thank you for the video. what i learned: for brute and flying wyverns, carve is usually better. For fanged (=four legged), capture is sometimes better.
Thanks for the info, interesting that some are more profitable to Kill than capture. But I don't think I will stop anytime soon lol. Been used to capture everything, even if I accidentally kill I felt something off.
This information was from base rise, so it's probably largely outdated and now with anomalies and qurious crafting I really feel like anomalies are the main thing worth doing - and that requires killing rather than trapping. Thanks for the watch and comment. I appreciate it :D
@@NigiriandRune Its ok, I understand the basic that not all monster are profitable to kill/cap. Been noticing it since MH:FU but old habit die hard lol
Thanks for putting all the time and effort to make this video! I also think the timer after a hunt is excessive. There’s even a mod that allows you to skip the countdown and animation.
Thank you for the insight lol, even tho Killing is mostly better, I just like capturing more because I'm too soft to see monsters dying, specially my faves like Zinogre, I just capture them for pity lol
Hello, thanks a lot for this vid, i just started playing 3 days ago (my first ever monster hunter game) and i love delving into these things deep. One thing I've heard is that there are some mats you only get through capturing or the other way around, but it seems like you were going on about some amulet thing i prob dont know about yet
As someone new to Monster Hunter, thank you for doing the math. I have always captured because it just felt like the game intends for you to do that. But if there's not benefit (unless I'm hunting specific parts) then i guess I'll start killing.
You should put together a google doc & do every monster with the help of people n such. It'd be original & pretty cool i noticed alot of people don't really do the min max google docs for MH.
If you equip the Feather of Mastery do you get 5 carves or does it not stack with the dango carving ability, because if it does, that means you get 5 carves right?
fantastic question. I'll have to test that - probably not today since I'm about to start a full game rta speedrun of rise, but I'll try to knock out all the arenas on PC this week and test.
@@NigiriandRune people at Reddit dont listen and hold on to the past. Overall it wont matter too much but for most times its better to kill FOR MY PLAYSTYLE. Its just like you said: Its up to the player to decide and also think about their time.
This is depressing. I was wondering why I was getting less resources from captures. Thanks for the insight. Damn now I need to find a way to kill stuff quicker.
This video isn't really relevant anymore. It covers the most effective way to grind melding points in vanilla Rise. A lot has changed with patches and the sunbreak expansion that makes this method of grinding completely different. If you're looking for specific parts, you should definitely check the table and capture/kill depending on what has the highest chance of giving you those specific parts.
Rosy and Triple Rose dango fall into the category of daily dango, which is a rotation of available "special" dango. For this reason I wouldn't count on it being available.
finaly im kinda sick of everyone caping the monster all the time made me quit my favrate game because i could never finish any armor or weapon i always prefer fun because efficiency kills games y would u want to do everything u can to NOT play the game? if u enjoy the game wouldn't u want to play the game?
As you get better gear and more experience, you'll eventually get most hunts down to under 5 minutes. I personally almost always capture just because of the 60 second timer at the end taking too long.
This seems like a huge amount of effort so thank you for explaining it in detail ! ^-^/
You're very welcome!

Im a new world hunter, I definitely catch and relocate the beasties

I always use the animation skip glitch cause I just can't stand those wasted seconds. My buddies get NO pets!
There is no math needed. Just read the monster entry. If you want material A and it has a higher drop rate when you capture, then capture.
He said that in the start
Bro didn't watch the video
@@ThermoNuclearAnt that’s way too much work for every specific monster.. just kill them and get more overall
FINALLY SOMEONE DID THE MATH. THANK YOU

This is a wonderfull video of data I hope ir gets more attention because this amount of quality rocks

I always kill everything, except when playing with people, they always capture
yeah killing is way more fun than capturing
for some weapon that having hard time to cut tails, capture might get u tail
did not know capruring was a thing in mh (newbie here) thank you for the research
you can capture everything except for apexes, elder dragons, and the new afflicted monsters.
@@NigiriandRune very cool info. i did the village quests and i got past the capture quest.

@@gaspelios3340 i know it is late, but they do not stack, but you can get another carve on tail
Well as a recent enjoyer how monster hunter I shall now use this when I cant get the materials I need
He did alot of research into this, believe me
Yes he did
The people of reddit did a great job misunderstanding what I was saying, so that was fun.

thank you sir

Still gonna keep capping because it's faster and lower risk
New to the game, I was under the assumption that certain parts can only be acquired capturing, is that true?

New to this game but what weapon are you using
In this video I use a light bowgun. I made a tutorial on it back when the demo came out here: ua-cam.com/video/euAtpMQUzG4/v-deo.html
How do I get a four carve

It takes so long to kill monsters so long
As you get better gear and more experience, you'll eventually get most hunts down to under 5 minutes. I personally almost always capture just because of the 60 second timer at the end taking too long.
In short: just kill them a lot of times and you'll get better loot, end of story
