Great job John ! Always such great hikes and you do such a great job of letting us know about the trails. Southern New England has such beautiful trails...we are very lucky to have these spectacular forests down here in "the relative lowlands". I love the mountains...but love what we have in Southern New England just as much! You do a great job of highlighting so many places people can get out and see down here! Thank you

It’s amazing what we have in our own back yard. I admit to loving the highlands, but I enjoy and try to share the local stuff as well. I have a few more local hikes in the can. Stepstone falls in RI, an overnight in Bigelow Hollow, and three days on the AT in Kent, CT. Thanks for watching!

A small world indeed; the Forest Manager for the Yale Forest is Mr.Joe Orefice, who spent several years in NY State at several institutions. Yale Forest is a magnificent ecosystem indeed. Nice video John.

Rich, I wonder if your friend has any information or photos of the old fire tower. I tried searching the web but came up empty.

John I do believe that he has a public email through Yale.

    Hi John.
Another great video on a blue-blazed trail.
I always enjoy the way you show the details of each trail, providing us an opportunity to walk the trail with you.

I try to mix it up with the music and this group of songs definitely worked nicely together. Thanks for watching.

Bruce and Otis, It was pretty nice, especially the water views. I ended up finishing the rest of the trail on a backpacking trip with colleagues the following weekend. Take care!

Foliage was peakin’! Wish we still had all those old fire towers around here.

Yes I was fortunate to get nice foliage so late in the season. The fire tower remains were a surprise to me.

Nice fall colors along the trail. Enjoyed all the different camera angles and shots you included in the video. Made it really interesting to watch.

Thanks 🙏 I really enjoy exploring the creative side of making videos with mixing up the camera shots and then doing the editing. I watch videos about creating that help me grow my tools. Of course I love hiking so I try to strike a balance. The more time you spend walking by the camera the longer the hikes get. A hike like this takes all day with the drive to and from and 5 hours hiking. Then I spend another 4 hours writing the script, recording the narration and editing the video. It’s a labor of love and getting comments like yours is always a pleasure. Thank you.

John this was a great hike and excellent filming. Love fall hikes yes you start cold but usually warm up quick but not overheated like summer. Great opening information and the fire towers were great with more facts! I enjoy the colors and all the leaves you walk on during fall trails. Having a class in the middle of the woods is fantastic. I am sure that Pond is better in the fall then summer as well. Looked like a perfect day thanks for sharing! Wow almost 10 mile day!

Thanks Ramblers, glad you enjoyed it! I’m really enjoying our back and forth. As you know we’re not getting rich on UA-cam but friendships along the way help keep the batteries charged.

I hope you are well. I visited your UA-cam channel and your videos are very good. Also, the thumbnail design is very attractive. But your video has some problems, Your SEO score is very low, and the description tags lack SEO optimization. there is no sharing on social media platforms, resulting in low likes, comments, and views. If you solve this problem your channel will get more views and subscribers very quickly.
Thank you, have a nice day.
