+Adam WArnes Only if 343 can keep their hands of it. Was a little disappointed with their animated series... You know, that Xbox One exclusive which is now, less than six months after its release, on netflix.
Adam WArnes, I agree, a live movie (bungie assisted not 343 ofc) of halo reach would be great! My only worry would be it turning out like Halo:Nightfall (sorry if I got the name wrong, I mean the one with lock in it)
i agree, a live action movie would be amazing, seeing how Reach and spartans would look like in real life if we ever gonna have the technology for them.
SinDawg030 The Spartan IVs still underwent biochemical augmentations to enhance their physiology. However, they were not indoctrinated from childhood like the Spartan IIs and IIIs and thus did not have the same mentality towards war and violence as their predecessors. For a Spartan II and III, war is everything they have known and everything they will ever know. They recognize each other by numbers and have only known their 3 digit call-sign for their entire lives. Spartan IVs on the other hand were drafted in from other branches in the military and still retain ties with their personal lives and families. In essence, most Spartan IIs and IIIs view themselves as nothing more than war assets, killing machines, whereas the Spartan IVs are just another branch of the military.
Also standard Spartan IIIs were sent on missions that were basically sent in attempt to stop the Covenant (usually at the cost of the entire deployment) and Headhunters also didn't have long life expectancies either. There's a reference to it in Halo: Last Light where the UNSC AI says "dying is what Spartan IIIs do best" to the monitor in reference to the members of Gamma Company who were there with Fred 104
"Noble Six. The team's most recent addition.... Hyper-lethal: there's only one other Spartan with that rating..." - Catherine Halsey what she's saying is that noble six is just as good as master chief
Luke Skywalker Unfortunately, and I'll tell you why I mean unfortunately, Jun is found and he appears in one of the recent Halo comics and introduces himself to palmer, wearing a suit and tie and shit. I mean unfortunately because 3fuck3 was too retarded to understand the irony of all noble team, and broke it. Carter was the team leader and died in his ship, Jorge was the demolitionist and died from a giant bomb, Emile was the close quarters expert and loved his knife and died with an energy sword to his abdomen, Kat was the brains of the group and died by a headshot, Six was a lonewolf who died alone, and Jun was a stealthy sniper... who was SUPPOSED to have never been seen again.
That's what I've been saying all along. The story and these trailers make me LOVE Halo but I never have that much fun playing it. Halo 5 was good but now that it's owned by a different studio, there's no reason they shouldn't change up the gameplay mechanics. There's not enough changing about the game its self to keep me interested.
So is everyone going to ignore the fact that one of the people in the truck next to Carter is Jun, and the guy with the red beret is Jorge? Since jorge was already a spartan and older than them
@evankowalski the precursor to the spartan II program wasnt called the spartan project, it was project Orion, and largely volunteer based. the spartan II and 3 program kidnapped children that had specific genetic markers for different levells of excellence/potential and trained them to be supersoliders, with the spartan 3s primarily for suicide missions and mass produced, using different SPI armor instead of the Mjolnir armor
They should bring this game to the XBOX ONE with an upgrade to better textures, native 1080p, at 60fps, dedicated servers, all the downloadable content (including pre-order and special edition digital content with the Eternal armor effect), fully regenerating health and default sprinting.
***** On the XBOX 360, the frame rate was solid but when it was first ported to the XBOX ONE through backwards compatibility, there were some performance issues. But I'm pretty sure they were fixed through updates.

to everyone who is wondering what this video means. it isnt official canon. official canon goes games, then book, then promotional stuff. in the books the spartan 3s were not just injected with stuff and then given suits. it took longer than that.
A life time of war? Spartans of the third generation are meatgrinder units, they dont live long. They were not designed to live long. They die young, anonym, no heroes. Like a little rock in the tide. One time, the UNSC wasted 200 Spartan III in a suicide mission, destroying a single covenant fuel facility.
@93neveron93 S3s program was created after first contact when the ONI brass realized they were losing the Human-Covenant War. The program had been operating before Reach's fall. The "Gamma company" was the class being trained during the Fall of Reach/Halo timeline.
@branmaaan12 this is when carter became a spartan he has been through a lot more missions before reach allowing time for his hair to grow, he didnt just become a spartan and get sent straight to reach he had missions before hand, then was chosen to go to reach with noble team
@chazzterXBOXguy Spartan III's were still taken from their homes around the ages of 4 and 7. They still conditioned and trained for years, but the major difference between Spartan II's and III's is that the Spartan III's were given cheaper, less effective armor and were deployed into the field around the age of 14 and 16. The reason for that was so it would be cheaper for the UNSC to produce them and thus could afford train and equip hundreds and potentially thousands more Spartans.
@iEatChickenz actually the original purpose of the Spartan IIIs was literally to be a dispensable super soldier, thats why they were given cheap armor and they were sent on suicide missions (not that Spartan IIs werent) but one mission went so wrong an entire company was wiped out save 2 people Tom and Lucy (Ghosts of Onyx)
@BeakyRed I don't know if this is right but supposedly it goes like this: ORION was DR. Halsey's first project, but it failed so she jumped to the idea of spartans, but to show that she didn't forget about the canidates that died from ORION, she called her spartan project SPARTAN-II, and I don't know the rest haha. (I pretty much got all the info from the journal thing that you get from pre-ordering halo: reach..)
SPARTAN-III project was launched as successor and supplement to SPARTAN-II project. It's main goal was to produce more supersoldiers in short time. Candidates are chosen from much wider pool and augmentation process is speeded up - SPARTAN-III's are therefore less advanced than SPARTAN-II, but they are cheap to train in large numbers - this means that they are expendable and are ideal for suicidal or nearly suicidal missions (many SPARTAN-III operations had mortality rate 100%).
@Iphoneoz Actually, Spartan IIIs usually have SPI armour, not Mjolnir like the Spartan IIs. Noble are the only SIII's to have Mjolnir armour like Jorge. So they all have the same set of armour, they have all just made different modifications to it.
@chazzterXBOXguy Also they would be trained to work in teams instead of being more of a lone wolf. Spartan II's on the other hand were trained and equipped to be one man armies and were not officially completed with training until nearly 20 years old. They were, however, incredibly expensive and thus no more than the first class of Spartan II's were produced. They also ran into problem such as not enough genetic matches to the ideal spartan. Despite funding problems, Dr. Halsey was allowed to
Right. SPARTAN augmentations don't remove such feelings but they severely inhibit the sex drive. So far, only one, the retired SPARTAN-II, Maria-062 has tried starting a family. For most others, the thought doesn't even cross their minds. Most SPARTANs are confused by signs of affection because they have been in what is essentially Special Forces Bootcamp from Hell since the age of 6 (SPARTAN-II's) and 6-11 (SPARTAN III's). SPARTAN IV's on the other hand (in Halo 4) are adult volunteers.
guys. attention plz. that is Carter if you look at 0:55 his name tag is Carter. and in the game he is older. aint you grow hair when you get older? in this video. he is a new recruit.
@groverkartikey good read. and yes you are accurate to some extent. The SPARTAN-I's and II's had questionable success rates. Chief was indeed a SPARTAN-II. However the later generations known as SPARTAN-III's were after enhancement drugs were improved. So far, all SPARTAN-III's from Alpha, Beta, and Gamma company had a 100% success rate. All 300 of each company in the program survived. What sucks is that most of them were massacred during certain operations.
@Legokink1 well don't forget that they did have flash cloning technologies that didn't give anomalies to organs but did when a whole person is cloned so any blood sample could be flash cloned
@uhsting it probably has some sort of sedative, beside, it was probably carefully drilled in a very very specific and minute area, same with the needles in the arms and legs
@AalTheEarl ur kinda right but throughout halo 1 2 and 3 master cheif has been upgraded so on halo 3 he was eventually class 3 and on the side of carter he was apparantly the only spartan in noble team that was class 3
I'm not complaining but this video really understates the process of augmentation....it's an entire skeletal reconstruction not just pumping a few chemicals into him. and they are connected to their parents either
@jeramahia123 Spartan 2's were the second group of spartans made. The original class was 75 but the augmentation proccess (like the one Carter goes through here), was extremely dangerous and rendered only 33 combat effective. Spartan 2's were faster, stronger, and far more expensive. Spartan 3's were 'expendable' compared with the Spartan 2's.
The Spartan 3s were on Reach which is why he has the photo of his parents. The Spartan 3s were all volunteers who were usually young who lost everything to the Covenant
@branmaaan12 this is him turning into a spartan ... when he was only 15 ~ 17. obviously in reach he got older, got promoted, order noble 6 ( us ) and the rest of the noble team around and grew hair xD.
this is similar to the event in the book halo:fall of reach, where a group of people were injected with chemicals that would physically and mentally enhance them, unfortunately the chemicals had side effects, a lot of the people died due to those side effects, some barely survived but they wont be able to fight in combat, but the ones who were fine, one of them was master chief, and his buddies. read the book Halo:Fall of Reach, i highly recommend it! :D
@111urnotme Hey, they're Spartan 3. Unlike Spartan 2, they're volunteers. Apparently, Carter, which is this guy, is the oldest trainee. So it is possible, because of his age and being a volunteer, he was allowed to have pictures of his parents
@jeramahia123 Spartan 3's were the "budget version" of the Spartans. The Humans wanted a cheaper but still stronger soldier then the usual marine/ODST. But training spartan 2's was just too costly and there was not enough time with the Covenant claiming planet after planet. It's covered in some of the books of Halo. But if you got the wikia of halo, you'll probably find some information about it as well :)
@sammyvhalo Jorge was a spartan many years before Carter. Perhaps he is Emile. Although only Carter and Kat are the original members of Noble Team if I'm not mistaken. Maybe he's the old Noble 6. Or it simply is not canon.
@BananaMartyr20 That was the Spartan II's, including Jorge and Master Chief.. Carter (and the rest of the noble team, excluding Jorge) is a Spartan III, a much cheaper and efficient alternative. there were around 148 Spartan II's, but spartan III's rank in the higher hundreds, maybe thousands as far as I'm aware, though alot of them died on the battle of Pegasi, as well as along with the fall of reach. (Huge Halo fan, take my word for it)
After reading the books, I'm pretty sure there isn't much difference. The Project Chrysanthemum is described to be very similar to the SII's augmentation procedures, and the difference is the one i already mentioned (it's safer and more advanced). And... ''titanium endo skeleton''? I don't remember that, as far as i know the process that hardens the bones is called ''carbide ceramic ossification''. And just because each training has different goals doesn't mean one is tougher than the other.
@anaconda186 I read the books, the spartans you speak of that trained since they were 3 are the ones from the spartan 2 program like master chief. Carter is part of the spartan 3 program which if you read the books you would know these spartans where built quickly and cheaply with the idea that they're meant to be expendable.
@MrRugbylord The itself brain isn't very sensitive at all, as it lacks surface sensory nerves, so drilling through the skull would be the most painful part.
Just watching old live action trailers to get ready for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Microsoft's biggest investment to a web-live action series (also coming full with Limited Edition + Behind the scenes), and if it becomes successful, there could be potential for a Halo movie. That would be awesome sauce.
@videogamer453 the augmentation process that the Spartan IIIs went through was decades better than the Spartan II, which resulted in an almost 100% success rate, the only reason the Spartan IIIs are not better than Spartan IIs is because they use cheaper (literally) armor, go through faster training, are from a larger genetic pool from the original parameters, and are trained to work as a team nothing else, unlike master chief who CAN and DID work alone after he came back to earth
@DruTerbrack24 Usually Only Spartan llls make modificataions. Jorge is a Spartan ll, but he likes Spartan llls armor better, so he try to make him selve look like one. If you have the game, and go to his voice previews, he says something like " Those Spartan IIIs really have a nice suit of armor ". Further explaining what i said. and plus, Spartan IIs belong to Halsey and Spartan IIIs belongs to Ackerson.
everyone observe. @2:30 carter magically changed clothes when he has a little sleep! like chief in the halo 4 trailer! it must be some sort of spartan magic !!!
@chazzterXBOXguy Make upgrades to the MJOLNIR armor series that was provided to the Spartan II's which was a massive expense which was why Kurt (S-052) had to settle with the SPI (Semi-Powered Infiltration) armor when selecting the armor he was going to give to the Spartan III's that he was in charge of training.
It's nice to see a quality developer like Bungie get the budget to do fucking badass trailers like these (and live action too, no less). They really are among companies like Bethesda, Bioware, Irrational, Valve and Blizzard as one of the best success stories in the business.
@kalo118 actually if uv read the books then u know that the spartans class 3 were created after the fall of reach and i think the death toll for spartan 3s is somewhere in the 1500's excluding those who got locked into the planet onyx
There is the fact that the Spartan III's were considered expendable by the UNSC. Only the best were given a varient of the Spartan II MJOLNIR Armour with sheilds, and upgrades. The rest were given a tough armour, but were equiped with no sheilds, instead relying on the sheer numbers in their companies (300) to overpower covenant defenses. This giving the UNSC a few months of breething space when they were deployed. But in the three missions launched, all spartans died, but were labled MIA.
You just explained my argument. The Spartan is the armor and the person after change in the genetic makeup, not just the person. Spartans aren't picked at a young age, the person is, because very few of the candidates actually survive the final creation. There are similarities, however Spartan III's are very different from Spartan IV's.
@Crysis2006 think about it, with all the "live traliers" they have produced they have set a standard for how a Halo movie should look like, and it could also be different ways in which they experiment with the Gear and feel of how the movie could be through the trailers???
@itchaba1996 Those were the original SPARTAN-I's and II's. Furthermore, they weren't replaced by clones, Their deaths were faked. However In this video is the transformation of Carter-A259, a SPARTAN-III from Alpha Company. All SPARTAN-III's were inducted purely out of volunteers. And while this may seem like a huge ethical dilemma today, the SPARTANS are in the 26th century. As per the roller coaster effect, people are probably appalled by way worse things than the SPARTAN program.
@SlushieTee14 they did less of the risky stuff that the Spartan II's went through, which caused a higher success rate but a weaker spartan... its in the diary that came with halo reach's limited edition
@MrPatheticUsername Bungie didnt make this ad, it was made by a seperate company under the instruction of bungie or microsoft for advetisment. It's not that they CANT make a halo movie, it's a question of someone wanting to make one who has the permission and money.
@Brutaka10 it the phonetic alphabet its what police and army use so letters don't get lost in translation you use the first letter of a word like m and n they would use mike and November so Sierra stands for S and that leads to Spartan so Sierra 117 is spartan 117
@keshaz12 depending on what kind of spartan yes sort of but spartans are captured from there homes before puberty because those vaccinations have no effect of teens after puberty
@TheMaczimillianMan you can find tutorials online on how to make your own. its pretty badass and a cool diy proyect. works great on haloween and dress-up parties!
I love comments like the ones you just responded to. because he is acknowledging that he knows the structure of halo better than BUNGIE who makes halo and invested into that trailer.
@TheDRG117 Spartan's are kidnapped, but this is the process of enhancing their abilities. Running faster, punching harder, jumping higher, increased survival instincts, etc.
Dr. HALSEY captured children for ONI to make Spartan II's, Spartan III's like Carter here were later created in mass production using people who were already soldiers and they were given injections instead of full body augmentation. They were given cheap SPI armor and sent on mostly suicide missions against the Covenant. And for your other comment, Spartan I's were just black ops soldiers given small mind-enhancing injections, better training and small physical improvements. Sgt Johnson was one

To this day, my favorite halo game trailer of all time.
REACH is so epic.
Honestly, i think carter shouldn't have died, but then again.
Spartans never die, they are just missing in action.

@xXmoditupXx Spartan 2's were made public to boost moral. S3s are a black OP, deemed "suicide supersoldiers" by the ONI brass
@branmaaan12 this is him turning into a spartan ... when he was only 15 ~ 17. obviously in reach he got older, got promoted, order noble 6 ( us ) and the rest of the noble team around and grew hair xD.
he almost got it all right. MOST Spartan IVs are adult volunteers, but surviving Spartan IIs & IIIs were given the option to upgrade.
@MrDethfan13 Steve spilberg is making the Halo movies but they will be based after the books not the games the first one is said to come out in 2014.
@digifalc0087 no. you can see that it did drill into him at around 2:08
this is similar to the event in the book halo:fall of reach, where a group of people were injected with chemicals that would physically and mentally enhance them, unfortunately the chemicals had side effects, a lot of the people died due to those side effects, some barely survived but they wont be able to fight in combat, but the ones who were fine, one of them was master chief, and his buddies. read the book Halo:Fall of Reach, i highly recommend it!
Man every time i keep seeing this live ad for Halo , i still wonder why they couldn't make a movie ....
"Spartans never die George, they only lost in action"-Carter, Noble 1, Halo Reach.
@cameltoejoe69 actually, the spartans were knocked out prior to the augmentations. this is just exageration
@videogamer453
the augmentation process that the Spartan IIIs went through was decades better than the Spartan II, which resulted in an almost 100% success rate, the only reason the Spartan IIIs are not better than Spartan IIs is because they use cheaper (literally) armor, go through faster training, are from a larger genetic pool from the original parameters, and are trained to work as a team nothing else, unlike master chief who CAN and DID work alone after he came back to earth
@2:30
carter magically changed clothes when he has a little sleep!
like chief in the halo 4 trailer!
it must be some sort of spartan magic !!!
@24hobosgaming the Spartans were taken from their parents at age 6, not told that there parents had died.
@TheDRG117
but Carter was 11 when he was selected to become a SPARTAN-III, and that generation was asked if they wanted revenge.
@barnabywilson183 Halo Reach was a prequel, so Master Cheif was the last Spartan after Reach (excluding the ones on Onyx)
@lotr117 the soundtrack is called "birth of a spartan"
Carter. From average boy to soldier, from soldier to normal spartan. From spartan to legendary Noble team leader. remember Reach.
I love comments like the ones you just responded to. because he is acknowledging that he knows the structure of halo better than BUNGIE who makes halo and invested into that trailer.
Because it's not the ad youtube WANTS you to watch.
@MasPutasTV because I takes years maybe even decades to train spartans. Noble team started training when John 117 was like 16
@TheDRG117 Spartan's are kidnapped, but this is the process of enhancing their abilities. Running faster, punching harder, jumping higher, increased survival instincts, etc.
Spartan IV's are adult volunteers, that being said, there are many Spartan IV's that are ODST's Marines etc.
@Chriskaercher. No it is Carter , Noble 1.
@MrZangarra yh your actually right
part of becoming a spartan does mean having your genatals removed
@TheDRG117 But the original child is still kidnapped. It doesn't matter if a flash clone replaces them or not.
