Nice bowl, Ken. I really like the orange and black effect. A great save, too. BTW - that intro wasn't any scarier than what I see when I look in the mirror first thing in the morning. Take care. Bill
As much as I like Andy Phillip's work, that man and his crafts simply aren't human. He has no issues or setbacks in his projects. I'd have failing after failing if I tried and feel like a disappointing subhuman waste of space if I tried to follow his lead. You show the human side of the craft and how accidents and setbacks happen even amongst the highly skilled. Your videos can actually inspire hope and confidence in those who want to try their hand at lathe work.
OOPS ! but ya fixed it, Looks great Ken, Love the Black and Orange, I wondered how you got it to not set up so fast with the amount you poured, LOL you made more, Thumbs up as always
Saw the hole from the point of the bit pop through and was like, "NOOOOOO!!!" Just as you punches the rest of the way through. Lol play with my emotions on my birthday of all days Ken.
I have the utmost respect for artists who show their mistakes & mishaps. It’s their ability to push through and sometimes, use those mishaps to their advantage. Another gorgeous piece, good sir!
I really thought you were about to turn that whole piece down to a plug for the other bowl but turning into a pedestal bowl was a great way to fix that. Looks really nice, got a good swirl on it too.
That did turn out awesome. I’m sure you put that hole in on purpose cuz you wouldn’t want to be a member of the funnel club. lol. The pedestal just made it more awesome than if it was just the bowl itself. Great job 👍👍
Ooohhh that makes up for the last few missing pours a double handed slow motion pour wow 🤤🤤🤤😲 love it then wow what a twist although what a way to fix it as for that wood that was a nice peace very cool then boo another sneak peek of a orange thing and a black thing yet to be determined what yet lol 👍🏻
💥Great save. I loved the pattern the swirls made in the resin & the pedestal added to the style of the bowl. I thought you might implode. I'm glad you didn't. 😀
I have to admit a explicative fell out of my mouth when I saw the hole appear.. Nice recovery on your part...It looks stunning with the base and the colors, flamin'. 😁👍👍
Ahhh...the gremlins are working over time... You're tricky tricky !...I just know you had that planned all along..lol... Love the swirls of color and the base is a great add...so say you planned it..👍😉... Good to see you Moonman...🌿🌿🌿
Nice, no great save. Those colors were so nice and I thought it was gonna be launched across the shop. lol I watched our machinist at the plant bore right through the bottom of something due to poor math. He opened the door and heaved it. Of course we kept it and gave it back at his retirement party.
I think I like the pedestal better than the original shape. It really adds to pleasing look of the bowl. I also like the logo inside the bowl rather than on the bottom. Great save!
The "WHY THE HELL DO I KEEP DOING THAT" part had me laughing so hard. At least you can laugh at the happy accidents. 😊 That second piece of wood was gorgeous too. This one is one of my favorites. The colors came out so cool.
The bowl by itself would have looked mighty fine but with that pedestal you put on it then it made that bowl spectacular!!! Well done sir!!!!! Well done! It just goes to show that just because of an oops doesn't mean the project is ruined.
Interesting recovery. I was expecting you to create an interior handle of the same wood used for the stem of the pumpkin. Thanks for sharing this insightful video. Wishing you and your family a great Halloween weekend. Cheers
Great save! Looks almost like you intended to do that. Quick question. How did you modify your ob shine juice? Mine always starts super shiny then after a while the shine gets duller.
Nice saved bowl! I love the grain in that wood, it really pops when you put on that shine juice! And the resin swirls, it's awesome with orange and black! Well done! Cheers from Sweden! 🤩❤❤❤👍🎃🧛♀️🧟♀️
I promise I didn’t laugh Ken but wot a awesome recovery the piece looks better with the base on. The wood grain is beautiful love the black and orange and the o b shine Juice really works great. Take care see you next time 👍👍👍❤️
I was surprised that you only used two colors, but the end result is amazing! When the bottom popped into the chuck, I was horrified! But you recovered it beautifully!
Great save after that perfect little hole made its appearance. Dang! Things like that just love to happen, don't they?? Great work though. Keep on keeping on Ken!!
"Mistakes" or "Opportunities", depends on your point of view and outlook, I suppose. The wide mouth chalise for a Halloween candy dish is a great idea. I like the orange and black "fire motif" of it. Glad you had another piece of matching wood for the base, it 'turned' out beautifully.
I appreciate you showing your mistakes and how you fix them. I like to call them “design elements” and not mistakes. 👍🏼
No problem. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Bob Ross: There are no mistakes. Just happy accidents.
Clever marketing ploy!
Beautiful! You did what I was thinking if I made that same mistake. Well, plugged it, but you made it even better! You rock!
Thanks Great mind think alike. 😀
Nice bowl, Ken. I really like the orange and black effect. A great save, too. BTW - that intro wasn't any scarier than what I see when I look in the mirror first thing in the morning. Take care.
Bill
Hahhha, Thanks Bill
Nice save. Beautiful bowl!
Thank you Patti
That's an awesome fix! And shoot, after halloween you can just call it the Harley Davidson bowl!!
Didn't think of that. Thanks

Thank you so much for the kind words. It is much appreciated.

The magic of the cinema.
Saw the hole from the point of the bit pop through and was like, "NOOOOOO!!!" Just as you punches the rest of the way through. Lol play with my emotions on my birthday of all days Ken.
Well happy Birthday
Way better than the original idea! That turned out awesome!
Thank you! 😊

Another gorgeous piece, good sir!
Thank you so much. I appreciate the support
Great save Ken
Thanks Jeneifer
That base took this bowl to another level!!! Very awesome!!!!
I think so too! But wasn't really sure how I felt about it till later.
@@MoonpieCreations definitely a tough situation but you made it work beautifully!!!
I really thought you were about to turn that whole piece down to a plug for the other bowl but turning into a pedestal bowl was a great way to fix that. Looks really nice, got a good swirl on it too.
Ha, I thought about it.
It's said that 3 days after watching this intro the MOONPIE shows up and encases you alive in Resin!!!!!
Bahahhahahahhaha Now that's funny
That did turn out awesome. I’m sure you put that hole in on purpose cuz you wouldn’t want to be a member of the funnel club. lol. The pedestal just made it more awesome than if it was just the bowl itself. Great job 👍👍
I wish I could say that. I have funneled more in the last year than all years combined.
Nice save
Thanks 👍
Awesome bowl and great recovery! Well done and thx for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Timmy, I got bad news for you. This weeks video doesn't have the Sexy Time Music either.
@@MoonpieCreations what nnnnnooooooooooo 😭😭😭
Very nice I think it turned out better with the pedestal but still a nice piece ether way
Thanks. I do too
Nice save Ken! It actually looks better with the bottom!
I think so too. I wasn't so sure while I was turning it.
Haha! I’ve done that! Nice recovery!! Turned out great!!

Great fix - love how this turned out! The colors and effect are so cool!

Thank you
This might be my new favorite. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Awesome.
I am my own worst critic.
I think the accident on the bottom just added a better look to the final piece. I think I might do that on purpose this winter. AWESOM JOB!!!
Thanks Richard. I think it lends something to the final product too.
I like it better with the pedestal!! Love how the colors blended.
Me too Thanks
So I like the second outcome better than the first take lol well done stay safe
Me too. Thanks Tony
Looks awesome. I like it
Thank you

That marbling looks awesome
Thanks Mike
Wow it’s beautiful the wood pattern is gorgeous and the resin colours really compliment the wood
Thank you Jeanette
It's so cool 😍
Thank you
Wow, the way you fixed it turned out great! I love it, it’s fantastic!
This was the coolest Halloween one I did this year in my opinion. Thanks
Great rescue. Actually looks so much better with that base! Great colours. Very nicely done!👍👍
Thanks a bunch!
The sound effects *kill* me every time. Love watching you work, and seeing the fantastic things you make!
Thanks. There are some who do not like my whimsical sound effects and music.
@@MoonpieCreations Whaaaaat?!?! Boy oh boy, what joyless lives those people must lead 😂
It's beautiful. Perfectly imperfect
Thanks Hazel
Very beautiful bowl. WOW!
Thank you
@@MoonpieCreations
Your welcome.
Brilliant solution for the hole. And, I think a better design overall. It’s a gorgeous piece!
Thank you Julie
I think you were crashing then you pulled up on the stick and saved the day! Having that pedestal really finishes it for me! Nicely done sir!
Thank you. It was a hell of a ride for sure.
Oh, wow. If that's a mistake, then it's a gloriously beautiful one. WOW! Just SO gorgeous!
Oh thank you!

I totally agree!
Improvise, adapt, overcome! Great work Ken.
Yes! Thank you!
The "WHY THE HELL DO I KEEP DOING THAT" part had me laughing so hard. At least you can laugh at the happy accidents. 😊 That second piece of wood was gorgeous too. This one is one of my favorites. The colors came out so cool.
I try not to explode to much. lol Thanks.
Way to turn a funnel into a fabulous piece of art 👏🤙

I think so also. Thanks
Bowl is very cool as always. I actually like the fact that you can see the logo coin from the top of the bowl.
Thanks Scott
You read my mind with your repair idea. Turned out smashingly!
Thanks Taytase
Nice save! Looks great with a pedestal. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Lindsey
The bowl by itself would have looked mighty fine but with that pedestal you put on it then it made that bowl spectacular!!! Well done sir!!!!! Well done! It just goes to show that just because of an oops doesn't mean the project is ruined.
I have found that sometimes a screw up can led to better things. Thanks
Love the swirl in the resin. Great recovery from the error. Your mistake turned out beautiful.
Thank you Jennifer

Thanks Cat. Hope you have a Happy Halloween also.
Like the base
Great save! Looks almost like you intended to do that. Quick question. How did you modify your ob shine juice? Mine always starts super shiny then after a while the shine gets duller.
60% shellac 30% denatured alcohol and 10% Boiled linseed oil. . They say the shine last longer but the judge is still out on that.
This bowl turned out great! The orange just pops with the black. It kind of sucks how it came to be, but the base really adds to it!
Sometimes a screw up will enhance a project.
ken that is a pretty bowl my friend hope u r doing well. just remember, God loves u, God bless. chris
Thanks 👍
Nice saved bowl! I love the grain in that wood, it really pops when you put on that shine juice! And the resin swirls, it's awesome with orange and black!

You make the prettiest hybrid bowls, Ken. Thank you so much for having faith in our pastes. Happy Halloween to you and your Wife!!
Thank you! You too! I've been fiddling around with that lite paste Tom sent me. I think it works pretty good.
I was surprised that you only used two colors, but the end result is amazing! When the bottom popped into the chuck, I was horrified! But you recovered it beautifully!
Thank you Laurie.

Gremlins appear so often. Glad I figured out a way to improve it.
Excellent save! Love the colors. Keep up the good work.

I had to search for two hours in my shop and wood shed to find the perfect piece. Of course it was the last one I found. lol. Thanks.
nice save😁 I reckon the base adds to the look of the piece🇦🇺👍🏻
