He killed Lyle's rabbit and threw it in the trash.
if the dad went to jail for what he did, he wouldve been out in 5yrs-10yrs max. OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY REPUGNANT.
HE WOULD HAVE NEVER GONE TO JAIL AT A 1ST PLACE!! I would like to mention a bit different topic now, watched the Woman Of an Hour last week. Maybe it`s all a fiction maybe not, however the scene, where the girl form the audience recognize the killer in a dating tv show an go to the police station...WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BACK THEN, RIGHT? NO ONE WOULD EVER TAKE HER SERIOUSLY!!
SAME THING WOULD SURELY HAPPEN WITH JOSE...LET`S SAY LYLE GOES TO THE POLICE TO REPORT THE ABUSE, GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? THEY WOULD MAKE A LAUGH AT HIM...PROBABLY WOULD BE CALLING JOSE OR WHATEVER...AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT JOSE WOULD DO NEXT...CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE THE BRUTALITY WAITING FOR LYLE AND ERIK IN SUCH SCENARIO...
But as I recall, this was not heard. It was all about the boys not being able to wait for their parents to die to get their inheritance. All of these people…where were they when those two little guys were being molested over, and over and over again. What hell these children endured. It makes my heart hurt. ❤️🩹💔😡

Child sexual predators don't get sentences as such.
So true! Double standard!
So true! They get released and simply labeled as a sex offender. This man abused who knows how many other boys/men. Sadly men don't readily speak out or step forward as easily as woman.

In this case they got the death penalty.

I like this lawyer. She explains things clearly.
Right, I was thinking the same thing!
Yes, she’s very smart and articulate.
@@lesliemcculloch1590Yes, totally agree
It alreary went down like she said
Agreed! And she has a background knowledge of the actual defendants, and the victim in this case which says a lot!! I'm praying for both of these men and their families, friends and loved ones right now that they are released, and quickly!! 🙏🏻🤞🏻They have more than done their time, they have not only rehabilitated themselves but helped with others and continue to still do that and I think that says mountains about who they are as people, and how they've grown regardless of what they were sentenced to. At one point they knew there was never a chance that they would get out and they still chose to do the right thing and be positive and not let that stop them from making a difference and contributing to the world in their own way. I think a lot of the things that they have done for the prison system is amazing and was absolutely an necessary void that really needed to be filled. It's just not fair to keep them behind bars any longer, we would never put a young person behind bars nowadays with the circumstances and the evidence against the abuser as there is in this case, that being not only physical evidence, but many many many different peoples corroborating a lot of the alleged crimes against the boys at the time, And that's also including immediate family members (which says a lot!), these men aren't lying and they never were, anybody with a little common sense and empathy who watched them up on the stand knows there's no way they were lying about what they had endured there their entire childhoods. It's devastating when you really think about it. I couldn't imagine my dad doing that to me or my mother knowing about it or doing the same, It's just horrible and I can't imagine how much they just wanted it to stop and be over with, they just wanted to be free of having no choice in the matter and having their own dad violate them in such a cruel and sick way, can anyone imagine what that would be like to have the people that are supposed to love you and protect you and do the right thing by you and take care of you, and here they are doing these monstrous ax to you??!! Unreal, I can't imagine what that must do to the adolescent mind. Just horrific. We know sooo much more about things like what they went through nowadays, and we would never put someone behind bars for defending themselves, or doing something to put an end to being "graped"... let alone put two very young people behind bars forever, just for doing the only thing I think they thought they could do in 1989.
I agree murders never the answer, but again this was a different time, people didn't speak of these things or have much knowledge about it, and for the people that did know about it, they definitely didn't think that it happened behind the doors of the rich and wealthy, especially to two athletic, strong, good looking young men. We now know that to be a complete falsehood, So let's free these men already!!! 💯✔️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

People are always calling attention to how they went on a spending spree...SO what?! Wouldn't you feel relieved that you will never experience being raped again?...by your own father or molested by your mother? The judge technically rigged the second trial. After the OJ trial, the LA's DA office could not take another massive hit. They had to get a conviction on this one at all costs so the judge helped them do so. The judge should be confronted

People say “people who end pdfs are heroes and should not be prosecuted”, where is that here?
I mean obviously these kids needed some type of punishment/ rehabilitation - and in prison they have proven themselves to be successful people, but still, those parents were the lowest of the low.
If the sons weren’t abused, it would have been someone else’s child, or that wife would have had more children for her sicko husband to abuse. The father would have abused or even possibly killed someone.
They are not kids!!
That part shocks me the most. I don't understand why people would defend a pdf and his accomplice. We know that he already attacked another kid from the group Menundo and I'm sure, knowing what happens in the music industry, he wasn't the only one. Many music executives like him abused kids who wanted to succeed and were basically sold by their parents for fame. People are shocked that the mother was complicit, look at someone like Justin Bieber's mother sending him at 15 to spend 48 hours with a 40-year-old man, or Usher's mother who sent him for months when he was only 13.

The thing that gets me about the vengeance Nazis is the brothers have already had their lives significantly wrecked, so that should make the haters happy. I'm about the same age as these guys and I am trying to imagine having the last 35 years wiped out, since high school essentially. I can't even imagine it. They have been punished. Almost the entire extended family, evidently, wants them freed. Everyone things to think Jose was a genuinely terrible person. There seems to be widespread belief that Kitty was an enabler.
Did the sons do a terrible thing? Yes, shooting your parents like they did is a terrible, horrible, violent thing. Were they violently abused by their father? There is evidence they were. Would that screw with your mind? Yes, it would. Does most of the family believe them? Yes. Does the family want them released? Yes. I just don't see what purpose is served keeping them in prison any longer. Apparently they have good prison records.
The people who want them to stay in prison until they die of old age seem just to get off on punishment to me. What purpose does it serve at this point. I guess you believe they the two are unalterably, inherently evil.
@@curtisevans4100 they did it in cold blood. Why did they lie on the 911 call if it wasn't for money ? @@curtisevans4100 I can see that , but usually someone who does that would not lie about it up front if it was a 2nd degree type thing. It seems to me they lied because they knew if they confessed they wouldn't get the money or couldn't get in jail anyway. By lying about it , they were able to get the inheritance. That's why I don't think abuse was really the motivation for doing it. Regardless of whether or not it's true.
@@MeadeFatLoss of course they lied about it initially because they didn't want to be punished, which is fair enough. I think it is completely understandable behaviour in the first instance. they felt they were finally getting some vengeance for all they suffered and they probably didn't think they deserved to go to jail in the initial stages of shock. they did not do it for inheritance, they were already rich. Maybe Lyle went on a bit of a crazed shopping spree (trauma response), but all Erik did was commit the money to hiring a tennis coach, probably to avoid the feelings of guilt that eventually set in and made him confess. Don't forget that they were only arrested due to Erik's confession. He confessed, he wasn't forced to. If he didn't, who knows what would have happened. They may have gotten away with it. I think if parents treat their offspring as cruelly at these parents did, then they deserve what is coming to them. The parents were demons. They were not parents. Parent love and care for their kids, not abuse and torture them. Their parents deserved no loyalty. Many parents abuse their kids because they are purely evil... if the child reacts to mistreatment and kills the parents, under no circumstances should they be held accountable to murder in the first degree.

It's good this lady is coming forward with this testimony, never too late to serve justice to the brothers. Free them NOW !
What's remarkable is that if the family from BOTH sides are saying release the Menendez Brothers, it seems NO ONE has the right to demand they stay. No matter what anyone else thinks, the family basically represents the parents AND the brothers. Kitty's own sister is saying release them. Those are their peers right there. Who else does a judge need to listen to???
Where were those family members when the boys were little and needed help? Why didn't they report things to the authorities immediately, as soon as they suspected something?
Free them plz, they are not evil. They are broken
Their mother abused them too !! Both mentally, sexually and physically !! Why isn’t she being blamed also ? Where’s her accountability????
Not right to murder but they murder their abuser, trauma & fear can make people do crazy things. They paid for their crime. Their own parents failed them in the cruelest ways.
Being in prison is ridiculous for the Menendez Brothers. They should have never been sentenced to prison.
The acts they committed was self defense. I was a teen back then and these guys should have NEVER gone to jail. And then, to learn the jury was not allowed to hear damning evidence that would have kept them free. If I'm in a Gascon position, these guys are free by Halloween. The judge needs to do the right thing, too.
all the signs and people speaking for them showed these brothers deserves freedom.
But why didn't these people speak out in the moment, at the time, immediately???
@@jenniferhansen3622 Exactly!
@@gals5252they did speak up...literally they testified in 1993....but they weren't allowed to testify in 1996 because as Stanley Weisberg said "Lyle and Erik Menéndez won't use the battered woman syndrome because they're not women" so they weren't allowed to talk about their sexual abuse in trial 2:))))
It was just the defence strategy. Abuses never happened
SHE JUST NOW TELLING? WHERE WERE YOU 30 YEARS AGO???
Exactly!
Let these young men out of prison, give them a life that they were robbed of as boys. They simply saw killing their parents as an end to their abuse. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes!!!
Please let these young men out. They were abused by not only the father but by the mother who knew and allowed the abuse. Shame on those horrible parents. These young men have suffered enough.
Please free these men- they have done their time!
The boys should be out!! Sexual abuse is disgusting. So tired of these sexual predators getting away with it!!
It blows My mind how anyone still to this day doesn't believe they was sexualy abused and that they don't believe these 2 brothers should be out of prison. Times and hearts have changed but their clearly is still some stragglers.. hoping for these brothers release to their families 🙏
They were out of the will
They murdered their parents though
There was no proof that they killed their parents over a will.
@@jeremyshanemcgowan5949And? Their parents were pediophiles.. plus they’ve served 30 plus it’s enough time… plenty of people who murder for no reason get less time then them.
@@jeremyshanemcgowan5949 so? their parents were not parents. their parents were evil demons. Jose didnt deserve to walk the earth getting away with such atrocities inflicted on his own children and others indefinitely. Justice was served to him and Kitty. Kitty is even worse than Jose because she gave birth to those boys but she was so sick that she allowed her own babies to be cruelly mistreated by their own father. The crimes of the parents are worse than the crimes of the boys. The parents didnt deserve to live in all the comforts they had. What evil monsters.
Why didn't these family members come forward years ago!!
Let them go free
Set the Brothers Free🙌
I cried like a baby when they confessed what they went through...no child should go through that. Free them!!! The monsters that harmed them can not harm them anymore.
Violence begets violence. Their father was vicious and abused and hated on them from the beginning an Eye for an Eye they both ultimately exploded back at them to right all the wrong. The Prison says they’ve been good inmates and have served their long sentences honorably. Let Lyle and Eric out they won’t cause anymore trouble. I heard Eric saying he misses seeing trees the most.
Set them free. Nobody should have went through that abuse
Still does not explain the Porsches and Rolex watches. . .
Buying nice things gives a dopamine hit. Couple of young men inherited a whole heap of money from the abusive parents they killed and used some of it on therapy and a whole lot on shiny things. If they'd both stuck to retail therapy, they likely never would have got caught. Don't know why people keep acting surprised that tortured humans act out and don't stick to sensible spending.
@@Jess-on-the-Tube Please. We're not talking abot little boys here. They were grown men who could have just walked out. They wanted the cash.
@@rsenior7140no. You cannot simply walk out. Same with battered women.
@@MaktubJessexactly- you get it. The others have no idea what they are talking about.

Why didn't these people speak out and report this stuff to the authorities at the time it was happening??
‘Mind your own business’
@@kate7478 It's just so upsetting because if people had spoken out immediately, they would have been protected, and it wouldn't have had to go this far.
The judge in the follow-on trial that convicted them would not allow the abuse allegations into testimony.
@@thinkertv2163 But did these people report it to authorities at the time, immediately? If they had, there would have been an investigation, there probably never would have been a trial because they boys would have never committed a crime if they had been protected immediately.
It was rotten of them to keep quiet while they spent decades in prison.
The fact that the first prosecutor who clearly doesn't like the brothers admits Jose was a horrible man and nobody had anything good to say about him says it all for me
I wish Ashley didnt interrupt
She is so annoying, especially with that voice
It's a different world now.....these young men need to be set free. They were abused and tortured (with no protection from their mother) their entire childhood. This attorney speaking is so impressive!!!! My heart breaks for these men. The legal system failed them
I was a kid when this happened and I remember all the jokes on shows like Letterman about the Menendez brothers. There wasn't much else back then. They were either vilified or the butt of a joke. Sad considering what's coming to light now.
Now, this is a good friend and a decent human being
Why is she calling them “boys”
Because mentally they are still little boys 💔☹
Wow how sad!
Free the Menendez Brothers
I found it interesting no one brought up the awful abuses Kitty M. did? I could be wrong, yet I feel it was purposely done.
20+members no longer shocks me because many knew. There’s been intergenerational trauma on both sides of the families. A lot of GUILT…. Regardless, these boys, now middle aged men, have been in prison long enough…. Free Them
I want them to be freed, too. But don't forget the other reason that the family wants them freed. Money. When they get out, they will be making millions. And a lot of people are going to want some of that.
For interviews? Where would they make $?
Don't release them bc of what family members might do?? Free them because they deserve to be FREE!
Only one uncle wanted money the rest of family only want them home
Why are these interviewees and even this friend keep calling it “molestation?” Why are they not calling it for what it was, “incest,
sexual trauma, sexual abuse, rape.” If these were women, would they use the word molestation?
And physical, emotional trauma & abuse.
Great guest!
Free Menendez brothers
And if their father was actively abusing them when they decided to shoot him and their mom to death, then sure it matters. But apparently he was unarmed and asleep at the time they decided to kill him and their mom with shot guns specifically purchased for that reason. Even if the story about their dad were true, the only reasons for killing their mom were to get rid of a witness and stopping her inheriting everything instead of them. For the murder of their mom alone, even if she wasn't going to win parent of the year according to them, they deserve to be in prison.
Thank you…I agree with every word you say….These crazy people condone Murder, Slaughter….
I had a friend that came from a horrendous family. All sort of abuse..many children….But they were not wealthy….when they were old enough they all left the home …Never to be found…the oldest till this day cannot be found…Menendez want the money …they had a cushy life..
that former member from Menudo made statements about their father from stuff that happened back in the 80s at the recording studios
The menudo lead singer was raped by jose.

Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Daisy Clara.
Please what’s her contact information?
Why didn't the Menendez brothers go to the authorities and report the abuse? Was it because Jose threatened them continually? Why didn't all the co-workers and high school friends report their suspicions of abuse?
a lot of abuse went unreported in those days. I myself have been sexually abused, and I know countless others who have and they keep their stories hidden from their families in fear of embarrassing them and feeling humiliation. The last thing an abused person wants to do it to tell. they just want it to stop and they want to be away from their abuser.
what kind of fantasy world do you live in
Erik testified at the first trial that his father told him countless times over the years that if he told anyone about the sex, he would kill him. So, Erik told no one; not even his brother, Lyle about it until a few days before they both killed their parents. After the father tried to r*pe Erik for the last time, Erik told his mother about the sexual abuse. She replied. "You think I don't know that? Do you think I'm stupid?" The Menendez father was very rich and well-connected. If Erik had reported to police, it might have only made things worse for him. Remember, the sex abuse had been going on since Erik was 6 years old - long before he learned it was abnormal or illegal.
Do you realise they were children and groomed and terrified of their parents, and then when they got older, they were still controlled and abused by their parents. A lifetime of abuse is hard to escape from, physically AND mentally. Your questions show how oblivious you are, not to mention lacking in empathy. And, very similar to the questions asked of women in violent relationships: "why didn't she just leave or go to the police?" Leaving is the most dangerous time for a woman when she is most likely to get killed by her partner, and most of the time if they go to the police the police can't do anything until something had happened (usually the woman being killed ultimately), and I have no doubt in my mind this is similar in these ways. The brothers truly believed their lives were in danger, and if they had gone to the police, in the 90s when male r*pe and sexual abuse victims were not even considered a thing, what do you think would have happened?? They would have been laughed out of the police station.
THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY FELT THEY COULD DO TO ESCAPE THE ABUSE
3:37 they still smile... they are warriors 😮
Totally agreed with his classmate 👏🏼💯
One big problem with the court system is when evidence is kept out that can literally be the difference between a fair trial where all factors are considered & just railroading someone into jail. So many times jurors later on say if I knew that one thing I would not have convicted. Judges are not infallible. They're human & make wrong decisions & bad choices just like the rest of us & we see them do it a lot.
I cannot understand how it was considered acceptable to leave information out of the courtcase
