I just finished restoring my Grandma's 1937 Singer 99K electric and it runs like a dream. It's so quiet it purrs. Beautiful to look at and wonderful to sew with, I plan to make it my daily use machine.

How beautiful for you to see on your grandmothers machine. They feel and sound so different than the modern machines. So nice to remember your grandmother every day by sewing on her machine ❤️

Hi I left a message earlier, but I tried to edit it and I think I didn't do it right and it disappeared. So I hope I am not repeating myself lol.
I came across your channel by accident today. What a lovely channel! I am also from South Western PA, and I love antique sewing machines. I own several. I was excited that you mentioned Finleyville, I only live 20 Minutes from there! I enjoyed the interview with David Selby. What a collection he has. I was wondering if you could give me his information for maybe future repairs. I could email you so it's not public. The guy I used forever is not with us anymore. Thank you and I look forward to more videos!

Nice Singer handcrank you have and fixed by a person that knows machines well. I really like Dave's collection and the way he brings the wood back to life leaving the original finish.

Good evening! Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your new-to-you SInger handcrank: there is something delightful about them that makes lots of us very attached to them, as I suspect Clara the Crank will be to you. Loved the interview with Steve Sel- (oh phooey, I’ve forgotten his name) in his workshop: he has done wonderful things with his machines - the cabinets, with their marks of use and honor all there!
I have several treadle machines and two hand cranks, The latest, a 1934 British 28K hand crank that’s lovely to look at, came home last weekend and is in wonderful condition. It has lived in several countries…one her owners left a history of it for us all in a letter, which I found in the storage case. If you are interested, you can look it up: “About a 1934 Singer 28K Sewing Machine and Its Journey”, here on UA-cam.
Now off to explore your channel: I also spin and have woven a bit, emphasis on bit :} Thanks so for sharing your new sewing friend!

I love this gentleman's collection! I have over 250 machines myself, including many of the ones he has, Howe, American, mother of pearl 12s, Wilcox & Gibbs, Davis, etc. I also have over 40 handcranks that were imported from the UK that I'm quite fond of!
    Where is he located?

Lovely video of some beautiful machines. Thank you for sharing. I am the proud owner of my late mums Singer 315. Also, I have a Jones Treadle Medium CS, called, Kitty, which is beautiful to sew with. I have a Singer a 1951 99k, another beautiful machine and quality stitch. I have recently got a green 1955 Singer 320k, which is my first vintage machine that does zig zag and pattern stitches. They are all much loved treasures. ❤

Loved seeing the fabulous machines, so interesting. He is doing a great job restoring them, I would have been in heaven amongst all those machines!
I have a hand crack singer but am not sure how old it is, I should use it more. I love sewing machines especially the old ones, fascinating history. Today it’s easy to just replace clothing or household linen but in their heyday a sewing machine would make and mend and make a huge difference to budgets. See you soon. X

nice video. I have 3 old Singer machines. a 27k +treadle (so nice and smooth mechanism with a vibrating shuttle). It's the one I prefer to sew with, but there is no funny presser foot to add to this machine. she was born in 1904. I have 2 other 15k machines. one is with treadle born in 1940 the other one is electric born in 1918. I love them a lot too but they are not so smooth as the older one. for both i have plenty of presser feet to play with ;-) I will soon get a french machine Aurore, from 1900 or so. I don't know exactely her age, but she has a script on the needle plate for having got a gold medal during the unviversal exposition of 1900.
