      I have a small 4 room house I picked up second hand and I think it was done like that. The problem is that I can see gaps between the walls where I shouldn't be able to see daylight through in a real house. I've heard you should wallpaper the back wall in place and leave a but going around the corner, then do both side walls up to the corner, makes it harder to see seams and no gaps.

      if you want it to be transparent you might consider acrylic or plexiglass. I would suggest 1/4" thick since the thinner the sheet the more costly it is. It can be drilled to add hinges. Or option 2, use mdf and create doors and windows to make it a fully enclosed house. But you do have to open them every time you want a good view on the inside.

    • @aegminiatures5227
      @aegminiatures5227  3 роки тому +4

      Once I drew the outline of where the walls would go I drew lines about 3/4" apart. To be more accurate I would probably draw the lines 1/2" apart. I then used the exact knife held at about 35degree angle and cut on both sides of the line to cut out a V shaped groove. I did that without a ruler, but if you want them more precise; use the ruler.

    Hi, can you please explain what you mean by pinning the porch posts & rails? Thank you 😊

    • @aegminiatures5227
      @aegminiatures5227  3 роки тому +2

      I started by adding a 1/16" dowel to the railing, glued the railing pieces together. I dabbed a small dot of paint on the edge of the dowel. I stood the column the is to but against it and pressed the dowel onto it so it marked the spot and drilled the hole on the column. assembled the front pieces first. I did the same with the side pieces. When I was ready to glue it all together I assembled the front section, glued in place. I then proceeded to glue the side pieces together. First one half and then the other. Now you need to mark the back piece as well, and also mark where it hits the house and drill. When you assemble the last side piece you need to make sure you attach the back piece to the post first so you can slid in place. Once all was glued I drilled a hole through the balconey floor into the top of the posts. I added dowels that would stick out about one inch to support the railing posts. I drilled a hole on the bottom of each post and proceeded to connect the railing as I did on the first floor. You won't be able to add a dowel in the railing that butts against the front wall as you need to slide the posts onto the dowels. You will also need to connect the front, side and back railing together all at once. I glued and taped them so I had wiggle room when assembling, I did not wait for the glue to dry. For the back top rail you can drill through the wall to secure the railing. It's a lot of work but adds a lot of strength to the structure.
