- While restoring this beautiful 1933 First run Singer Featherweight 221 I came across a part I had never seen before...and I just had to share with you!
Jen, You are simply amazing! I love the work you did on my first run featherweight! Thank you as always for sharing the delicate work you do for our beautiful machines!!
I am so happy you are happy! Not sure I will ever come across that hook style again so thank you for the opportunity!
Thank you for this info! I also have a first run featherweight but did not know this. I’ll have to do some checking on mine!
They are special!
That is very interesting!
I thought so too!
Wonderful video and explanation, Jen! I’ve seen the diagrams of that early hook but never handled one. Your explanation was excellent. Love that you admit to searching for the spring across the room. I’ve been on my hands and knees with a flashlight countless times looking for parts.
Thank you Bill! That spring had some…spring! Haha!
So glad they changed that pin!!
Me too Diane! Can you imagine that in Peru?
OOh Jib-arm, I like that word! Great job with those itty bitty screw and the spring. You are amazing.
Thank you Marie!
For some machines, you would have to enter a magnetized camera, where tiny screws would never get lost.
If only I had one :)
Pleas helpe me I have this machine 221 but working for electricity usage but I live in Europe e I afraid use it what I have to do for using in Europe?
Hi! What does the band on the motor say? It should be 220v if in Europe and 110 if in US. If you do not have 220 then you will need a converter or a new motor. A used 220v motor can be found on Ebay for a decent price. I hope that helps!
