Thank you for posting this video. After an evaporator and Heater core replacement the doors were not moving. I thought I missed a step and needed to pull the entire dash again. I then saw your video and by manually pushing/helping the actuator like you explained in minute 1:34 , the doors started moving like supposed to. I re-greased all the moving parts and it's working like a champ. Thank you again!
When doing the blend door actuator for the vents (upper passenger side), if you put the system on recirculate, then turn the key off, now you can easily get to the lower screw. A magnetized phillips screw driver helps too.
MIne is moving with the passenger's temperature controls, but not the driver's temperature controls. I have heat on the passenger's side but not the driver's side. How do you remove the screws on the actuator, I can't even see the two in the back?
@@carlososa8627 I kept adjusting the temp. controls, moving it up and down from the highest to the lowest temp.. The arms started to move and I got heat. I don't think the problem is fixed completely. This video shows the passenger side, the driver's side has one (black box in pic) too. Autozone sells it for $45. I'm leaving mine as is until it gets cold outside again. Keep me posted, I'd like to know.
Having a issue with this now. Once my temperature hits 70 degrees. Any degree above that the arm does not move. It'll move with any number below 70 degrees. Going up to get hotter it moves up until 70. I go all the way to heat HI and arm does not move from the same position it was from 70.

The lower arm is controlling temperature and the upper arm is controlling air direction, vent-heat-defrost.
Very helpful - thank you. 👍🏽🇬🇧
This video is helping me in 2024 thank you
Thanks for posting this Tom . I can now work on wife’s ‘03 4 runner
Thank you! I got mine fixed watching this!
I put a new servo, but it doesn’t move like before I replace it. Which button move the servo.
Thank you sir! You saved the day.
@1:29 which lever are you pointing to?
Hey TOM! Great video. Can you show the lever on the driver’s side too? Keep up the great work!
Weird nine are all moving and AC Freon says it's over full pressure
blowing warm on driver side...
where is this exactly on the passenger side?
Take the glovebox out and you will see it left and above.
@@tomsellers3828 do you know where it is located on a 3rd gen '01 limited?

I have the same problem with a 05 4 runner, were you able to fix it? What did you do?

@@wendellf8659 my issue is the heat not coming up on driver's side. That means the driver's side actuator is the one to change?

Did you repair this issue? I have the same problem now, thinking it’s the motor bad.
my heat comes on and then is intermittent.. 2004 4runner.. blend door possibly?
Tom Thanks so much for your video. It saved me 200.00
Bob
Robert Hargabus Glad it helped!
Got the same issue - thanks a bunch
Is that metal arm behind the leveler arm supposed to move when you change the temperature?
The only arms that move are plastic. The metal piece is a bracket that the electronic control mounts to.
Thank you for video😊
Great info, thank you!
I’ve not done the driver’s side, so I’m not sure.
Completely useless!
