Hey!! 😃 *Scout* is getting big Cody!! That's a good looking pup! Sorry the new parts didn't fix the issue. At least you won't have to worry about replacing them anytime soon. New project you say!? 😮 Can't wait to see buddy! Take care and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
He’s not even 4 months and already weighs over 40lbs🤣! It’s too bad the new parts didn’t fix it but the exhaust pressure tube needed to be replaced anyways so I guess it wasn’t a total loss. Ya maybe, just maybe, will be bringing home another turbo diesel😉. Thanks for watching Zane take care!
At least you're getting it sorted out! Diagnostics can be a fickle thing to figure out. There's nothing wrong with getting multiple opinions either, it can put your mind at ease. Yay! A scout debut! Dogs are awesome. Usually full of personality too!
Exactly, there’s only so much left under the hood that could be the culprit lol🤣. The exhaust back pressure tube really needed to be replaced anyways so it wasn’t all bad. Scout is such a good dog with a great “happy go lucky” attitude in every situation. I couldn’t be happier with how well he’s been doing. Thanks for watching Wesley😀👍
Man, glad I found someone with the same issue. I have a 96 350 7.3 does the same thing at the same speed. Still haven’t solved. Did everything you’ve done as well.
Ya it is too bad, but the good news is that it can only be a few more parts in the engine that could possibly be the problem. I’ll figure it out very soon. The new project truck is in the works, nothing is written in stone just yet of course, but I think you guys will like what’s to come. Thanks for watching😀👍
I had a pretty bad failure this week too. I went to look at a 1994 F-350 with the 7.3 IDI, and I thought it would be a nice truck, but it was actually a piece of junk that blows smoke into the cab from the shifter.
Thanks James! It’s incredibly frustrating trying to find out what’s wrong but eventually I’ll figure it out🤣. The new project truck is home and waiting to be wrenched on😀👍! Speaking of projects can’t wait to see that Lightning soon! Take care bro!🤙
It absolutely is frustrating! I’ve owned this truck for almost a year now and haven’t been able to solve it (yet). When I find the issue I’m definitely making a video and will share what I find. Thanks for watching Patrick!😀👍
Check the 4 harnesses connected to the valve covers could be that I kinda just wiggled everything on mine it only has 130k but still like 27 year old wires....valve pan cover on the driver side seemed to be riding the cover and wore....remedy air compressor hose n high heat tape 🍻
Your low fuel pressure and P1211 is most likely caused by clogged strainer screens in your sending unit in the tank. Very common on the 7.3L. You can either clean them and reinstall them or do the hutch mod and eliminate them altogether.
Thank you for the helpful tip! My understanding was that the super duty Powerstrokes have a different tank setup than the OBS Fords. From my research the Super duty’s have two small cylindrical screens that get clogged because of the plastic tank material. Where as the OBS ford trucks have a single larger pickup screen. Do you think the OBS Ford pickup screen could have split? Do you know the fuel pressure of a stock Super Duty powerstroke compared to a stock OBS Powerstroke fuel pressure by any chance?
@@ydocproductions5593, the OBS stock fuel pressure spec is minimum 40psi at idle but under load it needs to hold that pressure. If i remember correctly yours was hanging around 30psi-ish. Yes the tanks are different between OBS and super duties. Your pickup sock may be plugged. I’ve also seen the fuel tank selector valve be stuck half open and suck air causing low pressure. Also check your fuel pressure regulator spring and screen on the fuel bowl, those would cause low pressure as well.
@@JLCmike4014 That’s good to know thanks! As a matter of fact I pulled apart the fuel pressure regulator off camera and replaced the check ball, screen, and o-rings with a new kit from Ford not to long ago because the screen was plugged with some black gritty material. After replacing it all it sounded like it idled better. But I’m still getting the same check engine light.
@@ydocproductions5593, that tells me you have crud in the tank that the pump is pushing through the system. The super duties fuel tanks had a problem of delamination but i’m sure it can happen on the OBS trucks.
Tell yah what. I can’t believe how clean that engine bay is. Also, that exhaust back pressure sensor doesn’t do much in my experience. I broke mine off on accident about a year ago when doing injectors and never got around to replacing it. I haven’t noticed any differences. I don’t remember from your last video, but are you getting proper fuel pressure. If your fuel pressure is dropping at WOT you would have a serious lack of power.
Thanks Elliot I appreciate it! I was happy to replace the exhaust back pressure tube just to keep up on the “maintenance” regardless. However this annoying check engine light is still on. When I tested fuel pressure under load I got 60psi at idle and got as low as 32psi at 50mph. So technically out of spec. But nowhere near the “danger zone” of 5-10psi for example. I currently have a very small fuel leak from what I believe to be the 1 1/4” bolt on the back of the fuel pump, and hose leading to the fuel bowl leak a little. However I can’t imagine that contributing to such a massive loss in power🤷🏼♂️.
@@ydocproductions5593 I would agree that the little leak wouldn’t cause that issue. Although it would make a good candidate for efuel! I just finished my kit and am super happy with it.
Still haven’t been able to fix the issue it’s still giving me the same check engine light since I’ve owned it so I think I’m just going to take it to a mechanic who’s knows more than me to get a fresh set of eyes on it. Once he finds the problem I’m more than capable of fixing it myself I just have gone in circles trying to find what’s wrong. STAY TUNED😀👍
Have you tried replacing the cps? Only $25 and easy to do. Mine was doing some bucking and stuff. Felt like fuel was getting cut off. If not Get a genuine Motorcraft sensor from Riffraff. Worth a try🤷♂️
@@1rolmos I have in fact it was the first thing I did when I first bought the truck and it still didn’t fix it. I feel like I’ve gone over every system with a fine tooth comb and still haven’t found it so I think reaching out for a little help is the best option at this point.

Map sensor on the fire wall was giving that code when bad on my 97 Powerstroke it was very slow when going up hill
