    I applied 1 liter onto aprox 24sqft inside the cabin of my boat. Did white w/ the “aggressive” texture over dark blue and in 1 coat and the coverage is very good. Can’t see the blue at all w/ 1 coat. The roller pores do start to fill as the paint sets so make sure you have everything taped and nothing in the way so you can move quickly. Looks pro and super easy to do.

    All that is fine but of no use when you guys can't seem to get the product out! Amazon is showing it out of stock with no replenishment date forecast. For those of us who live where we need to do internet shopping it would be useful for any product to be in stock on a normal basis!!

    Do you have to cover the kiwi grip with a topcoat or is this sufficient?

    • @PYIinc
      @PYIinc  3 роки тому

      No, you do not need to cover KiwiGrip with anything. Doing so could hinder the non-skid properties.

    do i need to put primer down on aluminum or fiberglass

    • @PYIinc
      @PYIinc  2 роки тому

      Metals require a primer to protect the underlying metal from rust, oxidation, or corrosion. KiwiGrip is compatible with all primers. Apply primer per the manufacturer’s instructions. Sand primer lightly with 100 - 220 grit. Wipe up dust at least 3 times with damp rags. No need to apply primer on epoxy-fiberglass. If the epoxy includes wax, this must be completely washed away with a de-waxing agent. Then sand well with 50 - 100 grit paper. Wash well with degreasing soap and water.

      it is. I just put some on my sailboat, white with medium/light texture. Looked dirty pretty fast, i thought OK no big deal I'll just clean more often. Went to clean today, with brush and hose dirt didn't come up at all.

    Since you didnt take the time to include a smooth finish, Im to conclude KiwiGrip isn't good paint if wanting a smooth finish?

    • @PYIinc
      @PYIinc  3 роки тому

      As KiwiGrip was designed for non-skid purposes, it wasn't intended to be applied as a smooth finish. A smooth finish would be difficult to achieve with a paint roller.

    Do I neeed to pre primer the surface I’m coating or can I just sand clean and apply??

    • @PYIinc
      @PYIinc  3 роки тому +1

      It depends on the surface material. Metal and wood require some type of sealer such as an epoxy primer to protect the underlying surface from water damage as KiwiGrip is not a water barrier. For gel-coat or epoxy fiberglass scuff the surface and thoroughly clean with soap and water. A de-waxing agent is required if the surface has been waxed within 5 years. Bought this stuff for my boat. Read the instructions and did some test panels. Then covered my boat. So I could do it in the shade. Looks like crap wasted 350.00 not to mention sand paper tape etc. now I half to sand it off and do something else. Don’t do it. You will regret it.

    • @Figment078
      @Figment078 2 місяці тому

      That's pretty much the process I was planning on following. Assuming that the test panels looked good or you wouldn't have gone ahead... can you say what specifically was different about how it looks on the boat? was it a matter of the cover keeping the humidity in the air extending the drying time and letting the peaks flatten-out?
