old, I watched this when it came out :/
Straight up felt like a fossil when i read 11 years ago
I miss this show...
"Ryan is cheating, RYAN IS USING MAGIC!"
Am I the only one that found that hilarious?.......
Ryan simply understands how to gamble. It's no about any special knowledge, because knowing your odds actually works against you. I played craps with a friend and his brother one time, and made off with close to thirty bucks when my friend paid to put me in the game just to take more of his bro's money. It's all confidence, channeling the positive mojo, and Ryan clearly has that going for him.
Luck is the enemy.
I didn't see Ryan's last card, but it looked like Will still had 2 limbs left at 29:02 when he said Ryan wins.
q it is because if you listned it said that it was last round (2 players left) so if you lost that round no matter if you had all your limbs even you would lose
its called blind dumb luck nothing more.
Knowing your odds works against you, but channeling your "positive mojo" helps? I hope you realize how stupid that sounds...
Assuming my statistics are correct the the probability of the dice rolls and dice selection Ryan had in his first turn was 3.357547x10^(-16), fun fact this is less likely than winning lotto 6 49 on your first go where the probability is 9.932116x10^(-11)
Then factor in that he guessed his dice colors right each time... unbelievably improbable.
Jesse Moore
Well actually something I noticed when doing the math is that when he did shout out the colour of the dice the colour he shouted out sometimes had a greater than a 50/50 chance of being chosen. Although impressive that he did manage to predict the colour(s) that were selected, his predictions do not depend on previous draws, merely what is available at each draw. Since the selection of dice, and in the particular order that they were selected in, was factored into my calculations this has already been accounted for in a way. You could also view his prediction at each dice selection and the actual dice that were selected as independent since the outcomes don't depend on each other (predicting a colour is selected does not influence that colour being selected) and as a result his predictions do not impact the selection of the dice.
/r/theydidthemath XD
Factor in after guessing the die and rolling well. It has a profound effect on the rest of the players. Which can affect the way they attempt to roll.
I just want to say that this video is the one that introduced me to TableTop. Thank you.
"...and of course, Wil....L SMITH"
Busted out laughing.
I was teaching someone Zombie dice and rolled 13 on the first turn. He's never played it again.
Thank God you were 'Teaching' him the game instead of playing it officially!
Another planet has collapsed
@@noodeenarak2360 wow, these guys are magicians
I would have liked this comment but it already has 69 likes and i dont wanna ruin it
Ryan Higa won triple crown
Came here for Ryan Higa
Same.
Same
Same
Aye
I loved his description of what he does lol
What we have learned from this video: Ryan Higa is a wizard!
This is where all of Wil's bad luck in future seasons comes from. It is the universe balancing itself.
Wait.....what....wow Illuminati!
Ryan:
Said 3D
Won 3 times
Played 3 Games
Had 3 limbs in get bit
And this happened on the 3RD episode
Are you kidding me?
Antonio Luis I can't believe how lucky Ryan was during this episode LOL.
I know right! Geez..
Antonio Luis illuminati confirmed xD
+kate summers true
Have you seen his illuminati video ! I wondered how he knew about that
11:46
"No one ever gets huge lead in Zombie Dice."
Oh, the irony...
"Fun Fact, Rod is an accomplished scuba diver."
*Scuba feet fall off the shelf*
That moment killed me XD
"I want to thank Wil...... l Smith. "
8 years after this video went up, I *finally* bought Tsuro, completing my set of games from this episode.
Will: "Zombie dice is a game where it is impossible for someone to have a major lead"
Ryan: Hold my dice
Ryan is just... wow
I miss this show
Note to self: never play Ryan at anything ever. At least not for money.
You're a wizard, Ryan.
The confidence Wil has throughout the video is hilarious considering he's beat out by Ryan EVERY DAMN TIME!!!
"I'll have no arms or legs to move around, but at least, the fish will be my friends." Poor Rod.
Ryan = OP
please nerf
Jk. Have to say, Ryan was making me laugh so hard along with Wil and Freddy.
Tsuro and bite me look amazing! Also wills face when Ryan said will Smith,,,, Lmao!
13:32
Damn, he was quick on his feet with that quip.💀
I refuse to believe that after recording this Ryan didn't find a first class ticket to Las Vegas where he bankrupted a casino winning all the games.
01:15 : Tsuro
10:20 Zombie Dice
19:28 Get Bit!
It's so funny how Ryan didn't know what he was doing and how the games work, yet he STILL CONTINUED TO WIN ALL THREE!! I love Ryan so much.
It's a fact, Ryan is indeed, a dark wizard.
Did ryan make those flippers fall? O.O
Aww I miss this show :\
the new season is already recorded and coming soon. read Wil's blog
1:09 AM on a Saturday and I am watching 4 grown men play tabletop games.....life is AWESOME!
Ryan's a witch? awesome, now im even more proud to be his lamp! X D
I prefer Tsuro of the Seas! Where you play as boats and there are actual dragons "flying" around the map trying to eat everyone! Adds a little twist to regular Tsuro =]
Please bring this show back
The whole company got bought, and then the company that bought them shut them (Geek&Sundry) down.
Would be great to get Ryan Higa in for another episode, and watch him destroy everyone again.
Poor Freddie got crushed every time lol
This show is amazing. It's making me want to go and buy all these different types of boardgames!
Ryan Higa also know as Satan
This is my favorite episode
That shark have some serious iron deficiency...
Game play level: Ryan
This is definitely my favorite tabletop of all time. I use it on a playlist to go to sleep. ;)
29:35 The best part of this interacting is that because Rod turned around he thought everyone was laughing at his fake out when everyone was actually laughing at Ryans reversal
My text tone is the Star Trek communicator noise... I checked my phone when the video played it and was confused I didn't have a text...
Then I remembered who was in the video...
where did you get the brains for zombie dice??? geek & sundry
Heidi Furgason I found them at Walmart for ten bucks
Ryan is so physic. He's what made the scuba gear fall. "TA-DA" 😄
"Most've it was luck"-ryan
"Oh Come On!"-wheaton
Hahaha
hay where did you get those brain markers for zombie dice?
most legendary masterclass in the history of this show
I +1 the idea of changing the name of the show to "beat Wil" or at least adding it in.... "Tabletop: beating Wil Wheaton at:
i never get tired of watching this ep! ryan is awesome
This is still the best episode of tabletop
I came here from a video of cards against humanity for Ryan tbh.
Ryan is overpower. Need to nerf him a bit. make his attack 1/10 and not 1/6. Raise freddiew hp from 2000 to 3500. Now will need his int increase from 800 to 1200
This feels like going back in time
Where can I get these? 14:30 ....
plus.google.com/+WilWheaton/posts/PKt2ifcnAR9
I just love this episode, I have seen it many times and I continue watching it.
For Get Bit, Don't you move to the front when you get bit by the shark? then you take all your cards back.
You are correct. They were playing it wrong all along. It's not the first time they've botched the rules, I suspect.
Eric Amick I don't think they've ever managed an episode of tabletop with actually playing all the games properly.
to be fair, everyone else follows the same rules
regardless of rule, it is still entertaining
especially that reaction from freddie when ryan owned him
31:15 Wil will now spend 5 extra bucks just for you Ryan. Be proud.
This is my favorite episode by far
14:38 'approaches infinity'? If it 'approaches' infinity, then it won't be approaching infinity... there's a concept behind that I'm too lazy to explain it all
It's just to explain such a statistically improbable event to simple Joe viewers without having to show something like 0.00000052% (Not the actual statistic, just a example number.) and take up space. No need to get persnickety.
Actually, due to the sheer numbers of it all, it's impossible to calculate the EXACT percent likelihood... though to paint a picture of it, it's around the same odds as two competing poker players both getting royal flushes of the same color (ie spades vs. clubs or hearts vs. diamonds).
so, its not very likely?
NotAGoodUsername360 Actually, due to the sheer amount of free time I have right now... it's 3/8935094234626560 or ~3.358x10^-16 Chances of drawing the dice he did, and chances of rolling what he did on each color of die were both taken into consideration.
Your two double color flushes (using straight poker rules) clocks in at ~ 1.806x10^-12... just over 5000 times more likely than what Higa pulled off... and that's not including his second hand.
Point of course is that the average viewer has no idea what the hell 3.358x10^-16 actually means, so they went with the exaggeration.
Man, geek and sundry had such good stuff for a while, and then it just tanked hard.
Wil: Zombie Dice is awesome. No one ever gets out to a huge lead. Everyone’s in the game from the beginning to the end.
Ryan: 10 Brains Turn 1.
Ryan was legit the BEST tabletop player I have ever seen
It's Ryan's jacket, it's magic
Ryan higa illuminati confirmed
I don't really know what that suppose to mean
Ryan is truly the king of games
And that's how he bar came so famous. His incredible wizard skills.
Never Say Never, 3D
I think they hate Ryan now
