Personally, I think tour/ expedition quests are underrated. You have unlimited carts and time to do pretty much whatever you want - including a random selection of monsters to hunt. I often do these for learning monster fights and patterns, and for getting the hang of new weapons. There's so much more you can do with an actual monster than the Tetra in the Training area. While yes, you have less time before the monsters leave the locale, but that's just one downside to a bunch of positives. I think expedition quests are great for practice - on both monsters and weapons.
If I want to fight a monster, I might as well take a quest for that monster, preferably one i haven't done. I do like expeditions if you're just getting something random junk like insects for some request though.

Another mistake I seen is people refusing to heal themself. Just because someone thinks they can take on the monster and not get carted doesn't mean they can. I seen this too much where someone is in red and when the monster moves to a new area instead of healing they just straight up go to where the monster is only to cart from a signal tap of the monster. Also these kinda of players I do heal but I end up running out of the item I need to heal them so I always end up having to go restock at camp.
how about you verify that the player isnt running full resentment or even valstrax armor.... since ya know valstrax armor bonus doesnt work if you are over a certain % of HP.... nothing more annoying that getting life dusted when im about to smack the shit out of a monster for 2k damage only to get nerfed to 1200 because youre " helping me"
@@arbiter1022 With a build like that yeah the damage is great but you also need to know when to give up that buff too by healing when needed. If the monster is knocked down and is unable to attack or what ever then fine that is a completely different story. But I seen times with that armor set where someone is getting pinned down about to get carted. Then gets healed then starts getting mad at everyone for healing them when they were about cart instead of letting them cart. This can also apply when the monster is targeting you and gives you no chance to attack back. What good is that buff if you can't even have a chance to use it at the moment and would have a better chance surviving by healing and dodging instead of attacking. Some Monsters you can easily counter them when they do that but there are those who will punish you for trying. Point being if your going to use that set learn to heal yourself when needed instead of worrying about DPS and learn to accept heals by others or play offline with that armor set if you don't want heals. It is one thing to get mad when you didn't need the heal but it is a whole different story to get mad when you do need it. :Edit: Also just because someone healed you doesn't mean they were doing it to only heal you someone else could have needed healing. Can't do much about healing items that heal everyone in the group or healing horn or skills that make healing items heal everyone or healing cats. Just because you didn't want the healing doesn't mean someone else in the group doesn't. In fact why are you even playing online because from the sounds of it any form of healing will set you off. Your kinda of play style is more suited for offline not online.
One tip I would give is when you’re fighting a monster that you’re not familiar with it’s okay to play it safe at first and I would advise them to study the monster first and try to get a read on the openings. I have a tendency to play very aggressively and try to counter everything but that’s really not doable unless you really understand the monster you are fighting. It just takes time and practice to get a read on the patterns. Sometimes it’s better to disengage and play it safe and definitely don’t overuse the wire fall because some of the harder monsters will clap you if you try to get up too quickly, take advantage of the i-frames when laying on the ground or superman diving. The skill leap of faith is surprisingly useful so you can superman dive not only facing away from the target but also towards them, so at any time you can dive evade to get tons of invincibly frames
I've poured hours (actually years into monster hunter) and my tips for new hunters for rise is don't feel pressured or feel bad for not following the meta a good hunter prepares and is ready, I mean I don't run meta sets and I still get good kill times and don't have too much trouble. As the old saying goes fear not the man that practices a thousand punches 1 time but 1 punch a thousand times, happy hunting hunters👍
That’s great as long as you play solo but if you’re playing in co-op then you need a good build to either help you survive or do enough damage that it doesn’t needlessly prolong the hunt.
If youre worried about how long a hunt is taking, it's a 15 min one, you don't have much time to play, you're a speed runner, or an idiot. Fun is important. Everyone has different fun.
@@AntonsVoice Not all hunts are 15 minutes. Some things like the sieges in Iceborne were incredibly fricking repetitive and grindy, I want to get it done in the most optimal way when you’re literally forced to do it in coop. or a Fatalis hunt may take over 20 minutes. When people don’t know what they’re doing they waste everyone’s time.
@@grimreefer213 "Meta" is relative. A dude from Team Darkside killed a Silver Rathalos in 2:40 with a Safi CB back when Safi weapons were best in slot. He only had Critical Boost 2, Agi 1, some Attack Boost and attack augments. My purely defensive cat set with Defense Boost 5, Vaal set bonus and Palico Rally 5 has comparable DPS (also Safi weapon, CB3, WEX, CE7). It's not meta anymore because Fatalis weapons exist, but this doesn't mean that you can't kill Silver los in 2:40 in this set anymore. I can't, not because of the set, but because I lack the skill. Someone from TDS can.
One of the most annoying them I've ran into with randoms is that after getting hit and getting dangerously low on health they'll continue to fight instead of taking time to heal. I feel as if they are just assuming that the other hunters will carry them in the healing department. There's only so many dust of life's we can carry at one time. Just recently I had a person get swatted by magnamalo and had a quarter of their hp left. Instead of getting out of range to heal, they were wirebugged back into the fight. Where they proceeded to get smacked again, almost in the exact same way, in less then five minutes. Then the same person repeated the exact same damn thing after he got carted. Suffice to say, but this kind of behavior is aggravated.
As a Hunter who just hit past the 100 hour mark AND hit the Sunbreak portion of the game, I have just recently noticed some of these mistakes for myself and tried to fix them. The Hunter's Notes? Yep, ignored them, until recently and now they save my bacon. Our little hunting critters? I just picked them up and let them sit in my pouch, until I realized they ACTUALLY helped, so I was like, "Crap, I need to relearn some things." (the beetles are my favs~ the lanturn bugs are a close second) But, there is a tip I'd like to add: if you come across a tent/camp and your weapon is dull and you're half alive and your buddies are dying, hop in for a second and hop out. Voila! Health and sharpness restored! HOWEVER it won't work with stamina, so you still need to eat meat to get your energy back up.
Make sure to get those extra 3 drops per hunt by riding the other non quest target monsters :) Love your videos especially when your on your lighter funnier side. Insect Glaive - Bilbobrix
One interesting thing about the wire fall is sometimes you do want to use it, I feel like in this game you don’t get knocked flat on your back quite as often as in World, so your character will start standing up and you might get hit by a follow up attack. So sometimes you do want to get out of there as fast as possible, but other times you want to stay on the ground, it’s kinda up to your discretion how you want to deal with it. After certain attacks though like Rajang’s pin attack, or Narwa’s tail slam, or Kushala’s wind beam you definitely want to wire fall immediately lest you get hit by the follow up attack
Bring. Healing. Dust. If not for yourself then for those on the quest with you. If they're not someone you know, you can not trust them to stay alive. And you yourself may find yourself being overwhelmed and you gain a heal from someone else - say thank you! EDIT: Though yes, your current HR gear may not be as viable when SB comes out, still farm monsters. Decos are expensive and Talisman's are an annoying RNG grind. Better to get prepared now than go into MR with little Decos to slot into your upcoming better amour.
My personal mistakes: 1. Not using the radial menu to its fullest extent - That shit is a lifesaver through and through, saving you the trouble of digging through your pouch manually, especially if you are a ranged hunter needing to craft ammo. I know its a hassle to set it up but the amount of carts and time it saves in the long run is 1000% worth it. 2. Not setting up hunter loadouts - the amount of time you can save is just staggering as you dont have to set items all the time you want to change a build. 3. Being too reckless - its tempting to go unga bunga on the monster but this 9/10 times end up in wasting more time that it can save. 4. Not using the farcaster - this thing literally saves lives. For example if a risen monster is about to use one of their cheap AOE tricks and you are stuck in a place with nowhere to run, just pop a farcaster. 5. Cheaping out on items - in our current generation, you effectively have infinite items seeing how abundant things are. Dont hesitate to use items to make hunting easier or faster. 6. Relying too much on elemental - while elemental builds are VERY powerful, youll quickly find yourself in a rut when trying to progress the game. Get a non-elemental build as a fit all to progress the game, or the very least dragon because a lot of late game monsters are weak to it. 7. Not using fortify - That shit is a gamechanger. It can change missions that are going to shit to a success due to the crazy buffs it gives you once you cart. If you have a free lvl 2 slot, just pop it.
Dont forget knowing the answer to a question is easy if you know what question to ask. Please go easy and let people experience learning the game just like you once did, dont breed a toxic atmosphere in a game thats always had a great and friendly community. Dont be self destructive of this game.
This might be more of late game tip: -If you aim for Fortune skill, it increases chance for extra rewards at end of hunt, make sure you have everything you need on your gear and Decorations. Changing gear or even one Deco DURING hunt removes Fortune skills buff at end of hunt. -Have lvl 1 Flinch Free skill if you know you are going to play with someone with Wide Attacks. Flinch Free prevents your allies from staggering you with their Weapon Attacks so you can evade or run freely if needed. -When you are building your gear, use Wishlist option to track items you need. Use Monster notes to check what part you need to break for high chance for this loot to drop at end of hunt. Parts you have not looted do not show on this list, try to break each part at least once or twice on different hunts or check from internet what parts monster drops.
Heaven forbid you be smart and savvy enough with the game; to make a set to change into the last half of a fight to increase you odds. Like that's right there tells me the B-Team ain't about being friendly with drops. I didn't know that rule but I find that repulsive they cancel the perk if you swap off it.
@@CPPpotkustartti i remember it would do goofy shit when youd switch full perk sets like Fatalis into Safi. Or vice versa that made me scratch my head ALOT lol.
If there wasn't all this sunbreak gameplay then this would be great for new players, cause there's tons of spoilers in this video, maybe in this type of video just fight base rise monsters even if you're doing it in sunbreak but great video otherwise
I made the mistake of trying to solo all the hub quest thinking that the twins have the same type of quest. Also you really need to concentrate on getting the materials for better armor and weapons otherwise you will just be worthless. I also craft megillah potions and any other high-level healing items to keep on me. And I feel like a lot of noobs should start with the sword and shield because it's the only weapon I'm aware of that you can keep a eye out and use your items to heal
Actually its super annoying if you depend on permabuffs and spend online game first 5 min hunting those. When you play solo do as u please, but not on multiplayer. Espescially in rise where hunts are over quickly anyway.
5:07 thats the KAS sword from diablos/black diablos in older gen MH. Really wanted to see that gs come back in newer titles. Was one of if not the best end game GS back in MHFU
I'm fairly new into the game, having sunk in around 60 hours or so divided between Steam and Switch. I've had a few hunts when I send a join request and someone with a rank 100 or so goes in and gets carted twice because they got too smug with their skills. They also ignore capture requests. It wasn't even a particularly difficult hunt: I've only recently unlocked high rank quests, so it's not against endgame monsters. While the vast majority of my multiplayer hunts have been really fun, I'm starting to have more hub quests where I'm better off doing it solo because having bad teammates makes my quest much harder for poorer rewards.
another huge mistake is overusing dogs, i get it you can zoom everywhere and use items on the go, but you also only take the regular paths, dont use great wirebugs, dont fast travel, and dont take a more direct route (going over a mountain instead of around) and when you factor in those things i on foot am no more than three second behind you and i sharpened my weapon and healed up, and i grabbed some endemic life and permabuffers on the way over to the monster, on top of this my cat has been debuffing the monster and buffing and healing our entire team while your dog has done less than 500 damage to the monster total, and also stop bringing dogs to arena quests, theres literally no where for you to ride them anyway, bring a cat and increase our teams overall survivability
This will only apply until Sunbreak, where dogs get access to Silkbinder, which, despite it best trait (status application) and thus it's lockdown potential being nerfed repeatedly, the damage dogs do are so much higher than cats it almost not worth using them.
Aren't dogs in arena good because you can sharpen your weapon and move so you don't get trashed ? I only played Solo and I'm pretty new but it seems good to me
@@Palindrome3945 not really, your cats can grab aggro just fine for you to sharpen, plus theres literally hundreds of openings to sharpen in any given fight. being able to move while sharpening is completely unnecessary and i hate to sound rude or mean, but if you really need the dog to sharpen then you need to either increase your skill level, or invest in the speed sharpening skills.
@@XenonDante except the damage dogs do isnt that high even in sunbreak, sure its pretty good, and they can even solo quite a few hunts, but theyll never beat out a well equipped and skilled hunter, even a skilled hunter with a suboptimal build will still out dps the strongest of dogs. but dont get me wrong im not saying you should only use the cats, you should have 1 of each. just that cats should be your first slot because the dogs are just not worth not having a cat, the cats are capable of good damage yeah it isnt as strong as dogs but it isnt really that much worse. and they offer so much value with healing and buffs and debuffs and stuns and getting extra materials on the hunt. there have been literally hundreds of hunts where my cats have saved my life or my teammates lives, so many times where we were 1 cart away from losing where the cat saved the hunt with a well timed heal. cats simply make up for shitty teammates who dont pack enough pots or suck at dodging. dogs just let you sharpen while moving faster.
when the monster sleeps dont put the barrels next to the head, even vets dont know that half the time. By all means use barrels however put it near the tail and let a heavy hitter go for the head, barrels do the same damage all the time and provide no bonus damage to weak points however weapons do and barrels can cause friendly fire and knockback which disrupts other peoples attacks. Lastly learn to use switch skills as so many people ignore their usage but they can be a force to be reckoned with when used properly and the wirebugs can be used to readjust to continue an assault but dont be reckless.
Another mistake I've seen after changing my "Auto Shout-out": 1: Not grabbing another Monster then go to target just to soften up and drop loot 2: Not relianing on spiribirds. Idk why they see their mistake on cart or they don't care.
2:57 I really don't get the choice of phrasing "prepare meals using ingredients that players have gathered or purchased." You just buy the meals, you don't supply the ingredients. At first I assumed you meant the motley mix, but those items don't give the food skill buffs that you go on to talk about the meals giving.
I definitely have a problem. I just can’t seem to ride wyverns correctly. Every time I go to ride a monster and I go to “move”… about 3 second into me moving the monster just falls over. So I can never travel far enough to another monster
As soon as you forge your first MR weapon, join an expedition in LR and try hunting some monsters. They usually die after two minutes of battle and reward you with a lot of basic material.
Something that pisses me of is when i atract monster to fight between themselves, i grab one with wire bug to break parts lunch against the other monster to pick the other and repeat the process and somebody picks my monter and hit them against the wall, man this gives more damage against the main target but we lost the material from a monster that we will not hunt... this happens quite often lol
1 thing i notice new players do alot of is getting to comfy with the situation. me and my buddy always bring items to heal the team in a pinch and new players gets way to use to you healing them they forget to stop forgetting to be self efficient and heal yourself dont wait for us to use our dust of life everytime your low
Most of the time the traps in the Area are not obvious. Compared to what I played before in World: Iceborne, it’s really obvious before in that game. Now in Rise it’s really hard to see if it’s just a wall or trap.
HELP, I'm stuck, I got all the way to 7* solo on the hub, (even ibushi on rampage was not that hard), but I can not win againts 7* monsters, 3 hits and I'm down, still using the High rank kamura armor (no other have higher defence), but I do not see people take this much damage on the videos.
I was overwhelmed by monster Hunter so bad I decided to sell it but my birthday is only 1 month away so I'm planning to get it again and planning to finish it.
I think people don't even realize that you have a certain invincibility when you're on the ground after being knocked down by a monster. then they use wirefall and die.. i see that a lot when i'm against furious rajang or valstrax online for example
while riding a monster, if you launch the monster into another one, that other monster becomes ridable. making turf wars an all you can break part festival.
I did another playthrough of iceborne before this came out. Rise is a cake walk by comparison. To clarify: I don't mean it's not challenging. IMO MHR is less of a grind, and more enjoyable by comparison. I do miss the environments of MHW. If they could combine the ease of progression in MHR with the environments and turf wars of MHW I'd be a happy hunter!
Rise just came out on xbox and I already have 300 hours in the switch version. I pray to God they add a cross progression option when sunbreak comes to xbox too. 🙏🏾
another mistake, was screen clutter, complex unnecessary mechanics tied with borrowed power such as the wirebug and silkbind system. Flat maps and just over the top movement ability over combat smoothness.
But I mean like min 5:12 for example. I finish all solo quest and rank 5 on gathering hub missions and still can't see that icon. I need to open my boom and check
I haven't bought a single potion from trader. Meat at Argosy for Motley Mix, but not a single potion. You guys know you can craft potions literally from the herbs you should be picking up in every hunt, right? Why is every MHR content creator acting like potions are such a hard thing to get that players should remember traders exist? It's far more important for you to tell new players to put barrel bonds at the tail so they aren't the first-hit. Or not to capture every monster. There are millions of things that are more important than "hey, this game has a trader... which you should already know as you're either ignoring the giant speech bubble over his head or you've accepted his tasks already."

I have a buddy I have been playing this with on PS5, I had a headstart so to speak from playing on the switch so I knew what to expect. He asked me, "What's the most useful tip you can give me for this game?" I told him, "Observe the monster. Watch how it moves when performing certain attacks and see if it likes to combo certain attacks together. You'll survive better knowing how it moves because you'll know when and where to dodge."
For amount of rewards killing/carving is better. But if you're hunting specific materials you should still check the hunting notes. What you need may have a higher chance to drop from capturing or carving.
@@CheekyCewn its in the game. When you go into the hunter notes and look ad drop chances, most stuff is either higher ir equal to capture and you get 3 tries for it. Its weird.
underusing the wirebug is also a big mistake, as a general rule your wirebugs should be almost exclusively used for silkbinds during combat and not wirefalls, and you should almost always have at least one bug on cooldown, if you dont it likely means that you are underutilizing the silkbinds the reason you shouldnt use wirefall is that you get a metric fuckton of s after being knocked back and using a wirefall has a long wirebug cooldown and ends those s early, meaning youre vulnerable sooner, and that means youre more likely to cart and less likely to use a silkbind meaning the hunt is longer and theres less rewards
Yea especially for charge blade. Counter peak performance and the other one cost 1 wirebug and have a relatively low cooldown. Pick up a 3rd wirebug and you'll almost always have a switch skill available. It took me a while to get used to focusing on getting that CPP counter to charge my phials and using the other one to position for easy SAEDs. I just kept on focusing on rolling and charging manually
If a quest has a gray icon that looks like a monster caught in a net that means it’s a capture quest and you SHOULDN’T. KILL. THE MONSTER. I tried online ONCE in Rise and one guy placed a trap under a sleeping Almudrom, which woke it up, and then kept attacking it. Never playing online again.

Most weapons have counters in this game but you may not always have a wirebug available or maybe you’re not playing longsword lol. I’m playing longsword so I try to counter everything. Ita funny how some things change so much between games. Tri and mhgu had completely different systems than world had and rise is very similiar to world. Player base has grown a lot and thats a good thing, but unfortunately we have now MR 100+ players who either try yo capture elder dragons or still use high rank gear partly :D
is it a negative thing to capture elder dragons? friends and I are new to the monster hunter universe, just hr5, so we're looking at guide and tips everywhere 😅
@@wayofwatty More along the lines that Elder Dragons are immune to traps making them it impossible to capture them. Can't capture if the traps don't work on them to begin with. A lot of people love to use offensive skills mainly because they like to see high damage numbers and end hunts quickly. If youre new to the series do not start by using offensive skills. start by using skills that make hunts more comfortable for you. i cannot stress enough how powerful comfy skills can be in teaching someone the game at a better pace. besides, youll have to learn how the monsters attack anyways so why not actually ENJOY the dance that a monster fight effectively is instead of whipping your dance partner across the dance floor into the central pillar crashing the whole building down upon it? after you get used to the game with the comfy skills then thats when you can branch out and see what comfy skills you can sacrifice to add the damage you feel like you need for the more difficult hunts. Examples of comfy skills include Defense Boost, Evade Window, Evade Extender, Constitution, Stamina Surge, Marathon Runner, Mind's Eye, Ballistics, Steadiness, Recoil Down, Reload Speed, Power Prolonger and Quick Sheath to name a very good selection of where to start. Also if playing solo or really having a hard time TAKE FORTIFY! If you fall you just come back stronger and more tanky so you can finish the fight before your third faint!
Yes. I also just put attack skills when i was starting, but then as it goes on i noticed i can finish a hunt with more or less than 20 min. I'm not a speed runner, i actually fool around whenever i hunt so that time is fine by me. With all the fooling around the map i noticed i can finish hunts without running out of time, so i changed some of the skills into comfy skills. I'm annoyed of being stunned so i always put stun res 3. Also divine boost and recovery skills for extra protection.
One thing I see is people getting impatient and trying to straight bum rush the monster remember you have 50 minutes there is no rush try to dance around a monster and keep your calm
Treat yourself to mh world whenever your about done with this game. Both are fun and good games but feel very different (I definitely think world is a better game but rise has better monsters but that's my opinion)
The number one thing I see new and even old hunters do that makes me so mad is long sword users attacking the head instead of the tail. Blunt weapons should be at the head at all times not sharp weapons!
There's enough room for at least 3 melee on the head without anyone being tripped, one on each side and one at the front. The hit zone values can be better on the head for slash damage than the tail, so a LS user that has already cut the tail and knows what they are doing wont trip you if they are positioned correctly at the head so they have more damage. Edit: There are of course some smaller monsters where the head would be too small of an area for this to be possible without trips, so in that case yeah hammer and a few other weapons should take head priority.
@@Ephemeraltrip but they just attack the head and disregard the tail completely. And regardless LS users will trip you unless you have finch free equip. They constantly mess up my hammer charges and I dread them coming to my lobby lol.

How cool is it that Monster Hunter is finally available on ALL platforms?
Another mistake I seen is people refusing to heal themself.
Just because someone thinks they can take on the monster and not get carted doesn't mean they can.
I seen this too much where someone is in red and when the monster moves to a new area instead of healing they just straight up go to where the monster is only to cart from a signal tap of the monster.
Also these kinda of players I do heal but I end up running out of the item I need to heal them so I always end up having to go restock at camp.
I had just posted the same thing. Doing stuff like that doesn't help anyone. They shouldn't be relying on other people to heal them.
how about you verify that the player isnt running full resentment or even valstrax armor.... since ya know valstrax armor bonus doesnt work if you are over a certain % of HP.... nothing more annoying that getting life dusted when im about to smack the shit out of a monster for 2k damage only to get nerfed to 1200 because youre " helping me"
@@arbiter1022 With a build like that yeah the damage is great but you also need to know when to give up that buff too by healing when needed.
:Edit:
Also just because someone healed you doesn't mean they were doing it to only heal you someone else could have needed healing.
@@SuperLuigi1025 What a negative nancy
The only mistake is not using lance
Must have grown up on unreal tournament
Must have been two 12 yo 🤣
As a Hunter who just hit past the 100 hour mark AND hit the Sunbreak portion of the game, I have just recently noticed some of these mistakes for myself and tried to fix them. The Hunter's Notes? Yep, ignored them, until recently and now they save my bacon. Our little hunting critters? I just picked them up and let them sit in my pouch, until I realized they ACTUALLY helped, so I was like, "Crap, I need to relearn some things." (the beetles are my favs~ the lanturn bugs are a close second)
But, there is a tip I'd like to add: if you come across a tent/camp and your weapon is dull and you're half alive and your buddies are dying, hop in for a second and hop out.
The first mistake I made was buying it day one and it going 50% off in less than a week.
i last played this game when it was first ut for psp...just got bac into it again and your videos have been very helpful
My first reaction... the song used.... just went 15+ years behind.
Digimon world , man.
Bring. Healing.
My personal mistakes:
They can learn playing solo instead of holding other players back and getting in people’s way online.
This might be more of late game tip:
-If you aim for Fortune skill, it increases chance for extra rewards at end of hunt, make sure you have everything you need on your gear and Decorations.

All I have to say is that you don't need to rush you have 50 minutes to fight the monster rushing will only get carted and grab Perma buffs lol.
Actually its super annoying if you depend on permabuffs and spend online game first 5 min hunting those. When you play solo do as u please, but not on multiplayer. Espescially in rise where hunts are over quickly anyway.

I make myself use hunters notes instead of Google lol more immersive
another huge mistake is overusing dogs, i get it you can zoom everywhere and use items on the go, but you also only take the regular paths, dont use great wirebugs, dont fast travel, and dont take a more direct route (going over a mountain instead of around) and when you factor in those things i on foot am no more than three second behind you and i sharpened my weapon and healed up, and i grabbed some endemic life and permabuffers on the way over to the monster, on top of this my cat has been debuffing the monster and buffing and healing our entire team while your dog has done less than 500 damage to the monster total, and also stop bringing dogs to arena quests, theres literally no where for you to ride them anyway, bring a cat and increase our teams overall survivability
100000000% agree
Another mistake I've seen after changing my "Auto Shout-out":
1: Not grabbing another Monster then go to target just to soften up and drop loot
2: Not relianing on spiribirds. Idk why they see their mistake on cart or they don't care.
3:48 how do I pull up the screen that shows me what moves I can do like that
Iirc you can enable it in options, under HUD or game settings
Options > Game Settings > Display Switch Skill Info
As it says, it only displays what switch skills you have equipped
2:57 I really don't get the choice of phrasing "prepare meals using ingredients that players have gathered or purchased." You just buy the meals, you don't supply the ingredients. At first I assumed you meant the motley mix, but those items don't give the food skill buffs that you go on to talk about the meals giving.
I definitely have a problem. I just can’t seem to ride wyverns correctly. Every time I go to ride a monster and I go to “move”… about 3 second into me moving the monster just falls over. So I can never travel far enough to another monster

For amount of rewards killing/carving is better. But if you're hunting specific materials you should still check the hunting notes. What you need may have a higher chance to drop from capturing or carving.

Sometimes the rarer drop is rated higher for a capture though.

Anybody got the best dual blades build ?
underusing the wirebug is also a big mistake, as a general rule your wirebugs should be almost exclusively used for silkbinds during combat and not wirefalls, and you should almost always have at least one bug on cooldown, if you dont it likely means that you are underutilizing the silkbinds
the reason you shouldnt use wirefall is that you get a metric fuckton of s after being knocked back and using a wirefall has a long wirebug cooldown and ends those s early, meaning youre vulnerable sooner, and that means youre more likely to cart and less likely to use a silkbind meaning the hunt is longer and theres less rewards
Yea especially for charge blade. Counter peak performance and the other one cost 1 wirebug and have a relatively low cooldown. Pick up a 3rd wirebug and you'll almost always have a switch skill available.

Player base has grown a lot and thats a good thing, but unfortunately we have now MR 100+ players who either try yo capture elder dragons or still use high rank gear partly :D
lmao
is it a negative thing to capture elder dragons? friends and I are new to the monster hunter universe, just hr5, so we're looking at guide and tips everywhere 😅
@@wayofwatty More along the lines that Elder Dragons are immune to traps making them it impossible to capture them.
Can't capture if the traps don't work on them to begin with.
You also can't capture Apex who also immune to traps and even though you can use traps on Afflicted Monsters you can't capture them either.
Basically if the game says to slay the monster the game won't let you capture it.
@@wayofwatty They can not be captured. Same with Apexes. Its understandable not know that when you play the first time. No excuse after being like Hr 50+, no matter if its your first game or not.
Do you maybe have a video about being better at Rampage's?

First time ever playing Monster Hunter. Any more advice?
Find a weapon your comfortable with. Try to finish first or most of the "Village Quest".
Use the long sword, everything else is trash 🗑️
Wait, you can use LAVA to damage monsters!?!?
have to drop a sub purely for the digimon world ps1 ost in the back
I thought you were zanny for a second
