It came out gorgeous! I appreciate those white or off white creamy colors on furniture. You’re right about the “painted white” furniture pieces selling strong. I needed a new recliner so while at the big box store I took advantage to check out the furniture and yes, there it was… a lot of neutral color, white furniture legs with darker stain top, and white ceruse finishes. Simply beautiful tones. Thank you for this video - it inspires me to tackle my furniture pieces with those lovely colors that have been around for a very long time. And perhaps will continue for a long time to come, in spite of other intriguing trends that pop up. Thanks and God bless.
A suggestion- when trying to fill in a small crack like that, a flexible tool, like a credit card or spatula is a better tool to use than stiff wood, imho. 😊
I have a question- not a criticism but really want to know. At the end of the video I noticed a big gouge in the top (to us) right side drawer under the handle and then as you were panning across, I saw a couple of other gouges as well - On that same side on the bottom drawer. Why do you not fill those in with Bondo after you see them after you prime? Thanks!!
I see what you’re saying but less is more is the going trend that sells well here and is shown in magazines so I try to stick with that but I definitely have a different style in my own home
Looks great! How long do you have to wait after listing it in order to find someone who’s willing to buy it for $650. About a week? Or longer? Thanks!!
I have 4 dressers right now. Redone and beautiful. Solid wood. I have them listed for 250, not selling, and won't. I always lose money flipping furniture. It sucks because I love to do it, and I'm good at it.
I'm so sorry to hear that! Maybe check out this video with some tricks on listing on FBM. ua-cam.com/video/DPu6MFCS_rM/v-deo.html also you could try expanding your radius to the nearest largest town to you and offer delivery to attract more buyers. thanks for watching!
We’re in a pretty rural area and all mine sells pretty good. What you may think is beautiful isn’t selling well or people don’t want. That was my issue starting out. What my style is isn’t others.
I agree with you all on what I like may not be what others like. So, I don't do what I l like. I must be ok at it because people are always asking me to redo their furniture. But not willing to pay more than a hundred for it. I sold an MCM desk that I refinished back to its original state. Got 175.00. And I had to deliver it 2 hours away. Sold some at auction for decent prices, but the auction takes 40%. I'm not sure what else I can do. My daughter says it's my camera, lighting, and lack of good background for staging. I find everyone wants to see it in person and is not willing to drine out here to do that. Maybe everyone has a piece right. Thank you for your input. It all helps.
Might be worth it to find a booth at a more populated area to stage and sell your furniture for you. Depending on booth rentals and if they take a percentage when it sells that might help you move more pieces. ❤️
Up in Connecticut's in the Hartford area if I ever put a piece like that on Facebook marketplace for even $600 no one will buy it. I think you just got to be in the right area that people would be looking for pieces of furniture like that.
yes that can be true. Sometimes you can expand your area in FBM to show up in a larger town that may be close to you, jsut specify on your listing if you are able to deliver OR that you live in such and such town. It will help draw a larger crowd that is looking for more on trend items.
I have the same question for my area, too. I see so many UA-cam flippers selling their furniture for $700 and up, but for some reason in my area I can't get anybody to spend more than $100😢.
Kara, I love watching your videos. You really inspire me with my business. Im wondering.....i have a antique dresser that i had to paint due to thr veneer was in terrible shape....i painted and used gold leaf....i think it turned out beautifully.....What would you sell it for?
Thanks for watching! I sand and add some refresher on most projects to clean the sides and have it smelling nice…and 100% of the time…I forget to film it! 😂 I’m leaving a sticky note in the garage next time!
Absolutely beautiful! Honestly, I think it looks great without feet and the color is so soft and neutral that it would match any decor. I started flipping a year ago and love it! Although I do not have the time to flip as often as I want to, I’m a full time teacher, I’m hoping the summer will allow me to crank out more furniture. I have a sprayer, very inexpensive, but am so scared to try it…hoping to break it out in the summer. How do you determine your prices? I live in Michigan and when I search Marketplace I don’t see many flipped pieces. I have recently noticed a flipped furniture store about an hour away and wondered if that would be a good place to start as far as pricing goes. What are your thoughts? Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of the flippers out there.💗
Have you ever refinished a dresser who's top is not wood but mdf. Ive got one the top came off in sheets of thin wood like paper.can motfind any videos of what i need
Why couldn't you have put 1 x 4 pine where the diagonal braces are ( glue and secure those 4 corners) and then some kind of bun feet into that? I did that to old an Ikea book shelf and had the t bolts already in there? I have even omitted the T bolt and just drilled a hole into the added beefed up corners and screwed into those. As usual, wonderful work. Thanks.
Yea that was an option but I wanted to keep it more modern and I'm really not a fan of the modern metal looking feet. Now to see if it sells! lol Hope you are having a great weekend!
What size air compressor do you have? I use a hvlp gravity fed gun like yours, but i have to wait on the pressure to build back up at times, especially on the long runs like the top of a dresser. Love your work btw😊
I’m not a fan of it! I was shocked to see so much of it in the pottery barn catalog this spring. Last year, it was a hard sell for me. This year…it’s back!
I laugh when I hear it. Because I know people love light colors and white is timeless. When designers scream in every video that white is out I laugh too.

You know I love a solid neutral! I think it’s going to sell quickly and you’ll get exactly what you’ve listed it for. Another beautiful piece Kara!
I totally agree! thanks for watching my lovey! #onlyafewmoreweeks.... =)

@julieann7609 Thank you! I really appreciate you being here! Hope to see you next time!
The handles DO go with it perfectly. Glad you glamorized them tastefully.❤
Yes! I figured why waste them and buy new! They were really cool!

Beautiful Beautiful.
Really like the hardware.
Thank you! Cheers!
It does look a lot fresher, always impressed!
This piece is what you are really good at. Nice job! Looks great~
Thank you! Cheers!
Good Morning!!!
Always happy to have you Eila!
Stunning! Thank you ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the outcome !
Beautiful update!
Thank you Cindy! so glad you are here!
I think a pewter glaze would accentuate the drawer and door frames. The plain white is giving me a primer/incomplete feel.

Typically it will sell in a weekend, maybe 2
Kara, great job. Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful ❤!
Thank you! 😊
Hi, just wondering if you get over spray inside the dresser do you sand it off?
Yes I do. Then I usually just freshen the drawers and sides w a bit of wax
I love the hardware also. It would have been pretty with legs. Nice job.
yes I would have loved to add legs! If I was keeping it, I would have tried and not worried about the overhead so much
Looks great Kara!!
@kimhough7753 Thank you! I appreciate you watching! Hope to see you next time!

Do you have any type of exhaust fan in the area you spray paint?
I keep a box fan running and the garage is always open. One of the benefits of living in texas

How do we know how to price items for our area? Thanks :) Beautiful flip, Kara!!!

Thanks for watching! I sand and add some refresher on most projects to clean the sides and have it smelling nice…and 100% of the time…I forget to film it! 😂 I’m leaving a sticky note in the garage next time!
How do you like to clean your paint gun after using shellac?
Never mind, just watched more.🤦🏼♀️🙄😂
I am working on finding what my areas price point will be. Rural.
Some of your links aren’t working. 😊 I love the way the dresser came out.
Oh no! I’ll have to try them and see which ones!
Do you sand after applying sealer/ primers and each coat of paint?
usually I will do a light sand after the primer with a 220 grit

thanks for watching! yes, check out that store and see their prices! Start around there and see what happens! Where in MI? I am from there as well!
West side…Kalamazoo.
I went to Western :)
Im not a white furniture lover, but that is pretty!❤
Thank you @lorikegley3327! This makes me smile! So happy to hear! Hope to see you next time!

Well thank you for replying it was worth a shot to see if you had run into that.
Do you offer delivery? If so, what do you charge? This piece turned out beautiful, as usual.
I do offer delivery! It’s $50 if you’re within my county. Hope that helps!

😍👍
I remember you saying “no more white furniture” 🙄

Video was too long.
