so I watch a lot of youtube videos, I have only commented on a few videos ever.... but i wanted you to know that I truly enjoy your upbeat positive energy & sharing your adventures with us all. It's good content & truly hope you keep it up!
Jonathon: mountain snow camping- miso glazed salmon in a cast iron grill with asparagus 😳 Me: at my house- boxed mac n cheese with fried hotdogs😩 🙏 Jesus, take the wheel. I'm not adult enough. 😭
Your pan is way to hot. Olive oil will smoke if the pan is too hot. But your dinner looks delicious. You're a brave man for sleeping in a tent the winter! I applaud your enthusiasm. Nice choice of music for having a cup of coffee. Still love your whooo! Drive safe. Keep safe. God bless you on your next adventure. 😘
great video! different background music I enjoy! btw the reason your tent got so wet was because of that heater, unless you've got an electric fan running to blow around the air you'll keep getting soaked like that every time. one of the things I do is, I own a big Agnes Echo park -20 bag. -20 is more like its EN limit and the EN comfort is more like -5 to 0. anyway that bag has kept me toasty warm and since its synthetic wet doesn't effect its warmth very much. only downside is its NOT impact at all when it stores.
Great video and gotta say you make it all look SO EASY ! Love how you actually cook a meal On the tail gate of your truck ! You certainly have a great outlook & positive attitude in all you do ! Thx for a great video . Looks like a great time ... but looks pretty cold 🥶 Be safe out there 👍🏼
Gorgeous! I love mountains! We are surrounded by mountains and hiking trails in Tucson, Arizona where I live, but I like watching other people’s videos and vlogs about their adventures in other places. Thanks for sharing! I’m following!
Great video. The dinner looked delicious. It looked way too cold to be camping in a tent or camping period. I have to say I’d be scared out there by myself. You handled everything like a pro. 😊
Great video as always! Love the winter views in dry climate landscape :-) Looks special to me since I'm used to rain forest winter camping in BC, Canada. For the condensation issue you can try not covering all the sides of the tent with the snow (ideally leave open the one on the leeward side) that way you won't get the snow draft in but still be able to keep some air circulation. Your intention was great for keeping tent warm but closing all sides up also keeps the water in. Especially with the propane heater that produce lots of moisture. I believe some winter expedition tents have a better ventilation systems on the top (more openings etc.), cause they are made with that in mind . I found regular 3 season tents always get quite a bit of condensation, at least here in BC's moist rainforest! Excited for yet another video, cheers ;-)
I admit the scenery is gorgeous, but camping in the snow and cold is something I would only do if I were bound and gagged. I'm glad you enjoyed it and was not attached by a bear for your salmon entree.
What happened to the truck camper build? AS having camped in the snow in Ontario Canada. We shovelled out the base and dropped one of those insulated blankets and then insolated pad. We were told that blowing into the air mattress cause moisture to get in it. It created cold coming up from the ground. This was winter camping in 1980 when it got cold as -40
The bosa Nova jazz music at the end was awesome...i wish you would give reference to the music in your descriptions on each video. Would you please do that? What was that song btw?
I just camp in the city limits when I camp. As long as it's safe and there's a campground nearby, it's okay. Sometimes I go elsewhere. I just like to try new things for the sake of trying new things and hiking and camping and fishing and doing those things that are important to help environment safety. It's good stuff 👍! This is awesome stuff, Mr. Yencht!
@@JonathanYentch thanks! Your video about the open truck concept got me thinking about maybe getting a pickup truck to start, too. Saving, saving! $ social security and waiting for a good job is different when you are 50 and a woman compared to when you are a guy. People are quite descriminating against older women in the work place. Especially Catholic women. I work hard. I'm the marrying kind of person. Hopefully things will work out. Thanks Mr. Yencht. Keep up the good work. I'm hoping to break into the same kind of work, myself. God bless you.
Check out “Girl in the woods “ she is an amazing camper. She and her husband buy land and build small little cottages. Their dog and cat goes with her out camping.
I was worried as soon as you opened that Salmon (along with the maple syrup!!🐻 Your meal looked as if it came from a Bistro/Bar and Grill kind of a place!!🥬🐟
1st Amazing scenery, wow Makes Indiana look sad, lol, yes comment below, Blackened Salmon, And who cares what it looks like and long as it was tasty, Was the condensation from snow melting ? or just heating the cold air.. I wish I was able to enjoy life and freedom like this, By the way when are U starting back on the camper? I remember you said you was taking time off for the camping.
I always enjoy your videos Jonathan from here in Chicago. I am really am getting involved with that truck camper rebuild. Just curious, what was the elevation of where you camped at just now near LA?
Now if you really had wanted to be clever, you would have figured out how to set up that footage of you backing into the campsite without the tell tale footprints in the snow! ;-)
Coffee in hand, time to enjoy another camping video! Edit: in before everyone screams about lack of CO detector for buddy heater. For what it's worth I haven't died yet.

WD-40 only works for a short time because it's a anti seize lubricant. Try using a good grease or penetration oil. Should fix it up. Great video!👍🍻

Motivating Me! Your videos are an inspiration and a testament to how great camping can be! keep it up Brother!
Bears didn’t hibernate in Central Virginia when I lived there. I think you’re right about them maybe not hibernating in LA.

Try white lithium grease for the squeaking pedal. I've used it on my squeaky clutch pedal and it hasn't come back in years.
I'll give it a shot!

His channel is bushcraft radical. Love them they are amazing
Try lithium grease spray. It works better than wd-40
The snow is beautiful but I hate it. I live in Texas. Enough said. Lol
didn't you know burning propane inside (or out) gives off moisture? You need to keep vents open.
I was worried as soon as you opened that Salmon (along with the maple syrup!!🐻 Your meal looked as if it came from a Bistro/Bar and Grill kind of a place!!🥬🐟
Mt. Laguna? Mt. Palomar? Looks like so much fun!
Ps get a cutting board .👍Also turn down your heat on the fish.
Shouldnt cover sides of tent with snow ,that's why your condensation was so bad.
Hey Johnathon liked you in the tent. Wish i could be there with you.

You don't pack snow onto a tent with no flaps on the side your just pushing snow onto the side on your tent
do you put sugar in your coffee/tea?
brrrrr...thanks!
I always enjoy your videos Jonathan from here in Chicago. I am really am getting involved with that truck camper rebuild. Just curious, what was the elevation of where you camped at just now near LA?

It’s in the Angeles National Forest :-)
