The best option to me would be to take the Ghostbusters video game from 2009) and replace the third person view of your character with a VR camera. I hope one day we get a VR Ghostbusters game designed by people who actually LOVE the franchise and know what fans want.
Sony really need to invest in a hybrid team at Playstation to help port first and third party flat screen games rather than try and support AAA standalone VR when most developers don't have the time, money or sometimes talent to bring big budget to VR only. Please port games like Uncharted 4 and GOW Ragnarok Sony!
A hybrid first party port studio would be the greatest thing to ever happen to VR
Terminator Resistance and Robocop Rogue city too
Exactly, something like Bluepoint but built for VR@@WithoutParole
@@WithoutParole Agreed, Sony would be pure genius if they made their own VR-hybrid studio to fix this low quality VR flood we are suffering thru do to other headset makers not standardizing Eye-tracking/FV on all headsets, instead they push out one hour battery life crap with no eyetracking/FV, so that we are stuck in this low quality game Dev hell. If all headsets had eyetracking devs could make higher quality games easier. Sony has eyetracking because they realized its a must-have to make games pretty & realistic games without having to have a rip-off supercomputer...
we need to write Sony this idea over and over somehow so they can make profit from their own hybrids before its to late.
@@therealmoviemanThat's genius. Robocop would go from a mediocre game to a VR gem instantly.
Let's hope the game is allowed to cook.. for a very long time..
N dreams deserves the chance to rescue it.
Another issue I notice when smooth rotation enabled: the axis of rotation is behind your head insted of being in the center of your head (as it is in the quick rotation mode and all the other VR games), that causes uncomftable weird movility all time.
All you gotta do is take Ghostbusters: The Video Game, and port it into VR. There. Done. :)
Exactly. All we want are VR versions of great flatscreen games. As much as I liked Call of the Mountain, I would have LOVED Zero Dawn 100x more
And while they're on it I also want the last of us, Uncharted, God of war and spiderman ported... It's not as easy :)
@@WithoutParoleAlso, how come we haven’t gotten Hitman on PSVR2? 🤷♂️
@@erics489 dude IO Interactive took so much shit from PSVR and PCVR players about the controls (and probably saw very little money for their efforts) --- I can't imagine they want to go through that again
@@WithoutParole Oh wow I didn’t know they got such bad feedback
I agree with your review. I've got the Platinum trophy and I don't see myself returning to this game unless they add a lot more content.
Is the platinum obtainable playing solo? Can't say I have anyone to play it with so I'm hesitant to buy it
Thanks for the money-saving Bryan. I would only ever play this with my sons which means I need to own the PSVR2 version and the Quest Version. Unless they both go on sale there is no way I would be in for the asking price.
I just bought this on a sale and it's a fun game overall. I think they chose a really odd direction for their art design, but allowing some of the new GBs from the newer movies as skins, the addition of classic jump suits, and constantly adding new content has been smart. The only thing that's a bit rough is that because they chose a kind friendly aesthetic there are a LOT of little kids playing it when your quickplay. Most of the kids some pretty good-natured compared to the foul-mouthed little gremlins you meet playing something like Population One, but know that if you play this during the daytime or peak afterschool times, you're GOING to get at least one or two kids in your party.
I tend to play it later at night in hopes that most of them are in bed, but when I DO get adults in my party it's a lot of fun. You'll probably get the best results out of playing this with friends that have headsets.
Hey! I'm glad you're enjoying this more than I did. I played with my friends (and cohosts) so I think I got the optimal experience --- guess it's just not for me.
And those giant pop-ups! They really need to get rid of those and figure out another way to show/tell you what to do.
Thanks for the review, I’ll wait for a sale.
Spot on this could have been so good!
How about, the next time a developer decides to create an 80s game, they do it based solely on polls taken by VR owners older than 15?
Always honest, thanks Bryan. I think your score is spot on
Nice review, I got sick with this game, even when I've been playing VR since 7 years without motion sickess, exept for 4 specific PSVR1 titles that (as Ghostbusters RotGL) also combine the movement direction by headset+control insted of being directed just by controller (my personal favorite) or just by headset. This game has an issue too with the roration axis wrongly located far behind the head (insted of being in the center) when turning with smooth rotation enabled, other 2 angle rotation modes have the axis right located. I've informed this to developers trough nDreams website and perhaps they can fix it if more users inform it aswell.
You've save us so much money. Thank you so much Brian you guys are awesome. Congrats on 100k subscribers 🎉
Let down after let down, PSVR2 is on a streak lately.
I wouldn't ever consider selling my headset but latest games have been a disaster.
Spirits Unleashed already exists and is far superior. Why didn't they just do a VR mode for that? I'm sure Sony could've struck an agreement.
I agree but its one of the only few vr games i have fun to do, im going to max everything and hope for more content
🔥🔥🔥
Already dxoected this to flip hard and it did
Gtreat review Brian.....Now...WHERE IS OUR PINBALL?
Dude I know. We need to stage a protest outside Zen Studios! :D
This is one of those games that can be awesome after 6 months or a year or so, IF the devs put the effort in.
This didn't look like my jam from the very first time I saw it, so it's an easy skip, but it's a shame for Ghostbustin' fans who like this style of game. Luckily Robocop is filling my 80's movie game void right now at least. (Man, that game would be great in VR).
This is nothing wat i wanted from a ghostbusters game
You think there would at least be a different boss for each area
Also the loading screen should have been everyone in the ecto one didn't have to be drivable just a moving simple environment for a few seconds
Thanks for the review Bryan. I'm keeping my hard earned money in my pocket for another game. Such a shame. Was really looking forward to this when it was first announced.
Well that's disappointing. I missed the whole Ghostbusters train as a kid. Saw this and thought it might be fun.
Shocking
I'll wait for the GOTY version
Saved me money again Brian.... patreon is worth it every month....£12 at a maximum this should be. Gutted to be seeing quite a few underwhelming games lately coming out. Again great review and saved me money 💷
Ouch
I put this one on Sony I believe Ndreams gave Sony exactly what they wanted, likely something safe, something family oriented and something with a Fortnite appeal
Oh man I wish Rise of the Ghost Lord had Fortnite appeal. I fucking LOVE Fortnite lol :D
@@WithoutParole nobody's perfect, hon 💖
@@WithoutParole yeah too bad Meta bought Population One , I think it would've found great success on PSVR 2 , thanks for responding and naturally I'll be tuning in to you and A.J. this evening ✌️
Yea Ghostbusters is one of those things that should just be left in the past
To play it online do i need friends Or it could be with random people?
You can totally play with randoms. Whenever we've opened up the room (from Private to Public) we get people joining us immediately
Ghostbusters! A-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaahhh
Hahaha, one of my first games on the C64. With the vacuum cleaner on the hood.
he slimed me!
I was going to buy it until i found out u cant drive ecto 1.. thanx for the review
Slimed again.

Bryan - Ven has disappeared from the PS store...stealth drop any day?! #gamecat
😲
This game gave me a terrible headache, and I normally don't experience VR sickness at all. I'm wondering what the frame-rate is on this one?
I'm just guessing but it feels like a native 90. No framerate issues here and no reprojection as far as I can tell...
I have the same issue! It feels like the focal points are off and my eyes strain to keep focus on my surroundings.
It's getting to the point where it's not safe to pre-order games anymore
We're definitely at that point. Hopefully we all learned a few lessons over the last month - and maybe if we stop preordering games, developers will get the hint
Lol it’s never been safe to do that. Only posers do that.
@@arios1977 lol not necessarily true. At least for regular games. I'm new to the VR world and I'm noticing a lot of inconsistencies with these games
@@Brasslantern007 no I mean "getting" there. Every game has bugs on release, but now they are releasing games with barely any content.
@@arios1977posers? Lmao people who are excited by a game, suspect they will enjoy it and pre order are posers??? Lol
There's no campaign/story mode or boss fights really
Shame. Such a wasted opportunity.
Sounds like a normal game release for the modern day: Okay, but broken and unpolished until they give us too little too late long after release. This and FF16 were my two biggest disappointments for the year. 😥 😔
Oh man I only heard good things about FF16. That's disappointing to hear
I'm interested to know what disappointed you about FF16. As a fan of the franchise it felt like a love letter to the legacy of the franchise.
If even this game is disappointing, then the prospects of VR2 are really worrying. How many outstanding works can be launched within a year? Playstation promoted VR2 with outstanding works such as Call of the Mountain/GT7/RE8, but players now find that the subsequent games are like small works for children...a bit deceptive.
RE4 would like a word with you...
@@WithoutParoleI'm looking forward to it too. Fortunately, VR2 also has Capcom's support.😊
@kxacd789 you gotta wonder if Capcom would support PSVR2 if Sony wasn't paying them millions of dollars to do so... my guess is probably not
This is free right now I think for ps plus members and I’ll still pass 😂😂😂😂😂
Ain't picking PSVR2 up untill Astro bots: Rescue Mission 2
Everybodys Golf
Wipeout
Killzone 3 remaster
Resistance 4
Spider-Man VR title at least ten hours long etc etc!
Time Sony stop taking the piss with not only Flat screen IPs and show us updates on them but VR2. Honestly have had enough!".
This always seemed like a dumbed-down version of Phasmaphobia for kids with a Ghostbusters skin slapped on to trigger nostalgia in adults; I haven't played it so maybe I'm completely wrong
Looks and sounds more like Gen Z Ghostbusters VR, no thanks.
I've been having a lot of discussions about this lately. Kids seem to LOVE playing this game (a few squeakers joined us when we made the room public) and it made me wonder if younger gamers are just interested in doing silly things while they hang out with their friends - while older gamers are looking for deeper gameplay mechanics. That's probably oversimplifying it but I do wonder if there's any truth to it...
...Ghostbusters VZR..?
@@WithoutParole
Yea it's a segmented market and I think developers find it hard to key into one demographic it appears..I like firewall cause it's all of us old farts in there.
@@WithoutParoleit does look like it's more on their level with minimal teamwork required. When I look at the footage I'm just thinking why I would play it over Vermintide, Darktide, Deep Rock Galactic, Payday etc
@@WithoutParoleit’s definitely true. That’s why gorilla tag is so popular.
i dont get why the game has a fortnight style when the plethora of people that enjoyed ghostbusters growing up are now middle aged , make one for adults ffs,
Yeah hard pass. Ty man
It’s a pass for me
This hardly looks like it's worth the pricetag.
From your social screen output it doesn't seem to use foveated rendering, still you say it's super-res and 90fps no reprojection? What a waste for a shallow game like this!
In few years we’ll ask ourselves, why PS VR2 didn’t even meet PS VR1 sales numbers. This is one of the examples, 90% of game’s launching in dog shit state. And the only thing it can do is play games.
I keep wondering why people are singling out PSVR2 in these discussions. Quest got this game too --- and a much worse version of it at that....
@WithoutParole I think because of the insane hype psvr2 had before launch.
@drewfinn5369 this is why sony's not happy with us. they weren't ready to talk about hybrid games/AAA games but we leaked that and told everyone. and now people think that sony hasn't delivered on their promises when in truth they never made any promises to begin with.
Agreed 😂with review it was fun and had potential hope it expands
Good review
One more Disappointment……long List this Year 😢
I just downloaded the game from ps plus and I had to restart it 3 times in less than 10 minutes due to bugs and glitches. I found myself pressing the trigger on both controllers trying to shoot the laser or throw the trap and nothing happened. Anyone else had this issue?
Sad, so much potential here... waisted. 👻
