    This helped me so much! I average about 3-4 ppg (more of a hustle player) but today I visualized myself making buckets and had 16 points with 4 3s

    definitely haven't implemented this consistently but thinking back on it i can remember moments where this has happened to me...napping before games might be an elite strategy as well as that is the time for your brain to consolidate and run through memories of what happens to you, solidifying visualization memories further

      Yes exactly! Laying down and getting some peace while the mind works through stuff I think is a really good idea for all players.

    Great video! I play pro as well. Currently in Poland and I've been trying work on my mental game. I do some visualization for free throws, but now i really want to try it for longer and with other in-game situations. I do have the time as well 😆

    A form of visualization I use is when I am shooting around, I imagine the defender in front of me and how I would create a shot/get around them and create space. It’s helped me a lot!
    Also, great video Tuck!! These videos are so helpful:)

    yeah I would say it works I have read several mental toughness books and they all reccommend mental visualization I would also reccomend metidating if you can't focus during games or practice. It makes a difference in my game by allowing me to focus and perform at the heighest level

      Exactly, everyone talks about it and it seems like a good percentage of elite athletes take advantage of both of those practices. Thanks for sharing!

    I needed this. Im not a high level player but, I play for a rec league. I only average about 3 ppg, 4 apg, 5 rpg. I do great at practice and decent at open gyms but, when it comes to a real game I do so, bad. I believe I could do better though. I just need to change my mindset and increase my cardio better.

    Great stuff man! I have used visualization before and have found that if I visualize too much or visualize situations that are unrealistic it can lead to thoughts of negative outcomes and overthinking which ultimately hurts me on the court. Just wanted to see if you have ever experienced this or heard of it. Keep up the great work!

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  Рік тому

      Yes I know what you mean, sort of like how overthinking in a game can lead to negative results. I think visualization works for me though because it actually allows me to think less when the game begins, as I have already played these situations in my head. And certainly if you visualize negative or unrealistic things, that will ultimately hurt you more than help you.

    So how many times should i replay each moment that I’m visualising? And Should i do it with music or just block out noise? And my last question is how much time before the game should i do it?

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  Рік тому +1

      Great questions! And I think the answer to all of them is, it is up to you! In my opinion, thinking through the plays in your mind just one time, as long as you are doing it in a very detailed way, can be enough. I liked listening to music when I visualize, but that might not work for you. And you can visualize the day of the game or before it if you want. I like doing It the day of the game because it feels fresh in my mind.

    What kind of shooting drills did you do for better shooting?

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  Рік тому

      I tend to mix up my shooting workouts, but I always try and work on shots that I know I will get in a game. This means a lot of on the move shooting. I try to do as little stand still shooting as possible, especially when I am training in the off season.

    I just watched your video on selfishness and right now heading into my first season of High School basketball I can agree with that considering I only have two other players that care one of them is a Patrick Beverley archetype whereas the other is like a Kawhi that can only defend and layup and I would say right now I play like Luka Doncic should I help them improve by passing more or should I just take the winning/selfish route?

    • @TuckerRichardson
      @TuckerRichardson  10 місяців тому

      I think both ways can be beneficial to your game. However I will say, if you are the hardest worker/most skilled player on your team, then you will need to be aggressive an in attack mode for your team to have its best chance to win games.
