So it was only gonna play on juror’s heartstrings, when it was never gonna be allowed to color their verdict. Since the rape allegations had already been heard in the first trial, and all it did was hang the jury, the judge decided to streamline the 2nd jury’s decision with only evidence directly pertinent to a verdict. It doesn’t matter how much you are abused, it doesn’t give you the right to murder your abuser.
The DA is will review everything and will uphold the charges, if anything is changed it would create a legal precedent for murder being the answer for abuse.
Abuse is beyond wrong. These boys were tortured, and I can’t say I would’ve done anything different than what these two boys did. I feel so bad for them, and if court and cases were based on emotion- they should’ve never been in jail this long.
The problem is, it has to be based on law. Where is the substantial proof that their mom abused them and left both of them with absolutely no choice but to kill her.
You aren’t going to be able to prove that, ever.
Their word, means nothing. Why? Because when someone does something in self-defense they are honest- these two lied and had the police searching for other people for weeks.
Too many things don’t add up, legally.
So yeah, I feel bad that their dad was a complete asshole who raped them- BUT that doesn’t give them the right to not only kill him, but his wife as well.

I see which one you’re talking about. You’re talking about the show called “MONSTERS” that was directed by Ryan Murphy. Yeah you’re right, it is inaccurate and is definitely not a documentary. But, there was an actual documentary released today called “THE MENENDEZ BROTHERS” on Netflix, featuring over 20 hours of call and “interviews” with the brothers while they tell their own story. So this one, is a documentary because they’re the ones who are doing the talking. 😊

I wish y’all would put this energy into people who Actually didn’t kill anyone but were falsely convicted. Instead of people who actually committed the crime yes they were abused but at the end of the day they made their choice.

And a lot of families there is sexual abuse and rape. People don't go and kill their parents or family members everyday because of this with all about money and greed. Stop feeling sorry for them. They like to play it, play it up to the camera and to anybody that will listen. They're guilty guilty of sin

@@firenze5555 They did not tell the police it was the mafia. All they said is that it could have been business-related. The mob angle was something the police came up with when looking into Jose's business. If the cops had done their job correctly and followed proper police protocol, Lyle and Erik would have been arrested that night. The money they spent after the killings was in keeping with their lifestyle, none of that money came from the estate and they had to get approval from their relatives for all the purchases they made.

@@Muirmaiden They lied their asses off. The brothers were budding criminals. They had been arrested previously for theft of $100,000 (that would be $250,00 in today's money) of cash and property of their neighbors' homes. Lyle had been kicked out of Princeton for cheating. Erik wrote a screenplay about a son who murders his parents for money. FACTS. When his fed up father threatened to cut them off financially, the brothers murdered both parents for money.
