Hey folks! As others have pointed out, some areas require permits to chop down trees from the forest to take home. We did acquire a permit from the Mt Hood National Forest Service and I highly suggest checking with your local agency to see what they require before chopping!
Thanksgiving is spent with the ones you love. Doesn’t matter if we’re having Stoffer’s lasagna or pizza. Lol. I was always taught as long as you’re thankful, in good health, and in good spirits .. we should be grateful. Cheers to new traditions!
great spot! My hubby & kids did Thanksgiving at Moonlight Beach (San Diego) several years ago. I love to have an unusual day of thanks. Positive vibes for the truck fix. Love the tree-memories!
Definitely get the camper add-on, the camper makes the 15 hour wait for the AAA tow truck a lot easier. Had to call AAA for a tow once, it was 5 pm, and the arrival time was 7 pm. At 7 pm I checked the app and the arrival time was 9 pm. Every time I checked the arrival time was exactly 2 hours in the future. At 11 pm I gave up and called my insurance, their tow truck came within half an hour. Naturally I don't have AAA anymore. Most people have it for the towing, and if they don't want to provide that, what are they good for?
We always have the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Roasted chicken instead of turkey, baked ham, dressing w/ gravy and cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, pea casserole, sweet potato casserole with brown sugar/pecan topping, mashed potatoes, rolls w/ lots of butter. and pumpkin pie plus pecan pie for dessert. We do enjoy a spicy meal (usually Chinese takeout) after two days of Thanksgiving leftovers. But your Thanksgiving meal looked very tasty. Good luck having everything back in tip-top shape with the camper truck. See you on the next adventure.
I owned a Ford pickup and loved it. I shipped it to Germany and drove it for a couple years. After selling it, I saw it on the side of the autobahn, obviously broken down. Someone wrote on the dirty side of the truck: F-ound O-n R-oad D-ead. Your meal looks awesome! As a van lifer, I love to experiment with food and will try your "hot pot" idea.
I hope that Thanksgiving was great! I'm glad that Tessa was there! The Hot Pot meal looked as if it turned out fantastic-especially with that brisket, lobster, and broth! I wish that I could have joined you guys on that meal! Take care and enjoy the Holidays!🏞🍲🍲🥤🥤
We do traditional Turkey day every other year. The in- between years we have 10 of us and each couple brings a unusual entree they love + a side.. We usually do homemade lobster and spinach manicotti and spinach and mushroom ravioli with brown butter sauce. One of guest do a great Russian borscht, and another does German Chicken in a Jaegar (brown mushroom gravy) sauce. It is all yummy!
It’s true. Being in the RV industry we would use Drive-Away companies to deliver our coaches. It was always a race for the drivers. They wanted the Chevy powered units before driving a Ford. No body wants to drive a unit that might break down.
Glad u had a Happy Thanksgiving. Free tree is a good tree no matter if it is a Charlie Brown tree. Never heard of a hot pot. We had the traditional food. 🦃 🥧 💕
Happy Thanksgiving I had to work, But made food on Wed. I made a 10 pound turkey and mashed potatoes," green giant riced veggies with cauliflower the rainbow style and apple pie Yeah Fords are a pain in the ass lol. Beautiful View, sweet tree, make sure no Squirrel lol
SUGGESTION jonathan, there is a shop in AZ and there may be one closer that works on these Fords, better than any other mechanics. Its worth your money and its a good trip for you. They 'bullet proof'the ford diesels with parts that are known to fail. Look up Bullet proof ford diesels and youll eventually get there.Might be worth a call to them at a minimum. Lots of Ford YTrs take their trucks there for repairs and or bullet proofing with better more reliable parts
Looks like you're right on the Lookout Mountain Road SW spur road near the old Cooks Meadow trailhead. Probably best to acknowledge and let folks know as you broadcast that you need a resource harvest permit from the ranger district or NF offices to be cutting trees on public lands.
I love Korean food. I eat kimchi with every meal I have. My gut has never worked so well. Thank you Korean culture for producing such amazing foods! What a perfect way to do thanksgiving! My kids and I also went out to do turkey meal in the nature, it was so windy and cold we adjusted and had in the car with killer views of the bay.
I enjoy the traditional thanksgiving food because I only eat it once a year. I like turkey but it’s not my preference, only time I eat it is thanksgiving
You need to get a permit to cut down a Xmas tree bud. And they only allow it in certain places. The permit is only $5 up here in Washington. But I won’t tell lol happy thanksgiving
It’s like the Asian version of an African American crab boil. I mean this with absolutely no disrespect at all, I hope no one takes it that way. I honestly love how we truly are all the same…we just have different taste buds and access to ingredients. Food brings the world together. Ok, back to the video.
Your exactly right if it runs through your mind and you think naw that won’t happen better bet it will. Lol. Stay safe and Happy Holidays! Hope we get to see more Tessa 😊
Happy holidays! Definitely lovely to be out there for a thanksgiving. Yea true statement your ford did take you across and back “ONCE” Toyota that plus some hahah jk. Funny what you said and you did have a Toyota haha. Hope the ford get to be good to go.
Hope the truck issues aren’t too bad! Nice meal! It’s getting hot down here in Australia so we usually have cold meats, seafood and salad for my Xmas lunch! Followed by swimming!
Thanks for a great vid as usual! Happy thankgiving you guys put a smile on my face! I also did non traditional thanksgiving....kinda. Turkey was Asian themed with lemon grass, soy sauce/ginger marinade. Stuffing was kind of a stir fry style vegetables fusion side along with the teriyaki sweet taters and a ginger cranberry sauce.
Great seeing Tessa again. I always enjoy you both together ❤. HAPPY-GO-LUCKY Thanksgiving-XMas ☺ 😊. The tree, PERFECTION for 1 Large Red Ball Ornament and Twinkle Lights. Wonderfully Woodsy.

Lovely hot pot! Yum! That Grey Jay was so cute. They are notoriously friendly and known for coming and taking food from your hand. Happy belated Thanksgiving to you both! Free Christmas tree... I'm in! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 see you in the next one!
Happy Thanksgiving to the two of you. My Family realized a few years ago that none of us are turkey lovers. We go with Prime Rib and Ham. Stuffing/Dressing is still a must though. Pumpkin Pie is also a necessity.
Happy holidays ❤🎉❤thanks for sharing this with me looks like you had a great time the food 🍲 looks good great Christmas tree 🎄 always good to see you too together 😊
Excellent new Thanksgiving tradition! We did the usual fare for Thanksgiving, but the night before we made Mandu (Korean dumplings), Bulgogi, rice & Kimchi. Back to back feasts! Enjoyed your video (once again!). Good luck with the Ford!
Hope your wife is doing good ! I just had to ask about your screen name . I'm from Amarillo, live in Oklahoma now but used to Go to Turkey for Bob Wills Day ! Good memories !
Same thing happened to me with the thermostat housing in my 03 Jeep Liberty. Was a much trickier fix than I had anticipated 😅 but a fun one nonetheless

You should have addressed that in the video.

I cooked the classic Thanksgiving food.. That remind me when my dad years ago used to go in the woods and chop a tree. We never bought one.
great spot! My hubby & kids did Thanksgiving at Moonlight Beach (San Diego) several years ago. I love to have an unusual day of thanks. Positive vibes for the truck fix. Love the tree-memories!

Oregon requires a tree permit. Hope ya picked one up at the ranger station.

Perfect combo to have Thanksgiving meal and a free Christmas tree! 🎄😊

Happy Thanksgiving Jonathan and Tessa!
Those electric jacks are so clutch
Yes. Do you have any suggestions?
We had the traditional foods for Thanksgiving, but, we pre-ordered our dinner pre-cooked.
You guys are to much GREAT BANTER between you two
Great video. Really loved that you guys combined Thanksgiving and Christmas into one video. Getting a free life tree was totally awesome 👌
Looks like you're right on the Lookout Mountain Road SW spur road near the old Cooks Meadow trailhead. Probably best to acknowledge and let folks know as you broadcast that you need a resource harvest permit from the ranger district or NF offices to be cutting trees on public lands.
Great video. Cute tree. Food, family memories, all the right ingredients.
Ford also stands for : Fix Or Repair Daily
Love the new tradition!!! And tree! Mt Hood was gorgeous!!! I will head up that way soonish as well, Happy Holidays to you both.
This year we went to Knott’s Berry Farm & Universal studios, had a blast! 🤎🦃🍁
The bird was a Grey Jay. Yes they will feed out of your hand ! 🇨🇦 🍁 🏔️. Try it some day. Seeds work best !
Happy Thanksgiving what a great video ❤ you two enjoy your Christmas Tree 🎄
I am surprised only one Canada Jay was looking for food scraps. A common bird around campsites in the Pacific NW.
Yep, take the extra time to do it right even if you have to stop a few times.
Great. Can you make these?
do you need a permit to cut a tree in the Oregon wilderness?
Yes, can pick one up for $5 at the Ranger stations.

Hot Pot Combo! Whoo whee! Delish lookin' video, Mr. Jonathan and Miss Tessa! Happy 2024
Charli Brown tree! Love it
Love the video. Be carful cutting down trees. You might need a permit for that. Just trying to save you a headache, fine and a court date.
Sorry about the Ford issues, but it looks like a great outdoor Thanksgiving trip. You always have a more elaborate meal than the typical camping food.
Happy holidays! Definitely lovely to be out there for a thanksgiving.
Yea true statement your ford did take you across and back “ONCE” Toyota that plus some hahah jk. Funny what you said and you did have a Toyota haha.
Hope the ford get to be good to go.
It's a charlie brown xmas tree.....
The bird is as much a fan of hotpot as you are.😂
Hot Pot soup sounds similar to Wor Wonton soup, which I love.
Tessa is too funny 😂
You should get a truck tent for your red truck
I like the truck tents with open bottoms so you can put the tent up with out removing all the gear in back.
Tree was great!

We do seafood for thanksgiving. I love breaking the rules. 😁
We want to see the tree decorated!
Always great videos!!! I just ordered some of the same Hot Pot broth!! Thank you!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love your video but FYI cutting down a tree in the Mt. Hood national Forest does require a permit.
We call them camp robber Jay's they are friendly birds that seem to enjoy hanging around your camp.

Invest in some Stable Camper too. Great video!
Sound like Spider-Man “my back”
We did Birria tacos and BBQ Smoked pulled pork. :D Way better than the turkey dinner we did a month ago lol
You are such a fabulous cook. Happy Holiday !
I love your tree
Happy Thanksgiving Mr. Yentch. Really enjoy your content.
FORD = FIX OR REPAIR DAYS!!!
Yum....the food looks so good! I didn’t know what that was!!!❤❤❤
In most areas you have to get a permit to cut a live tree. My family gets one every year but we get a permit for the national forest we go to......
