However, for me there is one glaring and very sad omission from all the favourable comments posted in that time. That is - to express profound admiration and grateful thanks to all the members of the orchestra for their wonderful music making. I'm proud to do that here and now.

Someone might complain about the way the country has been run recently but everyone has a right to moan now and then (whether they were born here or not). The idea that people find any elements of innocent british patriotism offensive is a ridiculous idea anyway
(I think we are patriotic in a pretty minimalist way, yknow a prom here and there to pat ourselves on the back and then we all carry on. I like it)
That whole fiasco was really just something the media (newspapers particularly) blew up to get readers. Don't worry so much, you'll do yourself mischief.
