Makes me wanna crawl under a rock when I think of how I was eating as a vegetarian/vegan😱. I was that person eating loads and loads of nuts. Almost 4 years animal foods eater now. All gut issues gone. All skin issues gone. My receding gum grew back beautifully. No more crashes and the need for daily siestas. No more constant hunger!! 1-2 meals a day. My food bill is so much lower now.

We own and run a family butchers since 1973.
I'm carnivore and have always done extreme sports (I'm now 50).
However, we are slowly going bankrupt due to the lies that the medical industry, along with MSM and government are telling people in regards to the product we sell.
It literally drives me crazy how misinformed and naive the general public are.
Over the next decade meat will disappear completely unless farmers, retail outlets and people in the meat trade have a huge push back to save the only nutrient dense food source on the planet.
    MEAT to live.

MONTH 2 UPDATE: So I began eating strictly carnivore for the first couple weeks. I started June 27th. Prior to this I had dairy and gluten intolerance, also have allergic reactions to mushrooms, potatoes, beans, rice, literally almost everything, oats, gluten free oats. Weight 94lbs at 5’6 female. Extremely frail, and malnourished. Skin issues, hair issues, digestive issues, while eating EXTREMELY “clean” diet. Anyways, after the first couple weeks, I noticed skin improvements, my scalp was finally producing sebum, I always had a dry scalp. I started eating grass fed yogurt and kefir just for probiotics, then I noticed I was really improving because I was allergic to dairy before and now I’m able to eat it without problems. I started eating RAW cheese made from unpasteurized milk. I now weight 105lbs! I gained 11lbs, majority is muscle that I need for my height, and normal amount of fat for a female. My natural frame is slowly being rebuilt because I was SO underweight. I noticed that I have a different body odour, it’s not as strong, it almost smells like what normal sweat should smell like. I don’t even use deodorant as much as I used to, l really don’t need it. Also my period cramps have reduced DRASTICALLY, wasn’t even expecting something like that to change. My eyebrows also got fuller, I don’t know if it’s due to the way I’m eating or because I use beef tallow as my facial moisturizer now. Either way animal based is the route to take. Anyways, I’ll update anymore changes next month.

GREAT interview I like that way back then that people were "THRIVING" not just surviving and the fact that there are any humans left on planet earth was all due to their food source "MEAT" which I think was in great abundance and they had the skills & tools to hunt, you never just see one buffalo on its own, there was herds of them. it's amazing how every animal instinctivly knows what to eat, and the humans are stuggleing to remember what they once thrived on, and that in the wild there were no super markets of convenient pretend foods. I guess the tables are turning to our favour and we are now remembering and returning to how we use to eat.I'm sure we will live longer and happier lives when you can think about other things and not just about food all the time, in fact you just might need a timer to remind you that you need to eat, thats how satisfying meat is that you now have space and time to think about enjoying your life and really living.🥩🥓😋😂

I saw a movie based for n the assumption that we did not know for a long time how to create fire. It’s called Quest for Fire (1982). The tribe had a man responsible for carrying the embers when they migrated. It’s one of those critically acclaimed movies that didn’t make it big at the box office and I’ve never seen it shown on other venues. Truly worth watching.

Having been largely raised as a meat eater in Africa when I was young I always knew it was the way to go but when I moved to the UK in my twenties I got sucked into the carb prison over time. The main problem I see with Dr Bill Schindler's take on the human diet is that it is largely based on the Evolutionary Biology view which in itself is yet another hypothesis as he says Archaeology is. I would prefer a more definite foundation. How about Devolutionary Biology? It would explain a lot more things

Thank you Dr. Chaffee for bringing on your show Dr. Bill Schindler. We tend to wax poetic about an ancestral way of eating and living, and to many outside of the carnivore/paleo/ancestral community, they look at us as as if what we are saying is a distorted and romanticized version of our past. While there is some truth to that, there is a lot of science to backup our advocacy for emulating some of the dietary and lifestyle practices of our ancestors in our modern world. Dr. Schindler is a great resource to buttress the case for this idea.

Modern fruits and vegetables were hybridized over hundreds if not thousands of years, and did not exist millions of years ago before we ate grains and farmed. Even older paintings show watermelon that looks different from today.

When corn and pellagra and Europe and Irish potato famine were brought up, I remembered learning about how Irish peasants did not historically experience famine nor dependence on one food stuff before the South American/New World potato was brought back to Europe. Of course, the Irish Potato Famine is a lot more complex with nefariousness and politics and manufacturing collapse. But a point can be made that when humans become dependent on one type of food, especially a nutritionally subpar plant food as toxic as say, potatoes, those humans then become easier to manipulate and starve.
Thank you for the brain candy, gentlemen!

Fascinating interview/talk. Effin luv Bill's attitude, passion and approach to his subjects of interest.
I too have been thinking, for years now, that our hunter ancestors weren't merely surviving but thriving, due in part to their diet, but also to their social ways of living, and so on. Then, the agricultural revolution came, and, at least in my view, everything started going downhill, for humans, 'and' for the rest of the living and all ecosystems.
So I'm glad that we as a species are rediscovering what made us who we are before the beginning of the fall, such as our species appropriate diet, etc. I hope we keep rediscovering our roots in all aspects of life so we start thriving once again as a species and also stop annihilating every other species...ok, enough or I'll just begin ranting on and on.😊

Great discussion, as always. I'm glad that the fact that plants needs to be processed iin a certain way just to make them edible was brought up. And, just like the case of maize (corn), beans also must be processed before consuming (soak at least 12 hours, discard rinse water, and preferably repeat). But as Dr Schindler said, the food manufactures don't do that -- they just put the plant matter 'as is' in the manufactured "food" products that most people consume. No wonder all kinds of degenerative disease is rampant.
But even if the plants are processed properly, they're still not something a human would want to consume. At least not in the insane large quantities that most people eat them these days.

The avg man was something like 5’2” and the women 4’8”
Have heard many say was because of bad diet ?
My time in Honduras the fish carvings in places like Copan and the locals I would talk to there many said river fish was a huge source of food for them along with coastal fishing ? The Paya or Pech of parts of honduras relied much more on meat and fish than the Corn again local folks from the University were saying they were larger than many of the other Mayan ? Have to now wonder if it was based more on the higher meat content of the northern Mayans ?

As per the scientific definitions.. a carnivore is any creature that eats over 70% of its diet from animalia. Humans are definitely carnivores. Even coyotes will sometimes eat berries or something when it's around. That being said, most people getting on a carnivore diet have broken bodies and need to go to the extreme to reverse the damage.

I ate carnivore for 2 months. Eczema dissapeared and I felt stable. However, I hit a point where I was cold, had low energy, libido etc. i think I had low thyroid. So I added in under 100g carbs a day in form of fruit/tubers and that made me feel great again. But now I want to see if I was doing carnivore wrong. I think I maybe wasn’t eating enough fat to protein ratio, even though I was topping my steak and meat with butter, ghee, talllow to large amounts. Anyone have any pointers? Why did I have low thyroid symptoms that went away with the addition of low-moderate carbs???
Moreover, after listening to the bioenergetic side of diet, there’s the argument that gluconeogensis is a stressful state utilising cortisol Adrenaline and glucagon, a fallback mechanism for when you aren’t consuming any carbs. What do u guys think about this argument? Is it that if u have enough fat and not too much protein, you don’t need to dip into gluconeogensis due to burning ketones exclusively???
Any other info u think of please comment.

    • @svst3767
      @svst3767 2 роки тому

Modern ppl have a rather stressful life (chronic stress) therefore e.g. intermittent fasting and zero carb could have a negative effect on cortisol levels.
Some carbs esp. consumed in the morning and around (hypertrophy) workouts could mitigate this issue. Since in the morning and after workout insulin sensitivity is highest (also due to GLUT4 mimicking insulin) that’s the best time to consume carbs (50 gr in the morning carbs with high GI and 50 -100gr after workouts mixed high and low GI carbs). In regards to T3 conversion insulin triggered by dietary carbs seem to play an important role. This is especially relevant for ppl with hypothyroidism - women are more sensitive in this aspect.
If you wanna stay keto esp. carnivore it could help to make sure your electrolytes and iodine intake is sufficient. Also experiment with the amount of total calorie intake (not going below your active metabolism rate). Also make sure your fat/ protein ratio is on point - 70-80% of calories from fat. Make sure you’ve enough omega 3 (fatty fish). If you don’t wanna eat carbs on a daily base another option could be to do a carb refeed every other week. You’ve to experiment but give each approach enough time (some months or longer) to judge fairly.
Dr Chaffee mentioned on multiple occasions that the fasted/ Keto metabolism is our natural state. Following this argument we have to become highly Keto adapted - your body after only two months is not there yet as it seems.

It took me several attempts to sort out there are several issues. Missing nutrients, electrolyte issues, cortisol. Meat doesn’t have all the needed nutrients and too much iron without Copper can be a real issue. I eat dairy, and some carbs to hold onto my electrolytes. Find your carb level, keep it low and no veggies.
If all your organs don’t line up it’s very hard to go full Carnie. So you have to move slower and heal weak organs until you can go full Carnivore. Then make sure to supplement for missing nutrients or add foods.

Being french and having eaten a fair amount of blue cheese over the years, I'd definetely love to try cheese vodka 😂 Maybe if you melted the blue cheese you'd at least get close to the texture/viscosity ? 🤔 Liquid cheese (or at least melted cheese) is part of a number of dishes in France and elsewhere as well :)
