- Michael Schaffer shares his unique, abstract style of painting that gives individuals of all ages the opportunity to be an artist. His abstract process allows you to discover the artist within, and gives a simple approach to expressing yourself. By putting your ideas in motion with FW Artist Acrylic Ink, which Michael calls “a secret weapon” in creating art, anyone can express themselves freely through the New Action Art process. He demonstrates a fun, easy, and versatile process of using FW Ink to create a balanced, dynamic, and beautiful abstract painting. Join in on the New Action Art movement, and uncover your artistic spontaneity through colour and movement.
Phase 1: Prepare the canvas. Create a wash on the canvas. Using rubbing alcohol begin the abstract composition. Squirt, drip, or pour acrylic ink. Tip the canvas to mix things up. Allow to dry for 24 hours. - Розваги
he says don't overdo it while he overdo's it
Such a waste of product in the making of this mess
Ide have to sell a kidney to do this. These inks are way over priced and most people wouldn't be able to pour these inks like this....
I just bought 21 bottles of these for a $1.49 at Hobby lobby today. CLEARANCE SALE😊😊😊
Yes, I hit that clearance sale too. I got a lot of Brea Renee stuff also.
I've got drawers full of Hobby Lobby clearance stuff that I have not even used at all!!! I just buy it 'cos it's like 90% on clearance in that 'someday, sometime' I will use this. I need help!!!
Absolutely stunning use of all those colors but I know that brand of acrylic ink is very expensive. I doubt many of us could afford to use that much of those inks on just one canvas. I know I'd have to stop at just adding droplets of ink to the canvas. I couldn't in good conscience actually pour that much of the ink out on the canvas much less then wipe it off with a paper towel.
Chris Harman Me either looks wasteful and just wondering how long it will take to dry!
It's an ad for the Acrylic inks.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I'm all for artistic license, but this is rediculious.
It's entirely up to this guy if he wants to throw ink all over a canvas. My only issue is that it doesn't actually demonstrate the FW inks potential in any way. Yes they are a little pricey, but they are an excellent product for airbrush work on all surfaces.
OTTA Artworks have
That is a bizarre post I just did. Completely accidental. So sorry.
he wasted so much ink AND left the brushes he wasn't using in water?? has he ever painted before?
No one said this was a fine art technique. If someone enjoys this then why not let them do it. Not everything people create is fine art or for money.
No concern about under binding?
I thought it looked kind of neat until he added the red. Also a level surface would help.
Very beautiful effects, but it should be called 'Expensive' action art because of the amount of medium being used.
+Jane Kirkwood (Artsy Otternut) I agree! When he dabbed up all that turquoise paint on the paper towel and tossed it away I said "what a waste"...
I agree Jane, 20 buck for one color... please...
So much paints wasted n then wiping it off with towel. OMG these paints r so so expensive to use like this. Love the colours
Disappointing, wanted to see how to create different ways, not just pouring. 😢
absolutely stunning , I just purchased has ed some daler-rowney inks for something else but umm yeah this has my undivided attention . love it
yech!
I would say there are way cheaper supplies you can buy for splash n dab splodge art than FW. Kiddies acrylics would suffice. I would personally be a lot more restrained with mine lol. They are beautiful inks though, this doesnt demotrate the class these inks can produce.
Ansioso para testar essa tinta no meu aerografo
First of all this style is not "Abstract" but Non-objective. Secondly Im glad I'm not the only one who thought this was outlandish. LOL
I tend to agree, this man is a fool.
His idea of a 'wash' of acrylic paint and mine are vastly different.
U need water in paint to do a wash!!!!!
Or a medium.
Who would pour expensive ink like that?!? Waste
I don't know about this....a lot of expensive ink being used, with very underwhelming results. May as well do an acrylic pour, using far cheaper paints. Seems a bit lazy and not well planned. But if it sells, guess it's worth it....just not a very skilled process. You'd never see Frazetta partaking in this style.
Could the canvas be rolled for shipping (stretchers removed) and be crease free if only acrylic inks were applied to the canvas?
what a waste!!!!!!!!!!!
If you bay those inks you will do more artistic and less spontaneous!
How to get the talentless and those without skill to buy your product. "Hey, look you can make art too!"
Amazing work and I love how charismatic he is! Def. have to purchase this!
poor paint wated, hard to watch.
Too expensive on the ink for me ...
muito bom
very cool! can you use acrylic paint to do something on top of the DRY ink? like use ink as a background and something else in forground?
Amanda Ritzau you can put anything on top of acrylic once it dries.
Is this just a regular cavas that you can buy at a craft store?
We recommend of course to go for a mid or premium quality, but the techniques will be transferable to all.
he's not paying for the paint.
So sad..why you have to use paper towel to wipe? Just use the brush. Anyway, this is not a painting. It should be called pouring.
this video game me anxiety?? i guess i'm a too uniform person
He's using Liquidex paint for the background! Wonder why?!?!
I'm sure there's no particulate reason, though I noticed one of the tubes was from Dick Blick.

Gail Gassen &
These aren't pouring inks, they're meant for illustrators, if you're gonna drip then dilute them with pouring medium since they are highly pigmented. Just look at how wasted turquoise ink there was on that paper towel.
Pouring ink is a waste on one painting. that stuff isn’t cheap!
Never, never EVER store paint brushes down in the container - how unprofessional!
Should be ok on economic small canvas 20x20 cm, so you can use less inks & acrylics ; the technique it’s quick and helpful, I’m thinking this should be unusual special present to family or a friends..be different
I'm appalled by some of these comments. How do you have the nerve to call yourselves artists, with judgments like that? You know, someone else out there is chewing your work to shreds. Think about it. Is this what you think being a serious painter is about? Judging and criticizing the work of one of your colleagues. Makes me sick.
Deana Khoshaba Criticism is not a bad thing. Judgment is natural. You're letting your sensitivity get in the way of listening to what does and doesn't work. THIS stunts growth. Open your mind up to receiving negative feedback. You'll learn more from failure than success.
Deana Khoshaba well said
Hear what you are saying , but on the other hand, without judgement there is no Accountability.
too painful to watch. zero artistic skill, just wasteful and muddy.
Cody Henderson reallly nasty. Keep up that kind of judgment and criticism and you'll never grow as a painter. Shame on you.
Deana Khoshaba Ha! You have it backwards! It's criticism that helps you grow as an artist, whether giving or taking. Try not to let your feelings get hurt so easily on others' behalf. This is a sales video anyway. Why do you think he encourages so much pouring?
Hard work is what makes you grow as an artist, not criticism. Critique is good, but not criticism. There's a difference.
Deana Khoshaba Criticism, or highlighting the shortcomings of a work, is very useful if youre open to it. Youre not open to it. Youre letting your emotions get in the way.
I agree with Cody. Definitely painful to watch. Now do one for me!! Make it sound even more condescending and bitter though.
