So glad I found this. There’s many ways to do brick but this gives great realism and depth you can’t get from using a single piece of foam, preform styrene and without casting individual bricks from plaster. Will be using this method in my current early era firehouse. Thank you!
Fantastic! Thank you! I have used cardstock and egg cartons like this before but the drinks cups are really good and seem to do a good job of brickwork. I need to remember this.
Thank you so much! I’m making a foil mold of a pyramid ( I will be making a mixed sand and plaster breakable pyramid) to hide a mummy in so my Neice can play archeologist and did it up. As a perfectionist I want the pyramid to look realistic… especially since her mom is from Egypt. regardless if it’ll end in dust but this is going to be perfect to create the little stone look I was going for. Thank you so much!!!
I'm working on a loft-style room box for my 1/6 phicens and plan to use this method for the interior brick walls but with a more taupe / brown / maroonish color scheme. Thank you for this tutorial!
That's amazing. Very lifelike! I was wondering if you could share the colors you used... I guess you used a red ocher for the main red and a burnt umber for the darker bricks. What about the lighter, orangy bricks?
I'm new to all of this, but this video is fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. Could you tell me the shades of all of the acrylic paints you used? Thanks

No, I'm just painting it, but if you want, you can coat it and apply varnish. I'm not doing anything other than what appears in the video.👍☺

This is 1:12 scale. Measure a real brick, and scale it for whichever scale you are using. 1:12, 1:6, 1:24 etc
