I just love the fact, that whilst normally, all eyes focus on America in terms of pop culture and music, now, for a short amount of time, America is glimpsing back to the world on this channel, realising that there is awsome stuff going on abroad as well =)
Man, I looooooooove In Extremo! I was introduced to them via their song "Vollmond" while in high school. Found their album "Verehrt und Angespien" and fell in love. They're an amazing band.
you can hear In Extemo for hours and hours, they did a lot of different languages and a big amount of styles. there are some rock songs, some medival rock songs, ballads, some king of authentic medival music or even covers like "this corrosion". if you dont know them: take some hours time and enjoy!
This gives me nostalgic vibes! I was in a ska band and me and the drummer used to drive to gigs blasting In Extremo! Neither of us speak German so the lyrics were lost on us but we’re both big folk metal let’s!
Great reaction! I'm really glad you finally have In Extremo on your channel :D Please do more, for example "Herr Mannelig" (live at Lorely), "Feuertaufe" (Lorely), "Vollmond" or some songs from their recent album :)
To expand your horizon is never a bad thing! We´ve learned things from your channel and you have to(want to) explore so many new bands and subgenres. A win - win for everybody. The next step could be that you come over to germany and do some reaction about the festivals here like : WACKEN or M`era Luna..... Roadie reactions on an new level and some kick ass holiday ...maybe for your entire family! Greetings from Germany!
i was on that gig back in 2005. my brother and myself had the time of our life. it was awesome. the set was phenomenal. thx for bringing back that memory. crowd was jumping all the time. temperature was pretty high because of a malfunction of the ventilationsystem and 2 woman infront of us fainted during the show. and i bumped my head on the camera crane. they shot really low "flybys" and my brother and i jumped so high that we collided with the crane. there was also a dude who threw his shirt over the camera at one point. the sound IN EXTREMO creates is so emotional and overwhelming sometimes. i cried at LIAM. i got goosebumps most of the show. it was THE BEST CONCERT... even better then my most recent show at JINJER. they build their instruments by themself mostly. the harp is made out of oak,if i remember that right. not the "goto"kind of wood for such an instrument. they build their own bagpipes. the hurdy-gurdy is also one oh their own build instruments. man... i got soooo many memories back in my head right now. i keep re-writing my comment all the time. thx for that and keep up the show @tankthetech
Hello, I just got this video of yours recommended, because i´m a huge in extremo fan. I´m from germany and saw them multiple times live. Nice work you do, appreciate your style of knowledgebombs mixed with your love for music. One thing i want to add, i learned during their own anniversery festval ( they played two following days, check it out ), your translation of in extremo, is one of two correct ones, the other is "in perfection", because both sides of the band challenge each other. Additionally they partly build their instruments on their own and are specialists. I am you an i will follow your work. Greetings
When I was touring Europe by bicycle few years ago, I decided to do a 500km detour to see them play in Ukraine, for one of the best show in my life. Discovered them when I was 18, you should check some old stuffs ( like Kuss Mich, or Vollmond, but also many songs in foreign languages ( old french, latin, spanish, icelandic....) while the most recent ones are in German only
You have to check out "Herr Mannelig" from their 20 years anniversary-show in 2015 at the Loreley. Great song and great live performance! Love your channel, man! Keep it going!
hippity hoppity, this commentsection is now Staatseigentum der Bundesrepublik Deutschland - i know, i know, an older meme, but i thought i'd dust it off for this particular video ;D And what a video it is! As so many nice people have already pointed out, your videos are always wonderfully prepared, the insight you share from a professional background always helps and makes one appreciate the work that goes into these productions - thanks a ton for your work! And as others have also pointed out, In Extremo are a bedrock of German Medieval Metal, and their liveshows never dissapoint, no matter the setting, the time of year, how hungover they seem - they always deliver, always! =D Best wishes und liebe Grüße aus Hannover ;D

1st of all: you're awesome. I'm a german and I just love your videos and I follow you since the earlier days of your channel. InExtremo are great. I had them a couple of times and they do the best parties. So cool. I don't wonder you like em cause I know that you love rock/metal music with folk influences. This year, I will See Spiritbox again for the 2nd time in my life. I wish I could have em with you. Keep it up man. Lots of love from Germany! 😘🖤
Omgosh the memories. I was introduced to In Extremo by a girlfriend i had 22 years ago. Broke up with her, sticked with In Extremo for quite a while. This is actually my favorite song of them. Used to listen to this in my car every evening on my way home from work. Liam, Vollmond, Raue See, those three on repeat.
Well, and another victory for Germany! 🤣 Well Tank, a few more of our great and talented bands, and I can feel your movement to Germany is getting closer! 😉 I would like to throw something little darker in: Nachtblut with their song Multikulturell. This song is a absolute banger.
Yes Tank, thanx very much for watching In Extremo.I love the Band and I saw them live for more than 10 times😍!!!You HAVE to check all the great other Songs from them. And live it's soo much fun singing and make Party with them😊🍻.
I appreciate you doing this! While Knorkator is definitely worth checking out, it is completely different (but fun). I only really discovered Feuerschwanz last year and they dominated my playlists 😁. So it is awesome for me to dig more into the folkmetal scene and discovering all the good stuff, I was too lazy to find on my own.😂 So thanks again for giving me the final nudge to jump deep into this awesome rabbit hole! 🙂 And before I forget: Liam Liiiaaaam 🤘
Hey Tank, I am a American living in Germany and love another of the German folk metal that you have been covering and I will have to say they concert are way better then most I have seen in the States.
Slight emphasis on the second syllable. The lead singer has a *very* impressive vocal range. Probably requires a decent understanding of german to appreciate most of what they do, though.
SO happy you got recommended In Extremo. I was visiting Hamburg back in 2008 with my ship for repairs at the Dockyard there. When I called home, back in Greece, my brother begged me to get any "In Extremo" album I could gat my hands on! Got him 2 CD's and I remember how much I appreciated the combination of bugpipes with their metal sound....He still has them and treasures them to this day.
This brings me back to my youth. That came out when I was 16. Saw them in St. Vith Belgium. amazing show. Remember after the show that we run into the Band outside and had a beer with them. Good old times.
Omg soooo much memories 😍 I literally grew with those bands (not really age-wise but mentally - my first boyfriend got me into this medieval folk (metal) scene with bands like In Ex, Schandmaul, Saltatio, Subway to Sally etc. in ~2007) I was 17 and was just learning what it means to be an adult and to stand up on my own at that time and all those bands really helped me growing and kind of surpassing myself ❤ And I'm so so happy that they're now getting attracted overseas, because as much as I know, they're mostly known in central Europe and they deserve so much more ❤
When I had to explain this band to friends who didn't know it, back in the days, I told them it was a medieval Rammstein. The big backpipes are all over the place in the German medieval (rock/metal) band scene.
I saw In Extremo live for one time, and they are amazing. they have an amazing sound quality in there live performance. You should check out "Vollmond", "Spielmannsfluch" (the first song i ever heard from them), "Herr Mannelig" and "Ai Vis Lo Lop"
Good choice! If you're going for the roots of "medieval metal", you should also look at Haggard. They combine renaissance/folk melodies and instrumentation with some tasty distorted guitars, drums and doom metal growls. You really can't go wrong with any of the song-length tracks from their "Eppur si Muove" albuim
Subway to Sally is also a must! This style of music kicks you so hard live... there is no better "Partymusic" in my book to just have a great time freaking out and enjoying the sh*t out of! ;)
Subway to Sally is ... rather difficult. While I absolutely love them to death, Erics voice is just something I really enjoy, I can absolutely understand half of my friends who just can't stand their sound. If you like their sound they're great but if you don't like them chances are that you don't like any of their songs. But to give (probably bad 'cause biased) suggestions "Sieben" (their typical song everyone roots for at a concert), "Besser du rennst" (a quite energetic song), "Meine Seele brennt" (a somewhat slower song), "Kain" (an older and more 'baseline' StS song about Cain's betrayal) or "Arche" (a really falsely happy, upbeat and acoustically positive song about an alternative ending to noah's story where everyone dies). All in all I'd be happy to see Subway to Sally here but it's some really this-or-that kind of music where you either hate or love it.

Nice pick! I think "Küss mich" of In Extremo was the song, that made them pretty big. Was the first song I've heard of them as well. And... Yeah well greetings from Germany 🇩🇪😁
@@TankTheTech it's an original song :) the lyrics are really different as well, while Rammsteins song is more on the sexual route, In Extremos "Küss mich" is more of an (obsessive and one sided) love song
Another folk band from Germany is Fiddler's Green. Really fun on concerts and my favorite part is their version of The Rocky Road to Dublin and the wall of folk in the crowd. A good song to check out is "Victor and his Demons".
funny. i'm sitting here, a year later, naptrapped under my 3 month old, whose name is.... Liam. Their Wacken Performance of this song in 2022 ultimately made us pick that name. i've been binge watching your videos for the last couple of weeks, starting with nightwish (i've been a fan since 2004) and i really dig watching your reactions to bands i know and love, like nightwish or in extremo, and also discovering new music with you. keep it up! :) cheers from Germany!
One band that I've already recommended a while ago and I really think you would like: Månegarm. The are a Viking themed Folk Metal band from Sweden. The way that they combine Scandinavian folk with rough Metal is just incredible. Unfourtenetly they are not that famous, but honestly, they are one of the best bands I know and as you liek the Folk stuff, you should give it a try! I would recommend Sveablotet from their newest album or Hemfärd, an older piece. Keep on doing great reactions! Love from germany
I got hooked on these guys when I saw this video on one of the first Monsters of Metal compilations from Nuclear Blast. Their sound is amazing and I love how their music takes you on a journey. Great reactions as always!
Great reaction as always! In Extremo have been around for ages and they are an awesome live band every single time. One detail you missed out on in this club show as opposed to their outdoor shows is that they usually use LOADS of fire on stage. Also the bassist plays an Esh Stinger (didn't see enough to be certain if I or II but I think it's a I). Great basses! I actually play one myself and love the shit out of it! :) Esh were originally a German company, nowadays their development and custom shop are still in Germany but the production instruments are made in the Czech Republic.
What I love about these songs is, that you can definitely hear the evolution of the genre and the band. Together with Subway to Sally and Corvus Corax they truly are the founding fathers of the whole germand folk/medieval rock/metal genre. At least for me, even though there obviously are more bands, giving their influence to the genre in those times especially on the medieval accoustic side, like Die Streuner, etc. Nowadays I am super impressed by Micha Rheins (the vocalist) throat singing. His voice evolved so beautifully over the years. Gotta love them.
I'm so glad to see someone react to one of my favorites, In Extremo! As an American that listens to German bands, I've been their fan since I heard the song Wind for the first time 20 years ago. Overall, an amazing band that never disappoints. I'd suggest you check out Tanzwut as well, especially the old songs.
greetings from Köln/Cologne....some instruments they use (Drehleier, Sackpfeife (ugs. Dudelsack), Schalmei, Nyckelharpa, Harfe, Cister, Trumscheit, Hackbrett, Tabla, Davul und Klangbaum.) are made by themselfs (Dr.Pymonte)....another great song is "Herr Mannelig" a swedisch ballade in medieval style.
Schandmaul would be another beautifull band with the song Leb. That one is truly awesome. This band thou is a lidle bit more, hm melodic if I could say so.
@@leone.6190 what?!? I‘d say the exact opposite. They started very folky and became more and more rock. Compare Teufelsweib from Wahre Helden (1998) to the new version from the best of So weit, So gut. The biggest change in tone came after Hubsi left the band and Hias joined. The same progression can be seen with other related bands: Feuerschwanz, Fiddler‘s Green and Versengold for instance all included more and more modern rock instruments, percussion and distorted guitars.
@@gi0nbecell yeah, you are right in that regard. I also love their folkyer/acoustic side. ("Nackt" tour) I ment the development of later years. The (in my opinion) over-use of electronic elements and new trap beats and popy Refrains. (Songs like "Island") I don't hate it, for it still has classic sts elements and I won't complain about them trying out new things, for it is their good right to do so, but I just don't enjoy it as much as older stuff. Best wishes. 🤘
Nice one! I discovered In Extremo when they played Liam in a television show. In this show every of the german federal states introduced one of their bands. I was completely stunned by this performance back then. I guess this was the time when they and others popularized this genre of music to the broad public in Germany. They also do regular shows in castles and other historic sites. If you want to get a feeling of how this open air live performances feel, I recommend checking out their Loreley Concert :)
My (step) brother was named after that Song 14 years ago, and with 9 (so 5 years ago) he was already headbanging and rocking to it, although he has a severe disability and cant speak completly ❤❤❤ this year my parents traveld with him to wacken( also first time for my parents) and he was absolutly exited and Happy after that week :) Lovley greets from Germany, keep on rocking 🤘😎
I started listening to In Extremo in the early 2000s. "Mein Rasend Herz" is still one of my favorite Album of them. So definitly nice to see where your musical Journey is going. Keep going on, I am excited to see what u will explore next. Oh and about bands with visual gimmicks... *inhales* Check out Cypecore..."The Alliance" or "Saint of Zion"
As you mentioned festivals..... at one of those medieval festivals, there was a band perfoming called "corvus corax" - that was like 15-20 years ago by now. No idea if they are still around. But if they are, they may be interesting to check out as well.
Great comment and we're going full medieval here - still got my ticket for MPS - medieval phantasy spectaculum and every song just makes my anticipation for the start of festival season a bit easier - thx a lot The newest song performed by a german band we will surely listen to live is from Versengold -- so I throw *Versengold - Die wilde Jagd* (Wild Hunt) into the arena for voting as it was released 11 of June 2021
Great reaction video. I like very much that you always share detail information about the gear and production of a band. And especially that you go the extra mile and research the history of the bands. If you like In Extemo, I think you should also check out Coppelius...
In Extremo's singer Michael Robert Rhein actually used to live down the street from my parents. I was friends with his step daughter in school so I met him and we had a few beers. He's really an awesome down to earth guy. Had a blast when he came to my band's concert and jammed to our music. 😁
It's been a long time since i last was so excited for a reaction video. Her mannelig is one of my favourit numbers because of the singers voice. Unfortunately Spotify is putting it in and take it out and replacing it with a newer version once in a while 🤷🏻♂️
hey Tank ^^ thanks again for the great video. I love In Extremo. But as you said they were the originators of the genre, I have to step in here and give you some other bands to listen to :) If we are talking about German Folk metal (or Mittelalter Rock/medieval rock) , the originators were Subway To Sally (founded 1992) after them bands like In Extremo, Schandmaul, Corvus Corax (they were actually founded in 1989 already, but were playing classic folklore style only and started in 1996 with electrical instruments - this led to the sideproject Tanzwut) and Saltatio Mortis followed. The Genre Folk Metal started earlier than that and the british band Skyclad are credited as originators with their 1992 album "the wayward sons of mother earth" Must say i didn't know Skyclad either xD but wikipedia told me about them ^^ I just knew that Subway To Sally were founded earlier than In Extremo and especially on their first album were very much Medievil Rock :) I hope some of that information is helpful :) Also you definitely should check out Knorkator ^^ - complete different genre though
In Extremo is my all-time favorite band. I started listening to metal with the album "Weckt die Toten". It had the fan favorite song "Spielmannsfluch". That song changed so much for so many people, including me. Tank you HAVE to listen to it. Greetings from Germany (obviously 😅)
I've been two Wacken Open Air a few times, and saw a fair number of other concerts, but honestly In Extremo delivered the best show I've been to by far, the singer so knows how to fire up a crowd. We hardly even minded that the ambient moisture in that small venue was so high that it started raining from the cold ceiling halfway through. also, please consider taking a look at THE AGONIST - In Vertigo - Vicky Psarakis - One-Take Live Vocal Performance. she only released it like an hour ago and I thought she did really rather well
I'm so looking forward to this! I saw them live at a Festival and it was so much fun! If you want to react to more folk/medieval rock/metal I'm already so excited for you! I wish I could discover some of these Bands for the first time again :D
In the last years, they performed a little concert on a ship on the river Rhine. Couple of hundred people, this Band and some kind of "low voltage" Songs. Some of the best concerts i've been to...
Good evening Tank I heard Inextremo 2015 of the castle in Rudolstadt it was an super event 🤘 You have to a trip to Germany 🇩🇪 you are welcome all the time 😀
They had a "guest" appearance in the video game "gothic" which is the way i got into them :) If you ever played the game or wanna check a video with their perfomance in there
I believe they removed their performance from the version that was sold internationally, due to licensing issues. At least they did at the time. Maybe it was restored later on. But at least there should be videos from the original version with their concert online. It was also my first time listening to them. My brother knew about them and was really into them and Schandmaul and Subway to Sally at the time, but aside from a small number of songs it took me a long, long time before I really started listening to them. I love the video of the concert at the Lorelei. Such a beautiful venue and an amazing performance.

One gusty day
When she lay despairing
The storm blew, the waves broke
On the day her love died at sea
The night wind cried

Her lost love
Liam, Liam, I will always be forlorn for you

In her father's boat
She left with the rising sun
She sailed day and night
She beseeched the Gods

They took mercy on her
Far out to sea
She met with a ship

I'll be with you soon

Is my love amongst you?
The waves struck him overboard,
The wild sea bore him away with her"

She cried loud and shrill
Far out to sea
Her tears disappeared into the ocean
Liam, Liam, I will always be forlorn for you
Liam, Liam, I have love for the sea
Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam
It's in Irish Gaelic, and they have a German version too.
Thanks for the translation!!
I just love the fact, that whilst normally, all eyes focus on America in terms of pop culture and music, now, for a short amount of time, America is glimpsing back to the world on this channel, realising that there is awsome stuff going on abroad as well =)
We just love it when other countries enjoy our music 🥰
Man, I looooooooove In Extremo! I was introduced to them via their song "Vollmond" while in high school. Found their album "Verehrt und Angespien" and fell in love. They're an amazing band.
you can hear In Extemo for hours and hours, they did a lot of different languages and a big amount of styles. there are some rock songs, some medival rock songs, ballads, some king of authentic medival music or even covers like "this corrosion". if you dont know them: take some hours time and enjoy!
"Vollmond" is my favorite song of In Extremo. So beautiful.
Greetings from Germany! I have seen In Extremo several times Live, allways a great fun!
Another german here who loves your channel.
Did you know that In Extremo build a lot of their instruments themselves?
I’ve heard that. Super awesome!
My favourite band, my favourite song of said band, reacted too by one of my favourite react channels, cant wait to see more of InEx on your channel!!
Greetings
Thanks a ton!
When I was touring Europe by bicycle few years ago, I decided to do a 500km detour to see them play in Ukraine, for one of the best show in my life. Discovered them when I was 18, you should check some old stuffs ( like Kuss Mich, or Vollmond, but also many songs in foreign languages ( old french, latin, spanish, icelandic....) while the most recent ones are in German only
In Extremo cool 😎👍
Thank you Tank this reaction was great. 🙏
Great Reaction , great Band , i Love how much of Research you put in this Videos .
You have to check out "Herr Mannelig" from their 20 years anniversary-show in 2015 at the Loreley. Great song and great live performance!
Love your channel, man! Keep it going!
I knew you would like it! Lots of love from Germany :) Hope you had a nice day with your family :D
hippity hoppity, this commentsection is now Staatseigentum der Bundesrepublik Deutschland - i know, i know, an older meme, but i thought i'd dust it off for this particular video ;D And what a video it is!
In Extremo are LIFE. They even have songs in languages that are extinct now 😁😍
I love In Extremo.
I know them since I was 5 or 6 years old and they are my all time favorite.
Some lyrics in english:
On a winter's day
When he was not lying by her side
A storm raged, breaking the waves
When her sweetheart set sail
The night wind howled
Howled it in her ear
Far out
Your sweetheart was lost
Liam, Liam,
I am always with you
Liam, Liam,
I, too love the sea
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam
Soon, I will come to you
With her father's boat
She followed in the dawn
Sailed for many days and nights
Prayed to all the powers that be
Destiny bowed
Bowed, had mercy on her
Far out
There she found
There she found the ship
Liam, Liam,
I am always with you
Liam, Liam,
I, too love the sea
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam
Soon, I will come to you
Captain, speak freely,
Is my sweetheart with your crew?
Waves took him overboard
The wild sea pulled him away
The girl cried
She cried so much
Far out
The tears ran
into the sea
Liam, Liam,
I am always with you
Liam, Liam,
I, too love the sea
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam,
Liam, Liam
Soon, I will come to you
1st of all: you're awesome.
I like In Extremo and i love to see that you enjoyed it too.
But i'm sooo exited for the knorkator Video!!!
Pronounce it like KNOR-KA-TOR ! Stumpen's Voice is Mindblowing for sure !
Slight emphasis on the second syllable. The lead singer has a *very* impressive vocal range.
Probably requires a decent understanding of german to appreciate most of what they do, though.
@@Llortnerof my thoughts exactlly, without propper german, Knorkator is quite weird.
@@Schulzffw Well, let's be honest, even with proper german they still are. You just understand what they're saying.
I saw this band three times in my city, here in Spain..... and they killed it three times.Great shows and nice people in stage.
This really takes me back to when I lived in Berlin about twenty years ago. Saw this band there during my year and a half. Oh, such good times!
Omg soooo much memories 😍 I literally grew with those bands (not really age-wise but mentally - my first boyfriend got me into this medieval folk (metal) scene with bands like In Ex, Schandmaul, Saltatio, Subway to Sally etc. in ~2007) I was 17 and was just learning what it means to be an adult and to stand up on my own at that time and all those bands really helped me growing and kind of surpassing myself ❤ And I'm so so happy that they're now getting attracted overseas, because as much as I know, they're mostly known in central Europe and they deserve so much more ❤
Heard Küss Mich on a record label dvd in the early 2000s. I think Frei Zu Sein is my favourite song
You should check out "Vollmond", "Spielmannsfluch" (the first song i ever heard from them), "Herr Mannelig" and "Ai Vis Lo Lop"
this Song is so beautiful, always watering my eyes.
This style of music kicks you so hard live... there is no better "Partymusic" in my book to just have a great time freaking out and enjoying the sh*t out of! ;)
The good thing is he won't understand the dumb lyrics of this band for simpletons.
@@DerDervish Subways albums from 1995 to 2005 are all great. Ihave quite a few In Extremo albums, but Subway had been allways my favorites.
Tank ? What is happend ? 98700 Subscriber ? Wauuuuuuuuuuu , you deseved it. Boooooom , with the Music from Germany it's starting Up. Not long and you are in the 100.000 Club 👍👍👍👍👍👍🇩🇪🇺🇸

In Extremo was my favourit Band when I was a Teen. Love it
In Extremo was one of the Last concert i've seen before Corona at Amphi Festival in Cologne. First Time tja Investoren seen them was in 1998. Love them much.
Goddamn Tank Maybe you remember me. I am not sure. I was one of these few people who allways recommended No bullets Fly from Sabaton. 2 day of Fun!
Finaly you are the First of the Big React Channels who Listen to In Extremo Thank you Tank Greeting from Rostock where In Extremo has a vary large Fanbase ;D
I saw them 11 times, great live band - they usually have some nice pyro shows, too. Even lost my shoes and my wallet during one of their sets - great memories.
Cheers and keep up the good work, dude!
Greetings from Germany :) You did a great choice with In Extremo :)
Great choice, Tank! Also reeeeally love the facts you're giving as well! A more recent IE song I can really recommend is 'Troja'. Cheers! :)
Nice pick! I think "Küss mich" of In Extremo was the song, that made them pretty big. Was the first song I've heard of them as well. And... Yeah well greetings from Germany 🇩🇪😁
Is that an original song or is it any relation to the Rammstein sing if the same name?
@@TankTheTech it's an original song :) the lyrics are really different as well, while Rammsteins song is more on the sexual route, In Extremos "Küss mich" is more of an (obsessive and one sided) love song
now you officially made it to my favorite band ;) thank you!
Shit yeah Knorkator Reaction will be fcking awesome!! They have so much fun stuff!
Great reaction and profund recherche. There are so many more good songs of In Ex. Way to go. Love it. Greets from GE
Awwww...my heart❤ haven't heard this song for a while. Thank you for this reaction. Love it!❤
You need to see the "My Mother told me" Version by Saltatio Mortis. Not only the Song but the Video is fcking epic :D
Checking out out soon!
Schandmaul would be another beautifull band with the song Leb. That one is truly awesome. This band thou is a lidle bit more, hm melodic if I could say so.
yeah, as the years progressed. Older stuff was more hard core. :D
Yes! Definately check out more bands. Subway to Sally or Tanzwut for example! Saltatio Mortis has released a new (cover)song, too - it's great!
This was crazy cool. I gotta do a deep dive on these guys! Thnx Tank - Thnx Germany!
I started listening to In Extremo in the early 2000s. "Mein Rasend Herz" is still one of my favorite Album of them. So definitly nice to see where your musical Journey is going. Keep going on, I am excited to see what u will explore next.
Oh and about bands with visual gimmicks...
*inhales*
Check out Cypecore..."The Alliance" or "Saint of Zion"
As you mentioned festivals..... at one of those medieval festivals, there was a band perfoming called "corvus corax" - that was like 15-20 years ago by now. No idea if they are still around. But if they are, they may be interesting to check out as well.
Great comment and we're going full medieval here - still got my ticket for MPS - medieval phantasy spectaculum and every song just makes my anticipation for the start of festival season a bit easier - thx a lot
The newest song performed by a german band we will surely listen to live is from Versengold -- so I throw *Versengold - Die wilde Jagd* (Wild Hunt) into the arena for voting as it was released 11 of June 2021
Great reaction video. I like very much that you always share detail information about the gear and production of a band. And especially that you go the extra mile and research the history of the bands.
If you like In Extemo, I think you should also check out Coppelius...
Omg you did it! You reacted to to In Extremo
In Extremo's singer Michael Robert Rhein actually used to live down the street from my parents. I was friends with his step daughter in school so I met him and we had a few beers. He's really an awesome down to earth guy.
Had a blast when he came to my band's concert and jammed to our music. 😁
Ehre Tank, you deserve it :) i realy like to watch you
It's been a long time since i last was so excited for a reaction video. Her mannelig is one of my favourit numbers because of the singers voice. Unfortunately Spotify is putting it in and take it out and replacing it with a newer version once in a while 🤷🏻♂️
hey Tank ^^ thanks again for the great video. I love In Extremo.
But as you said they were the originators of the genre, I have to step in here and give you some other bands to listen to :)
If we are talking about German Folk metal (or Mittelalter Rock/medieval rock) , the originators were Subway To Sally (founded 1992)
after them bands like In Extremo, Schandmaul, Corvus Corax (they were actually founded in 1989 already, but were playing classic folklore style only and started in 1996 with electrical instruments - this led to the sideproject Tanzwut) and Saltatio Mortis followed.
The Genre Folk Metal started earlier than that and the british band Skyclad are credited as originators with their 1992 album "the wayward sons of mother earth"
Must say i didn't know Skyclad either xD but wikipedia told me about them ^^
I just knew that Subway To Sally were founded earlier than In Extremo and especially on their first album were very much Medievil Rock :)
I hope some of that information is helpful :)
Also you definitely should check out Knorkator ^^ - complete different genre though
Yay! "Liam" is one of my favourite songs of all time! I'm glad that you choose this one to react to.
Now I am sitting here, looking at my medieval clothes and my LARP gear, while listening to In Extremo. Oh man, melancholic feelings confirmed.
I've been two Wacken Open Air a few times, and saw a fair number of other concerts, but honestly In Extremo delivered the best show I've been to by far, the singer so knows how to fire up a crowd. We hardly even minded that the ambient moisture in that small venue was so high that it started raining from the cold ceiling halfway through.
also, please consider taking a look at THE AGONIST - In Vertigo - Vicky Psarakis - One-Take Live Vocal Performance. she only released it like an hour ago and I thought she did really rather well
As someone from Scotland i have to say i LOVE the taste in this tshirt! xD
Haha. Thanks!
Did you recognize the Irish Gaelic in the song? 😁
I'm so looking forward to this! I saw them live at a Festival and it was so much fun!
If you want to react to more folk/medieval rock/metal I'm already so excited for you! I wish I could discover some of these Bands for the first time again :D
Nice Glasgow Clan shirt, best logo in hockey, maybe even in sports in general. Great video as per usual. Have to look into In extremo.
I saw the Thumbnail and thought: ok here rocks our Tank!
