I used Kiwi Grip Gray on my swim platform about 8 years ago. Still looks like the day I did it. Hasn’t faded chipped or stained. It’s the best product of this type I’ve ever seen.
Makes me think about doing it to my 1984 375 V, I have a older motor than you, 1987 175 Johnson VRO. But like yours my boat flys too. I will want to see how you retro the deck, we have simaliar boat's so you're videos help me a lot. Keep up vids man good job.
Be glad you weren't doing this in Texas SUmmer heat, lol! I was, and the same time/date as you were. Different companies seemed to use different types of adhesives. I ended up using the orange stripper and it worked the best. Acetone, paint stripper, and even sanding weren't making a dent. Finally finished my 98 Nitro 700LX, so now it's time to base coat and then Raptor liner. How is the Kiwi Holding up so far?
Oh yah I bet! It was only pushing 95 degrees. And it has held up great! It is a little difficult to keep clean as the ridges love to trap dirt and oil.
Got the same grip paint. Works well. Whag bow roller is that? I need a new one. I saw one like that on Amazon but the reviews say the plastic is hard and brittle and some peoples boats got damaged from it
I thought about doing something like this so I UA-cam that and got your video in man does that look good thank you very much for showing me how to do it
Just seeing this comment, I had the boat a year after this before selling it, the product held up great only thing I would do in the future would be to used white again, it was extremely difficult to keep clean, overall I would still recommend it!
Since you were working under the console anyways, you should have taken the time to grind down the area where it meets the floor, and lay down a couple strips of 1708 mat. Looks like an area that could use some reinforcement. After fishing from the non-skid deck of my center console boat, I really want to eliminate the carpet in my classic bass boat. Kiwi-grip is one alternative I've been considering.
Fantastic vid. I've been wanting to do this to my bayliner 175. Any follow up thoughts, reviews, regrets, etc now that youve had this product on? Just subscribed. Im local in the Sac area and love supporting local content makers. Continued success, man. Tight lines!! 🤘🎣
Nice video.. I fish the Delta too, watch lot of your videos, good stuff. I’m redoing the carpet in my 95 Ranger and was looking for an alternative for under the console sides, which run carpet for whatever reason. Was looking to texture and ran into your video.. good stuff man, thanks for the info and maybe see you out at the Delta one of these times..
They have been mild but, the damn sun feels way more hot when your directly in it. Garage + summer in Cali is not fun! Looks pretty clean BeardedBassassin!
Hey bearded bassin looks like it turned out great! Really digging the videos and your editing. What do you use to make your music and beats? Or do you just pull uncopyrighted music off the internet?
About to Kiwigrip my bass boat instead of re-carpeting. Boat hull is fiberglass but my hatch doors are all aluminum. Recommend priming raw aluminum with acrylic corrosion resistant primer first. Then apply the kiwi after full cure of primer. I might make a vid on this.
Hey man. Whats your overall review on the kiwi grip. Thinking about doing my entire deck with it instead of carpet. Is it soft enough, and how hot does it get on the feet?! I fish Lake Okeechobee and it gets warm down here!!! New sub man, keep busting the vids!
First time I am watching one of your videos. Good stuff. If possible, you should try to match the music with the voice in terms of volume. Everytime the music came on, I had to turn down the volume and then raise it when it went off. Not a criticism of the music itself. Just the uneven volume in the video. Otherwise, I loved it.
90% watching clean up with annoying techno 80s music. 5% actually seeing how it was applied. 1% seeing anything that showed the finished product.....not so much. But I did get to see the product name really fast.

It’s did well for the 2yrs I had the boat.
I just got a boat that has carpet and wanted to do this.. thank you for making this video
Yes sir!
FF 2 years. Still happy you did it? Going to do my aluminum tracker. Wonder if it would last? Removing oh hell no
I sold the boat after a year and it held up really well, only thing was a pain to clean, if I did it again I wouldn’t chose white.

Aaron Turner Fishing yah man I’ll continue to record anytime I add something to the mix.

@@BeardedBassin Thanks for the info! Originally from your area, miss the low humidity, lol. Used to fish the delta when I was a kid.
Where did you get them seats? I like them a lot!

Austen Azevedo I bought the one on amazon. It has held up so far.
@@BeardedBassin its not too hard on the boat? Read the material was like a rock

Daniel Johnson absolutely. Glad it worked out for you.
So this was 3 years ago… I think a Lot of People would be interested in an update/review of how it all worked out.
Thanks!

I do my own work, but I might hire this out I got an Allison xb21 and gonna put sea dek in.
Can’t go wrong with the sea deck!
OK - Been 4 years since you did this video - how is it holding up?
I have since sold the boat. But the two years after the install it held up great!!!
How has it held up? Any issues with staining, cracking, peeling, etc...?
Had it for a year after this and had no issues

Regrets maybe a darker color, shows less dirt, I had this boat for a year and it held really well just dirt showed easy on the white.

The foot controller on your trolling motor. Did you do that yourself or get the boat that. I would love to have that for my 89 ranger.
Robert stisubieB it was like that when I bought it. It’s an easy install. Measure twice cut once.
I’m considering this on my Four Winns ski boat.
You're a sav keep up the videos... Represent that NorCal...
So, a year in, how's it hold up
ClubMayview so far so good. Only down side to it is cleaning it. It’s so porous that it taps every speed of dirt and grime.
excellent prep!
Very nice!
Jeffrey Bates thanks man worked good. All day in 100 degree weather and was cool to the touch!

Nice step-by-step brother. She's coming together nice
Mr B Lure Company not too bad for an old gal
@@BeardedBassin those 300 series hulls and decks were built to last.

The Dude 925 thanks man I appreciate it and I grab all my music from the UA-cam library
why not use a wire wheel?
Can I use that for an aluminum floor boat??
Yes it can adhere to metal wood or fiberglass

I don’t see the video of the whole boat with the non skid did you do the entire boat or just the main area
I did just the floor at that point and recarpeted the deck.
Very nice cartpet
Looks good man
Dylan Miller thanks man
That is a badass beard

👏🏼👍🏻looks good
Looks Great! Did you hit a lake over the weekend?
Joe Cabral I did. New Melones vid coming soon.
@@BeardedBassin Great! cant wait
Were you in Special Forces? Just asking, given the flag on the wall.
I was not, but come from a long line of em.
Music to voice audio is off. Your voice is too quiet for the music you blast during the time lapse
Music volume almost sends me to hospital. 😖
