Isn't that a Super Pro 81 Billy? My neighbor sold me one identical that he said was seized up. Turns out his son stuffed rope in the hole while he was doing a repair. His son moved shortly after. I felt guilty only giving him 150 for it since it ran, albeit poorly so I fixed it, cleaned it, painted it, tuned it, & gave it to him for Christmas. New years day he called and said to check my porch. There sat a new Stihl 271 Farm Boss. Being honorable leads to be being honored in return.

I have a beautiful Mac model 47 and I’m thinking about restoring it as best I can and give it to an elderly friend for old time sake. He won’t be cutting any wood with it but just knowing he could is what will bring his smile.

Buckin, you’ve been a huge inspiration for me. I’ve learned so much from your channel. Helene happened here in western North Carolina and I’ve been cutting for 6 to 8 hours a day since! We could really use a man with your skill & experience on the mountain. We have about 5 billion dollars worth of lumber damaged, down @ leaning across the region. Somehow I’m still able to volunteer after 2 months straight. The lord provides 🙌🏼

Beautiful, natural instinct. The Bible tells us, "do not your alms (compassinateness) before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."
Was just on my heart to share. Thank you for everything you do brother.

The sounds that came from the saw while you were tuning are very familiar to people. And if a person don't know how to solve it, they take it to a shop. Your videos have probably saved many people a lot of money. I'm won of them. Thanks again Billy!

I'm a relatively new viewer (2-3 months) and I love all aspects of your videos, especially your raw and honest life stories and philosophies, but also the fact that you have absolutely no problem takin' a second to launch snot darts when needed. 😆For me that says a lot about you. There's just a real genuineness and spirit of true grit about you that is inspiring. Enough smoke. One thing I love about you is that you usually manage to say or show things in a way that is easy to follow and grasp. I love that. HOWEVER... on this video in particular, which I watched specifically because I'm interested in learning tuning, I really wish you had taken just a few more seconds to provide a few details that would have helped me, and maybe others, in making these kinds of adjustments. I was being careful to watch the way you turned your screwdriver while you were using terms like "lean it up" or "fatten it" but it was a little hard to follow. In particular, I would have benefited if you'd actually said clockwise or counter-clockwise, to accomplish those conditions. So I'm deducing that when you say "lean it up" you mean restrict the flow of gas, which means closing a valve, which means turning CW. And of course the opposite is true for "fattening." Then at the recap, at 12:00 mins, you say "turn your jets all the way in. Seat them. Then open them up." The only thing you did to help me out was you spun your right hand CCW when you said open them up. So "open them up" by turning CCW, and "lean it up" or close by turning CW, right? Other than that one gesture, without you saying CW or CCW, I just didn't get a warm and fuzzy on my understanding.🙃 Last thing... you hooked me, and most likely many others, the very first video I watched because at the end you championed the simple and critically important values that are so desperately waning in the world. We need more of that. Thank you for taking up that banner and for being such an encouragement to others to do, say, and think the right things. I've never watched someone get to a million subscribers, but I'm looking forward to seeing it happen. 😀👍

I was blessed enough live in a monastery for some months, and I'm telling you, you are a swammi. A very gifted, beautiful, and powerful one. When you speak of "being free,' it resonates very deeply with me. I am torn when I consider how the powers remove the freedom from regular people (for example, when google decided not to allow me to monetize my political channel, Howell Underground, because I challenged the status quo). I admire you for being free and for not feeling the need to 'suck up' to the rich and powerful entities--not even to your own subscribers. It's a tremendous gift to be able to be completely candid. Almost no one with a big voice (talent agencies call such people 'thought leaders") is allowed to use it in a way that disrupts the powers. This logger's son from Oregon appreciate your message of peace and kindness. May the adversary never succeed in tearing you down or even diluting what you have to say. All the best in this brand new year!

I did this exact thing with my Poulan 4200. Idle screw out off the throttle (would start with throttle)and would not stay running unless i added throttle no matter how I tune the LOW. So i turned idle in so it was barely adding throttle so it would stay running. The idle screw can be a big issue if its turned in to much. Then tuned low for response and get it in the sweet spot. Then tune high. Great lesson. Learned a lot from this good man. Hope to meet him one day!!

As always Billy, thank you for the video, with a tunning session that is very informative. You show us how to stay out the repair shop

Thanks again for this video. I am re watching it. I think it will really help me in checking out why a Stihl 075 I bought second hand that would fire up, but not hold an idle. That part at 15:13 about not having too much idle is something I think will be a key component in sorting out saw carb tuning.

Hay Bucken just wanting to thank you for your awesome channel. I personally have learnt so much about saws and sharpening matenance and just general knowledge about the whole industry in general from you and people whom you have recommended this last year since stumbling onto your blog it would have otherwise taken years to find out just a very small percentage of. I also love your message of love as love is the most important aspect of our so very short time on this planet. I am very much looking forward to seeing what you have instore for all who take the time to watch you this year. Thank you Bless you and may you prosper like never before in all aspects of your life. Yours Brendan.
