Missed you B Billy Ray, you tube been acting stupid again :) lol always learn, been a fan a long time, loved all the over the road trips.. Thanks from SE Texas Bear > ❤💯🙏 Work Hard - Be Kind one to another ey :)
I think more important than getting each tooth the same length which never happens is keeping the angle consistent on both sides, and keeping your bar rails in good shape. But I do believe it’s smoother when you have similar size teeth on each side. It’s like balancing a tire or a ceiling fan..the bigger the difference the more vibration
SO true when tuning in my rakers I like to use carlton file o plate part no. 37501.. on this gauge you can measure your cutters. . not every stroke with a file cuts the same amount so you can't really count yer strokes. .but do try to keep cutters even in the bush i use file only .we always take bucken spikes off you can make longer cuts. . if you have to pry through the wood. somethins not right ,
Billy I'm getting more patient with my filing, I've realized I'm being cheap and using old files that was a big step up... Lol I'm busy tho dude and a fella spent money at p auto a few years ago and got that grinder. Now I know, she wacks way too much off the chain and it kills them. But gawt damn. Talk about take a beat up chain back to the rock and roll scene again... Lol FAST
My son was sharpening the saw and got distracted and only filed 1 side of the chain. When he put the saw into the next log it was trying to cut circles.
That comment, flip the bar and it'll tell you if it's the bar or the chain... How had that not occurred to me! The raker guage, the amount of "Pro saw users" that just won't use them is unreal. Top video as always Buckin, cheers!
Yes we are REALLY into ufc. I have been watching since UFC 1 when I was 5 years old. Im 36 now. It was absolutely amazing to see that Jones still has ALL the same skills as a 37 year old heavyweight that he had as a 27 year old LHW. Watching Jones fight in the octagon feels like watching Michael Jordan in his prime and also Tiger Woods in his prime. It’s just different. Stipe looked huge and in great shape!
I don't need to worry about my saw cutting crooked because I can't cut a level face cut or back cut to save my aaa...apple pie. 😂 The cuts slope deeper into the stump, and the bar tip is always low. Good thing I'm only cutting my own trees, eh? 😊
Hi Buckin and the Buckin Army, I have a 268 wit the old metal kickback lever with a steel adjustment wheel, when i apply downward force on the saw whilst cutting the handle presses on that wheel and trips the brake. (I have fitted new anti vibe mounts} Any Ideas? Thanks for everything you do and the inspiration you give to others,
Hi. I always enjoy your videos. I would appreciate it if you could elaborate on filing being the cause of the crooked cut. Is it that the angles are inconsistent? Thank you sir.
Appeared to be a Samsquanch- sasquwatch walking through the brush behind Billy as he bucked up that log. May be my eyes but it looked strange. Apx . 10:14-10:24 of /13:13. Have a look. Perhaps there were even two. Any one who's spent time cutting and running a saw knows Billy is 100% on the mark with what he says in regards to filing and running a sharp ,true cutting chain. You can take his word for it or spend years learning the hard way. Remember to be kind ah.
the only thing I've been told is that chains filed unevenly like you've shown increases vibration, however small, when cutting which increases chances of carpal tunnel syndrome ect. but I don'tr see it makes a huge difference
Dude...I frickin love you. Every time I watch and listen to you I learn something. Thank you for doing all this and God bless you.
👍💯😎😊

Live ya brother
Thanks BBR! I am getting better with my saw maintenance. God gives enough so we turn to Him to get through it.

Great video. It reminded me of things i knew but had forgotten .
I wish more folks understood the gravity and depth of your statement about how being honest sets you free.
Pain usually motivates.😊
I am new to chainsaws and the idea that not all teeth have to be the same size when sharpening relieves my stress. lol
Glad to be a part of that
Dang Buckin' sure makes some delicious looking cookies. 🍪
Blessings my friend. Hope you’re staying dry in Cedar been raining a lot last few days eh

Raker height makes a difference. Cutter length does not. Period.

I got the big adjustable motor disc grinder handle bastard mounted up to a pole on a rim for a base

Makes perfect sense I tried to touch up the teeth every gas tank makes it easier to keep up and keep it sharp
Nice tip

Yeah, level cuts are a challenge. Keep cuttin 👍
@HomeSkillets Will do! Got lots more to take down. 😁👍
It’s all in the filing. Where have I heard this? 😂😂

Set the rakers with a gauge and that's not a problem anymore. Raker height matters. Cutter length is irrelevant
To cut straight make sure you keep your teeth at the proper angle… loose wrists sinks ships from experience
If it's cutting crooked then you can try sharpening it right. There you go.
That, is one of my favorite saws right there, just deadliness ✊️👍
Me too brother
I SAW SLEEVES ON THAT T SHIRT AT THE END! THE SKY IS FALLING!
😂
Morning all...
Hello sir
Hi Buckin working on a couple pipes today for my 372
Nice Bry
I found out using a file will make a chain last a lot longer than using a grinder.
It's sharpness and each tooth related to its raker, not each tooth related to the other teeth.
Buckin' do you ever run skip tooth chain when cutting in river bottom ground or other areas where you might get into sand?
Yip
That bark looks like Rockville
It looks like a turtle on top of the log pile.
It’s not. It’s a big snail. 😉
My daughter and Son in law just bought some property in Maine. I want to buy them a chainsaw but I’m not sure what to get.
Who you tryin to kid dude? That thing would cut with a bicycle chain on it. 👍🍻
Hi buckin I looked up the TGP bar oil that you use and it is 115 bucks 😮
That’s right , for 4 jugs . (1 gallon jugs) 28 bucks a gallon
Good day all army
Nice 😊 🤠💪💪💯💯🤙🤙🤙
Dis husqvarna 266xp veri strong aim like 266xp and 266se
