Holy cow Buckin... This older video shows the saw shop in good shape with no clutter. With the addition of the bunker you have collected way too many saws. You need your floor space. Could be time for another building... Maybe a museum that puts out a calendar once a year. All the best to you brother Billy, you have brought a Ray of sunshine into many hearts. Keep that floor space clear because one trip over a chain saw could be one trip to the hospital. Love ya, ya crazzie guy. Tell Lil Buckin hi from ji, i really like his new tools.
Great stuff.Gradually reorganizing my shop, work area & shelves for the saw collection myself.Moving firewood, local hardwood logs & lumber stockpiled outside for the Granberg mill/wood lathe/cabinet shop in backyard so I can build a 2nd shed sometime later this summer. Its a nice feeling when everything is finally in place to make your work space easier to use.I hate wasting time trying to find stuff or having to move something else just to finish a project.
I run a husky 455 rancher all day everyday. Husky and Homelite r my saws of choice. Thanks Buckin for reviving a love for all powersaws in an old man still cutting splitting and stacking my own firewood and making a living with the chainsaw and axe.
just picked up a 266xp, they seem so well built can't wait now to get it cutting into some timber, you're right about the compression, there sure is plenty of that, love what you do buckin keep up the good work.
I am new to your channel and am enjoying the old saws. I am an old geezer now but one of the first jobs I had as a teen ager in the '50s was helping on a city crew. When it was time to take down a tree they broke out this monster of a two man saw.. It was a Mercury brand (not the outboard engine company). It had a two cylinder engine on one end with controls on what reminded you of bicycle handle bars. The other end just had a single handle to help support the beast. I was scared to death of that thing, ha.
Ha! I got put out on the end of one of those! I was scared as anything too thinking the chain would break and kill me. Ha! We were in the big timber back then.
I know this is an old video but this is the first time I’ve watched it and thought it was neat to see someone else with a 266 Xp. I’ve just recently got into tree cutting and my grandpa gave me his 266 Xp to add to my power saw collection. Great saw!
One of my favorite work saws was a 268 with a ported meteor 52mm top end, carb work and muffler mod. Probably one of the best working saws I have ever had. With a 24” cannon bar and semi chisel Carlton chain it was a cutter. Miss that saw.
Hey bucking look at the difference between today and four years ago the power saws are over loading the shed now 😂😂 hahaha great stuff keep it up you getting me through this lock down over in wales huge respect ✊
The Husky 266xp, was my only Husky but it was awesome, a friend would have helped someone in need , as Billy says be kind, I love ya Brother and the rest of the Saw nuts, (that’s us) out there be safe, big love to all.
saw shop??? That's a freakin' museum!!! Wipe your feet boys n girls, and speak only in hushed tones, this is hallowed ground! Hahaha All seriousness aside, I did lots of work with a 266XP but the 272XP was the sweet spot of power to weight; easy to handle in the bush and more than enough power to handle pretty much anything but the big old growth trees. Love the vid's bro, envious of all that old iron you got hanging on the walls!
My fovourite saw of all time was the old husqvarna 272 with 20 inch bar. Great all round saw. Todate is the best saw I have used ergonomically. If I could my hands on another one now I would buy one in 1 second.
Something I love to see you do when your making video's is tell us the type of saw your using , bar length, chain size. Also you show us lots a beautiful old axes you use, so the name and type. Eg sager cause we are fascinated with what you do and how. Even the Spurs and safety belt you use, I reliving my youth thru you youngster. Ps I was using Mcculloch when you were in "buckin" diapers lol
My how things have changed! I could just about count the chainsaws in there! My first spurs were old Buckinghams with the super long 4" spurs and I still climb with them to this day. Super heavy, SUPER hard to sharpen without deforming the profile and feels like tool steel. I climbed the sketchiest tree I've ever ascended with them and they pierce 2.5" thick bark and into the trunk for a solid bite!
I seen the saw shop on a recent video u made n the saw shop is growing bigtimes lmao , it looks awesumeee , u have came a long ways from then till now 2020 soon to be 2021 , wow looks way way different , be a cool before n after video mr buckin , anyways love the videos keeppp onnn buckkkkiinnnn
really like what your doing on the channel, just life really but its interesting... those are some sweet saws... really like those huskys though. I got a 372xp that I love too death that's all I know though is the huskys for the most part started out with my uncle rick and that's all he had and would have. anyway. others polan pro vibrates alittle in the hands.mcalla was my first saw gave too me but no one could getter run in so I did and still have it.lookin forward too more .
Things were made to last back in the old days. I love old equipment. Quality and nostalgia. New stuff just dosen't interest me. Sometimes you have no choice though. Thanks for sharing your saws.
I do get called boring here in the UK from some people as I don't go out everyday for a meal or to a club or pub instead I say I like walking and hiking on weekends camping and biking and enjoy my own company. Which is labelled boring life here apparently. And I get told I should go and do the "non boring stuff"
Never ever ever stop adding to it! Is that a running 65 or 77 husky on the wall. I was broke in on both saws when the saw weighed more than I did. Keep the videos coming.
ran a 288 with that 30 year sticker that you have on one of your 266's a beast of a saw. right now running a jonsered 670. same thing as the 266 except with a open port muffler. whats your opinion on jonsereds? and have you ever worked in production cutting with a skidder and a landing, just a few questions i had really loving the channel here. keep it up.
I broke in Skidder loggin, fell behind a skidder for quite awhile,, operater rareley got out ,, i Fall it, set the bead, and surf it in to the landing, and serviced it there ,,clean bush when were done and a big fire in the landing at the end ,, we used ta call it hot loggin' ..the skidder has a spot in my heart,,, jonyred,s are just Huskys with lipstick good saws
whats up with the no sthl saws. I am a big fan of the 200t but im not a big fan of the husky chunking saws. they just dont last for me. can you shed some light on the perspective. seems like you know more than me. as always awesome videos man.
I have not run really anything in between a fallin' saw and a toppin' saw to speak of,, to me it kinda the ford or chevy thing and not a case of knowing more , but a case of preference..If I like something I stay with it, 25 years ago I was introduced to husky and like how they felt in my hands ,, stihl make great saws , i am just a husky guy , second to McCulloch of course the finest saw ever made in my opinion for the production man
yep spot on, all these fan boys oh stihls shit coz they got a husky or hyskeys shit coz they got a stihl and all that bullshit, it's what works and what you get your hands on, and what gets the job done. the McCulloch's are nice
Very nice collection! I preferred the 288xp for firewood, but the 266 and 268 and 272 were all awesome! I am using a new 372xpw now. Whats your favorite saw to run for production now? whats the first saw you grab when you have a large job to do?

Hi Billy, here would like to ask you, in your video, I counted a little more than 30 chain saws, and I understand you have them all you use, it seems to me you so many chainsaws should be enough for a lifetime, or may easily be 5-6 drank the nicest and quality, and not so many that you have. p.s. if you just do not collect them. thanks
+Buckin' Billy Ray Smith really! Even the new ones? I had a mc C I upgraded it to a husky 435, I love it. But my vid about the mc C is my most popular , must get one up about my new one
Sorry, lost part of my prior comment, the 266 was stolen after a friend borrowed her and used straight gas, I kept it to rebuild, I’m always looking for another, but in the Seattle area we have a bigger Sthil presence, both are great products would be great full to run Esther brand.
Hey Billy Ray, New Subscriber here, got a question..... I don't see many Stills in yer shop. Is that by choice? I would love to here your opinion about them. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
stihl s are great , for me and I think any one who starts out in this game it what saw you perhaps handed back in the day, for me it was husky ,, kinda like a good pair of work boots ,, no blisters just turn key and go, any stihl I have ever run is great aswell , Im just a McCulloch guy , then husky ,, I hope this answeres . and thx so muck for pullin up a stump ,, some great people on here , very proud of the direction of the channel, tell yer freinds and family to sub in let grow this positivity ,, only just begun ,, follow yer heart pal; it never lies.. Buckin'
Hey Buddy Welco.......lol could finish without a laugh! Hope your still enjoying the BBR experience! I believe so saw ya comment not too long ago Be Happy Be Joyful Be Kind Friend!
+James Treeman actually ya no what ive got two walkerized 346s I wood let one go prob, they are rippers for tree work, I had it made for a chunk out saw, but the less time I spend in the tree the better so I chunk with 372s
Is it an mac 380 on the ceiling??! I french and i would l’île tout say if i put an 30in guide bar? Hey, if you see any cool stuff on Craigslist in Vancouver or the Fraser valley, that you would like for the shop, send me a message and I would be happy to pick it up and send it to you. I live in Chilliwack
Hey buck I maybe got a couple of pieces for you to add to your wall I need some help getting parts and rebuilding my 610 Mac. Interested in it if so I have pictures to send
+Josh Osborn YA NO WHATS FUNNY I ACTUALLY LIKE SACS I JUST HAVE NT RUN IN TO THE RIGHT ONE FOR THE SAW SHOP WALL YET . IT LL COME . AND YOU LL BE THE FIRST TO KNOW . THX PAL
+Buckin' Billy Ray Smith I have owned dolmars for almost 20 years.I have had pretty good luck with them I have the 510 and the 5105.Had bad experience with a 5100s but they don't make them any more.Used to have a dealer a few miles away he taught me a lot about taking care of a saw.He had a shop in his garage the floor was clean enough to eat off of.
+Buckin' Billy Ray Smith I had the second 5100S ever woods ported, even had a pipe built for it..Ed Heard out of Ontario ported it and built the pipe. I also have one of the first Dolmar 7900's ever woods ported. Stock a 7900 is close to a 385 and faster than a 372 or 460. Fully woods ported, the 372 wins out..and I've had several! Love them all. Even have a a blue, grey and black Makita, otherwise identical to the 7900. One saw I've never had is a 390 (or 385) I run 660's as they're lighter than a 395..... but do want a ported 390...Also have a 3120 that is gotta be up in the 13 hp range...... it normally sports a 42 or 43" bar, but has seen the 60, and the 72" once, when we did a 10.5 foot sequoia....70 yards of chips, 2 days, 2 long log truck loads...90 ton crane...... crane bill just for the stick was $5500!!!
+Buckin' Billy Ray Smith Loved your vid of the hard leaner where you put in the backcut first. Makes perfect sense..... but I'm not a pro faller.... been climbing for 41 years, though! Subscribing to your page... check mine out..especially my old "2002 Tree Work" vid.....I think a seasoned logger like yourself will like it...... and see why we put in a 70 degree plus open face..wasting a whole 20 board feet......
Holy cow Buckin...

I see you only (apparently) have 200 Stihls. Is that for a reason? Don´t you like bigger Stihls?
Well I´ve just seen those three vintage ones on the left side
