Ramblers thanks for checking it out. It’s my way of paying it forward. There are many adults who have not gone on these types of adventures and it can be intimidating to go by yourself.
That's awesome you were able to get out on a warm weekend. The campsite near the pond looked like a beautiful place to stay. Looks everyone enjoyed the trip.
That log crossing looked a little dicey. Nice that you are able to camp with your coworkers (and that you have coworkers who are interested in hiking).
Actually the log crossing was easier than it looked. Our office hiking club does regular hikes with some backpacking thrown in. I usually lead a couple of trips each year and join a few more. We’ve done some cool trips like the Pemi Loop last year. This year they did a Presidential Traverse, but I had a conflict.
Had yourself some pretty amazing scenery along the way! Nope, not getting Otis to cross that log!! lol Campfires are always a welcome sight! Pop Tarts...the breakfast of champions!! lol Hope you and yours have a marvelously Merry Christmas and all the best to continued great adventures in 2024!! Bruce and Otis
Bruce that log was a challenge, but Otis would have loved the rest of the hike. Pop tarts are a no fuss option. I usually do oatmeal. Since I don’t like to mess up my pot, I usually just boil water and eat dehydrated food. I’m looking forward to the holidays, hope you and Otis have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Great back packing trip nice team bonding. It did look enjoyable nothing to difficult. It was a nice place to camp for the night. Thx for sharing!

Another interesting & informative video!
Glad you enjoyed it!. It was a very nice area. I’ll probably go back there again soon.
Beautiful hiking video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. This is a very popular spot in eastern Connecticut for good reason.
That has to be one of my top 3 DEEP campsites. Great video. 😊
Sue, I’m curious what are the other two campsites?
@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA Hmmm...Dawley Pond and Wickwire Lean-To.
Those are good choices, I’ve stayed at both of them.
