Very good video- haven’t seen any oil cooler guides out there that keep the fender position. i did see a kit online that sells this oil cooler with a bracket which looks interesting. Also I would recommend filling the oil lines with oil so that when the car gets up to temp it doesn’t get a huge pocket of air entering the system. May be fine without oil but just to be safe.
Great video 👍🏽, just wanna share my experience with this, so I pretty much did the same thing mounting the cooler with zip ties and it was a horrific experience for me, I was driving on the highway and at night and there was a huge pot hole, hit the pothole and felt like an earthquake, then didn’t pay that much attention and proceeded driving, 10 min later Red oil pressure warming light came on, pulled over immediately to see what was going on, the impact of hitting the pothole knocked out the cooler and hit the wheel while driving and it leaked all the engine oil on the road, so I got the car home safely, drained my engine oil to see how much I lost, pretty much the engine was empty just half quart. After that I took the decision to mount the cooler right behind the grills, so I did that and so far so good. Hopefully you won’t go through this nightmare, buy you might want to consider my experience, Best luck ✌🏼
Thankyou. Currently I'm using steel zip ties....they're not going anywhere but I'll probably fab up some nice brackets I prefer to keep it in that location. I'm glad you saved your motor though! Yikes.
Thanks bro. Only DIY on replacement. Just bought an n54 and the kid put some aftermarket duct on the front but didn’t bolt down the oil cooler so I took off a day after buying and my oil cooler blew up. It was barely being held on. A damn big mess all over my neighborhood/driveway SMH 🤦🏻♂️
@@335iN54Enthusiast yeah man busting out the surface cleaner/power washer now. Thanks for the DIY tho. He removed the fender liner so a rock must have busted up the oil cooler. It punctured it. Thanks the DIY removed the old one w ease.
I cracked my cooler, is there any way to repair without replacing it? Also I want to stop the leaking until I forgot out the replace my part. Can I just disconnect it from the top? If so do I have to drain all the oil from the car from the oil pan?
Hey bro i just pick up a 2011 335i noticed there is coolant and oil leaking at that oil cooler is that common problem im not good with car but is one of the line carry coolant and the other carry oil?
There is no coolant in those lines. Your coolant leak is coming from somewhere else. Seeing as you just got this car...you need to do ALL the common maintenance issues. Valve cover gasket...oil pan gasket...serpentine belt...oil filter housing gaskets...plugs...coils....injectors. Good luck.
I've read some folks talking about thermostats when installing aftermarket oil coolers. Is the one located in the oil filter housing unit good enough or is it even a thermostat itself? Kinda dumb question but I cant find a clear answer anywhere. Plus I don't want more stuff crammed in the engine bay if it doesn't have be there.
If you mean turbo rattle then I recommend getting the bushing kits to eliminate the rattle. I forget where you can get them I got mine off eBay from turbo lab I think. The bushings go in the exhaust manifold at the linkage point.

Thank you did the same install in mine after my oil cooler line busted. So decided to upgrade to this

Hola buen video, supongo que ya no tienes problemas de temperatura, vale le pena poner ese radiador ???? Gracias
No temp problems.
Do you have to prime the oil after installing this? Asking because n55 has had rod bearing issues apparantly from other owners. Thanks!
Always a good idea.

wich exact oil cooler did you use? it fits pretty good
I believe it's from ECS tuning. They only have like 1 option I think.... I forget..

The stock thermostat is good enough for me...
Can this be used for the e92 n55?
I believe so
What do you suggest for rattle fix? for the 335i N54 engine...

Do you have the links for the adapters?
ECS tuning has them .
@@335iN54Enthusiast Thanks man 🙏🏽
What size cooler did you use? 19 row?
I think so
