During the peak of my basketball dreams in HS (1995-1998) I was obscessed but had my days and weeks when I "felt" like not going to work out. Of course to me being good at basketball was jumping high. Make my free throws/layups/open jumpers. I had no idea what I was doing and ran like a chicken with my head cut off.
Your last tip really helped me man. That tip really helped me realize that I should be focusing on implementing my most practiced skills into my game, not just going for points.
Agree it’s crazy he doesn’t have more followers. It’s not just all about shooting and dribbling learning to let things go learning to be a great teammate so many other important things. The games played 90% of the time without the ball in your hands so that’ll tell you. If you ever coach you’re gonna be a great coach.
@@TuckerRichardson if you ever decide to coach, you’re going to be a great coach. Coaching my son right now and I’m dealing so Much other than Basketball. To me, I think being a great teammate is one of the most important things you can do.
another great video, believing in yourself is so important. its easy to let noise slip in even when its just unfair parameters that have been placed because there are so many different factors bursting and changing all the time.
im in middle school, and recently I didn't play as well as I knew I can at tryouts, and made C team, I was pissed, but I've been training and I can feel myself getting better. Part of this I owe to you because I've watched your videos and they are motivating and helpful. thank you
thanks for posting this video im a highschool basketball player and I love this game and want to get better at this. this video really helped and motivated me to do better, ill take this advice and move farther in my career
Man this is great content like it bro. I am a entrepreneur used to hoop and etc. But man so much of what you say just relates with success in general man. Got to do what you haven't done before to get results you never had. Success is so simple its just hard because it's so daily and not everyone is going to agree with your lifestyle. Success is controversial because it's against the grain of whats normal is society today. So I commend you bro keep it up.
Yo man 6:16 I’m glad I found you bro 6:23 I am a juco athlete in Wisconsin bro seeing you do great is motivation bro, I fall along those habits and I’m glad I’m watching this
Don't care what others think Healthy - eat well, sleep well, increase stretching and mobility Focus on the process, focus on the work you put in and your mindset
Great vid. It drives down all the points I made to me son. He just started playing basketball 8th grade year. I'm not a D1 ball but Im a big fan of the game. Got to show him this vid
Hey bro I love ur videos I started playing basketball last year, and I play at a basketball prep school, and this is my first time playing on an organized team setting. I'm finding it really difficult adjusting to the team setting, and my confidence is really shaken up because sometimes i mess up plays or drop passes, and it results in my coach yelling and punishing the entire team, and everyone gets mad at me. Because of this, sometimes i avoid getting the ball in practice because I'm scared that I'll turn it over, and sometimes i dont even practice certain plays with the team because I'm scared I'll mess up. I know I'm a good player because i really put in my time and energy when no one is watching, but I'm very inexperienced compared to the guys on my team who have actually been playing for a very long time. I'm tryna become the best player, but my fear is holding me back. I really need some advice
Just don't care how you talk to yourself is how you are you just are what you are your not scared you don't care say I don't care what people think and believe it that simple I am confident I am strong I am not weak no one's saving me so I'll save me
coming off of a bad injury and its my first year back i had to move to michigan for my dads job i made the ball team here but i have absoulouty no confidence and i try so hard to fix it but idk how what should i do
I think confidence comes from putting in the work, and taking it day by day. That sounds like a really tough situation you are in. Start by doing all the little things that are in your control really well, and then you will gain the trust of your teammates and coaches, which will hopefully give you more and more confidence as the year goes on.
It’s hard to eat healthy because there is not much food that is really “healthy” in the house but I will try as much as I can till I have the ability to do it myself
Hmmm, I get this as a younger player. You could try having a conversation with those you live with and tell them about your desire to eat healthier. Couldn't hurt?
Thank for this habits that i should have. I am really trying to be diffrent and work more. I am 13 year old (u14) from Lithuania and i am lacking confidence what should i do?
Thx for this video I really appreciate it bro! I'm a young hooper from France 🇨🇵 and I want to make money of my passion : basketball. But idk what think i need to work on day to day like should we doing shooting drills Monday and the other day finishing and the other shooting? Because i feel like dont focus on shooting 1 day is not gonna make a huge improvement, same for finishing.. Why should I do?
Check out the video I just posted on training, but my advice would be to work on shooting, finishing, and ball handling almost everyday. These are the 3 key offensive skills.
I feel like in this day and age it is way easier to get better at basketball because you have so many more people to watch like in the 90s you did not have these kinds of videos
Try to get more live reps when you are training. Put yourself in situations where you are playing 1 on 1, 2 on 2, etc. Sometimes if you don't go up against real defense it can be hard to use your skills in games.
Im in the 6th grade and live in india i just got selected for U-14 nationals do u mind giving me some tips like personally i am a subscriber also before my matches i watch some of ur vids to help me play and they really really do after i started to do this i have gotton 4 awards in 2 tourneys and back to back silver medals i want and will get gold my nationals start in 2 weeks and i hope u read this and give me a few tips!
Man i'm 15 year old with 6'3 and today i was cut by 2 aau team but i don't gonna stop working. I need to learn how to be a better guard cause i alway play center and its bad. I have potential but i am not a even a 2 start player. Do you think its over for me? Like a i need to focus on other things?
You are still really young, and if you love the game then I think you should keep working and give yourself a chance to be successful in the long run. And how many stars you are does not matter at all. I was a no star player in high school, that shouldn't be what you are worried about. Use the adversity as motivation and keep working if you love the game!
As a Haitian there's no way I can get an adequate diet. Plus it's not even worth it. The chances of any Haitian going pro in any sports are very very low

I think within a 1 hour workout even, you can get solid reps in all three areas if you are really focused. @@pucci2k915

Very funny, very funny.
what sound track do you use in the background
I would train everyday but I don't have time and my parents dont let me. Any tips?
Ask your parents why they won't let you. If basketball is something you have a passion for, you will find time for it!
Middle school players should be forced to watch these videos at gun point.
