Hi Kara, what worries me is, do my tastes suit others?. There are mainly two contributing factors or maybe three in play. My age 71, location, rural Australia. And the third, which I try to keep under wraps, is that I love antiques. So I really try to stay in touch with the trends in the city. What is selling. Also I also try to only work on smaller pieces because for me physically it is for the best.
That finished look with the little bits of wood is ***chefs kiss 💋 ***
Muah! Thank you buddy :)
What a great transformation. The new base and those handles really takes this dresser to a whole new level.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next time!
I love how you always credit DIYWife. Also, your videos are fantastic.

This is my jam! Love the green with the woods tones.
It’s got that good rustic farmhouse vibe! Thanks for watching queen bee 🐝 😉

Stunning, Kara! The paint color & the added base resulted in a rich & appealing piece of furniture.
I was cringing when you were painting the drawer fronts - I always do :) even though I know that all is well when you do this.
Thank you & the Mister for another great tutorial. xo

Hello from Tennessee....great job.... Making Dresser look modern....but still classic ! Love it! 😊
Thank you! 😊 so glad you are here!
Turned out so great! I always smile thinking of all these types of furniture pieces from my past life that sat right on the floor and how adding that beautiful base is so much more practical and pleasing to the eye😊 Great transformation ❤❤❤ P.S. I’m glad you kept the handles👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yes! Thank you!
You’re a hard worker! And have good taste in furniture .. the style and picking out the finish
Thank you so much! That really means a lot!

Love the finished dresser! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Beautiful as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have enjoyed watching you for quite a while! Looking forward to seeing more. Spraying furniture is something I’ve been afraid to try but may do it soon. I’m also trying a transfer for the first time 🤞I’ve noticed a lot of flippers going to raw wood and staining but I’m not a fan of all that sanding 😮
Do what you love! Try spraying if you are able. It’s so much faster with a smoother finish! Thanks for watching!
I use the "box trick", but I cur it into an L shape so it protects the top and one side edge of the drawer. 😊
That is genius!! Trying that! Thx!
Love it!!
Thank you!!
Beautiful color choice and finish. Youre right, the base elevated the looks as well as its height.
Thank you! I think so too!
Great job. Love the wood tones. Took the look to the next level!

Oh thank you! I appreciate you watching!
A love love love. What you did is beautiful beautiful.Beautiful transformed it into an updated.I was wondering what you were gonna do about the bottom cause it looked off a plane setting on the floor the way it was at the beginning. It's beautiful
Thank you so much for watching!
It's funny, I thought the handles would be the first thing to change but I absolutely love how they added so much beauty in the end. Thank you for a great video!!
@hollybyland2416 Thank you! I appreciate you watching! Hope to see you next time!
That turned out gorgeous! I'm somewhere between intermediate and advanced. ❤
Wonderful! Good for you!!
Great video as always. What do you think the optimal height of a dresser should be, when elevating it with a base? Thank you
Hello! The feet added were 7” on this one. I’ll usually add 5-7” for a base build. Hope that helps!
So beautiful. ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Hi! This turned out great. I do have a question. Did you sand the base before painting it?
No I didn’t just used it as it came.
I owned the complete bedroom set. Bought is from the original owners and had it 25 years. Really heavy and well made.
wow that is so cool! Thanks for watching!
It came out so beautiful !What did you use to seal the knobs after using the restore and finish?
No need to seal. Just polished up the original finish
Hello from AZ 🌵
Hi Debra! Love AZ! I lived in Gilbert for a long time!
Hello from DFW. Waiting for tips and tricks.
Hello there! Appreciate your support each week Donna! Hope you are doing well!
Doing well. Have two Mid Century Modern end tables. One has black ring cannot remove. Any suggestions? @@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture
I love this one! Can you share how you describe your furniture in your ad ?.
Upscale rustic farmhouse. something like that usually. hope that helps! thanks for watching!
Do you put any top coat on the wood stain?
💜💜💜
Looks great! Wasn’t too sure about the handles, but with the base it ties it all together. Speaking of the base, did you have to add anything to the bottom to attach it to? Tried to look back but it’s hard to tell. I have made 1 base (from the diy wife’s tutorial) but it wasn’t sure where to attach it. Should it be flush with the front of the bottom or slightly back? I ended up adding some blocks of wood, but it was still a little wonky.
hi there! Thanks for watching! yes flush with the front and sides. Mine usually attach right onto the current base with the help of the pocket holes. hope that helps!
❤
Different sander from your surf-prep…pros/cons? And the dark paint with natural pulls is my favorite look, do you find it to be more popular or sell any faster?
trying to remember what I used on this one lol I think I may have used my Festool. Surfprep is more for details and curves. Orbital is for flat surfaces. I have a Makita orbital. It is a workhorse! I got the Festool to get the job done in about 1/4 of the time but I really had to save up for that one! Hope this helps! Rustic farmhouse is still really trendy in Texas so I create a lot of it.
So with the paint you used, you don’t have to prime the furniture first, Thank you
😮❤
How much will you post it for sale?
Can you give a cost and profit breakdown? Indiana girl here
I’ll list this for $1100. I’d be happy to land around $900. I have about $150 in with the lumber. Thanks for watching!
Those handles alone can make you money at 50 each if you refinished them .
Agreed!
Has this sold?
Still listed for sale!
