    Im 16 years old and my team got some new from coach today, our team will be removed next season cause we are too few players. Two players from our team will be picked to play with one year older and the others will not have a team next season. I have 4 months to prove myself and work hard to make team, wish me good luck

    I know people who played in college or are there rn and I heard I’m already good enough for a maybe lower level school I want to play juco then try to go to a 4 year but the problem is that I literally did not play in hs cuz I had to graduate early and before that I was mostly independent studies but I spent 2 years that I wasn’t in school just getting better at hooping how do I get onto a team with no film and yes I tried to do aau ended up not being eligible for multiple reasons

      Join a mens league and get film there, but like you gotta dominate, like dunking on people and shit

      I’d say try to join a men’s league and get that film. Some coaches might even be okay with workout film. If you go that route tho, go find a good trainer in your area that can put you through a good workout that will showcase your skills. All you really can ask for is an invite to play pickup with the current players on the team, usually at that point they’ll determine if you’re good enough. I also don’t necessarily think you need to dominate. Just show them that you have a specific skill or two that could help a team and stick to what you do well. Be able to fill a role for them. Especially at lower levels, this is your best bet.

    question. i play for an aau team and i'm trying to be a second scoring option so i can help my team cause we already have a 1st scoring option. How do i have the mentality to be a great scorer and how do i become an elite ball handler and point guard. Also can i still get stronger if i have 5 pound weights and do bodyweight exercises?

      For ball habdling practice everyday watch vids and learn from them , secondly to be a great scorer i know this may sound crazy but just play like you dont care what i mean is dont worry about your mistakes

      A lot of ways depending on the individual but in general:
      1. Sprint fast: short to medium distances, all out as hard as possible with plenty of time to recover. This isn’t about conditioning, it’s about moving as fast as possible. You can also work on your change of direction as well, 8-10 yard sprint into a slide or into a backpedal as an example.
      2. Jump high: practice jumping. This could be jumping exercises or just simply jumping as high as possible. Probably the easiest way to do this would be to practice dunking or at least practice getting as close as you can. Again, this isn’t about conditioning so low reps with a lot of recovery time.
      3. Get stronger. Lift heavy weights. Compound lifts are a good place to start. Squats, deadlifts, lunges, bench press, overhead press, pull-ups, rows. Get strong at those movements.

    In your opinion what's the latest age to join a AAU/Travel team?

    • @VisionDrivenBasketball
      @VisionDrivenBasketball  27 днів тому +2

      Really doesn’t matter until 16u at the earliest. Most players aren’t going to actually get recruited at all until 17u. Still can be good at younger ages just to play against good players, but that’s really it.
