Hey guys! So let be real, I wish every night was as calm and easy as this video... haha, sometimes bedtime is a struggle. I've found that for us, routine is THE BEST way to keep the house happy & calm and also keep bedtime seamless smooth. I wanted to share with you some of the hacks/ideas that work for us for bedtime. I'm sure the dynamic is different in every home, and will also change over time in our own family. It's nice to share ideas, so I'd love to know some of your ideas too/tips.. Thanks for watching! xo xo, Rach
That's everything we do too!! Except I also give my daughter some soothing tea before bed. It's a mixture of different dried tea leaves and flowers that help calm and relax. She loves it and looks forward to her tea every night.
+xoxo3427 That's so cute!! I love that idea! Oliver loves tea with breakfast, so maybe I will give him some chamomile with his snack! Thanks for sharing!
Rachel I just want to tell you that you are truly an inspirational role model. the way you act with your son really makes me look forward to having children. At first I was afraid that is impossible to have a career and to be a good mother but watching your videos gives me so much hope and confidence for the future. thank you for sharing your positivity with us, your son is adorable and you are an excellent mother. I hope you never stop doing UA-cam videos because you always have something incredible to teach and I'm personally love everything about your videos. the quality, the content, the way the film is shot , the information that you put out there . it's literally perfect. most importantly thank you for being such a wonderful role model. I truly look forward to having children after watching your videos
Thought I would share a tip that's helped all four of my kids to be good sleepers. From the time they are born we start playing the same lullaby album every night when it's time for them to sleep. They seem to find it very soothing and they drift off quickly.
I feel so relaxed! Thanks for the video and tips, Rachel. Another tip is to read the bedtime stories in an extra-soothing way, versus a more enthusiastic and loud way that one might do during daytime reading.
Great idea about the solid lotion bars,my girls love their nightly massage and I think those would be less messy. We also love our salt lamp,I adjust it all the way down after they fall asleep.
I love your tips and I love how real you are! It is hard to do these things every night but I definitely try to read before bed most of the days of the weeks
My son is only a couple days younger than yours so I love watching all your mommy videos. We do books (almost) every night & massage after bath time too!
Rachel, I just wanted to say that you have the cutest son I have ever seen, and I love your channel, I have been watching you since I was 12 years old and always look forward to your videos, I love you girl! ❤❤❤
Great ideas there Rachel! I love how you use essential oils and will definitely try to integrate them into our routine. I've always had a very strict night routine for my daughter (from about 4 months old) and that made the transition to her big bed a breeze. Over the years we just added to the basic routine, but we always try to stick to it as much as we can. She was a bad sleeper as a baby but now she's so good. She's almost 3 and always ever sleeps in her own bed with no nightlight and only rarely has nightmares (maybe a dozen times ever). Now that she has a baby brother it's also reassuring for her to know that her bedtime routine is something she can count on during these crazy times.
So many good tips, thank you! I have the same humidifier and am curious why you didn't fill the tank, but just added water to the bottom. Is that method for essential oils?
Oh also I'm 15 and u inspire me and I love these diys and pamper vids cause i do these and you aren't lying the hair treatment does wonders thanks Rachel
When I was little, and scared of monsters my mom would spray monster spray (aka) perfume in my room and said it kept the monsters away, and I always went right to bed
I love your videos and all your tips and tricks. I am so appreciative for the lamp link because I have been looking into getting one myself. Love the tips in here and will be working into my routine with my finances three year old son. love any home and mommy videos so please keep them coming :)
This is such a cute video! I remember when my mom would read to me and my sister at night we would each pick a book and then lay on the floor in my parents room and my and my sister would sit on top of her as she read us the story.
Fisher Price Zen Lullabies is an excellent calming album to have in the background while reading the books, and we keep a CD of it in the car (ALWAYS puts him to sleep if he's overwound). We love to use sound to soothe, we like the "rain" sound on our machine... or a great free app with awesome customizable nature sounds is the Relax Melodies. I've uploaded that app and all of my son's music on an old iPhone - it's one of those that stays charged ALL the time - play it in the car, hook it up to bluetooth speakers for a portable sound machine, jam to his own music with headphones... it's like a comfort tool. We've also put a few learning apps on it too. This way, he gets a teeny-tiny bit of screen time every once in awhile - while we are cooking or whatever.
I absolutely love your videos ❤ thanks for being honest with us about the book. I already re-watch your videos so this is a treat. Thank you so much for being a great person. ❤😌✌🤗
Did I notice a "side-car" bedding setup!? :) We also did the same from 2 months until 2 years. We just transitioned our 2 year old into her own room and bed and so far she is doing well. 😊
