This trailer for some reason has a stronger impact than the original, something about the way Carter takes the injections and the aftermath. Something so human about it.
I think it had evolved (no pun intended?) in a very humane way: from action and horror shooters, to a short movie like this in which you can see a man willing to pretty much commit and sacrifice all of himself in becoming an instrument for the good of mankind (and we know how much he was also lied about to a degree, as the origins of the Spartan programme are quite dark and rooted in immoral actions).
K so this should help, There are 4 generations of spartans; Spartan I's Spartan II's Spartan III's and halo 4's Spartan 4's. You will never hear of spartan 1's because the project failed. Spartan 2's are the ones you're talking about, 400 pounds, crazy training and huge armor. Spartan 3's are like the ones shown in reach except jorge, he's a 2. Thats why hes so big and could pick up noble 6. This was carter in the video. A spartan 3. Lighter training than 2's but still really tough.
@strike3022 De Guzman is a UNSC officer who was stationed aboard the UNSC Hopeful.[1] He was seen during Carter's augmentation procedures. - Straight out from Halo Nation. You can see his name tag. He's probably one of the Sartans' trainers.
I thought the augmentation was alot more elaborate and involved ceramic and titanium fusing to bone, did the process get updated or did they dumb it down for the movie?
Actually Noble team is the only SIIIs to just the mjolnir armor (though they are more dumbed down a little bit). Noble team consist of members from each batch of SIIIs.
No, the original Spartan-I Program (Project ORION) was for adult volunteers in the UNSC(like Sgt. Johnson or Sgt. Byrne), then the SPARTAN-II and III Programs were all taken at a young age, Carter happened to be the oldest (he was 11 the time he was taken). The S-IV's were adult volunteers like the first one.
@Axisoflords You've done your homework. but note that they did not have SPI armor on in the game. And that they were trained for "high-risk missions" and survival is not expected. Colonel Ackerson wanted to do more with Spartans with less money (because Dr. Halsey spent the equivalent of a new battle group on the Spartan-II's) thereby making "expendable heroes." and SPI didn't have shields.
@Sevthewolf Not really. Technically that is; they don't start the procedures until age 13-14 not 12. Then they train again with the new attained body for maybe 3-4 or so years. Here a example is Carter, he's a S-III so his augmentation procedures are a 100% chance to survive. The shield tech is integrated into their Armor I believe, no spartan has to wait for that hence it's in their armor anyway..
@listerofsmeg85 in this video, carter would actually be around 16 years old. He was conscripted at 11, making him the oldest conscripted spartan. Otherwise the spartans are kidnapped around age 5-7 and augmented around age 11-12. by the time they're 12 years old, they're around six feet tall with the build of an olympic competitor.
And John, Spartan 117, the Master Chief, was a Spartan II, and very few of the original Spartan II group survived the Spartan II Chemical Augmentation.
guys Carter was a Spartan III, so were some of the others in noble team, some spartan III's where often mixed in with spartan II's. and some spartan II's were turned into spartan III's.
@jayboels These are Spartan IIIs (rather than Spartan IIs like the Master Cheif). S-IIIs are orphans that voulenteer (unlike S-IIs) and their recruitment age varies from young children to mid-teens. S-IIIs are more adanced, but less augmented, and thus cheaper and faster to produce. Jorge is the only S-II on Noble Team, the rest are S-IIIs.
@UltimateNerf64 That was only the case for the Spartan II project. There were no deaths or deformities in the Spartan III augmentation because scientists learned from their mistakes.
halo forge:land editing, water control, amazing graphics beyound our human thoughts, multiple saving options, unlimited money, unlimited objects, choosable skyboxes,pre-built maps such as space, ocean, high altitude mountains, and other major and minor things that would make halo become the ultimate forge paradise.
this is a great short film. my only criticism would be that the actor playing the spartan is exactly the same size after his procedure. in fact, he looks a bit smaller once he's dressed. but other than that i rate this video highly. whoever made it deserves a pat on the back.
Spartan 3's are almost Spartan 2's except that chemicals are used to augment them. They are also a slight amount weaker as the same results were unobtainable. To counter this they were deployed in large numbers and armed with advanced tech. As a side note, they received psychological augmentation to make the more aggressive.
There were 3 companies, Alpha Company was completely destroyed and Beta had only 2 survivors, Gamma company was mostly intact by the end of the war but i'm not sure where they are in the cannon timeline.
I'd have to say that the whole halo series is amazing wether its book or the games or these awesome trailers that seem so real like it could our future, Halo is the milestone of gameing. Keep it comin halo4
For the Spartan IIIs the process was more advanced, but less rigorous and more cost effective, as they were very expendable, pretty much every Spartan III died on their first mission as they were sent on suicide missions which no other unit would ever be able to complete.
weren't like all the spartan III's wiped out in the same mission with only a handful remaining? The facility they infiltrated detonated or something, I think it was a covenant refueling station they were supposed to neutralize but I read those books years ago.
@Axisoflords Spartan III's were meant to be the "disposable soldier". There were many more Spartan III's than Spartan II's which were much more expensive and had a high mortality rate in the process of creating them.
@Axisoflords What ever happened to the spartan I project? I never read any of the books. Is it true that sgt Johnson was part of the spartan I project?
Ok have to ask you my friend hated Reach, well the story part anyways because it didn't include the other Spartans that were mentioned in "fall of reach" do you agree with him.
Im a fan of this video game but theres a few questions i have unanswered. How spartan are really left? Are noble team spartan 3s? and how many types of spartan are there? And whats mthe difference between the spartans?
also, the major difference between the SPARTAN IIs and IIIs were that the IIs were abducted, versus the IIIs being orphans, mostly Outer Colony kids whose parents were killed by the Covenant. Not the perfect genetic specimens like the IIs, but great fighters when propperly trained and motivated.
@Xtirpater That was the Spartan II project involving people such as Jorge and Cheif, on the Video it's Carter and he is a Spartan III and they were alot more sucssessful
Yeah, that was mentioned that as SIIIs matured their natural abilities increased hugely to the point which it was hypothesised that they could more than match SIIs if they weren't sent to die.
Actually, there were three companies of at least 300 S-IIIs - NOBLE Team is from 'Alpha' and 'Beta' companies. There were no survivors of Operation: PROMETHEUS and two from TORPEDO - the NOBLE team members were on neither missions, and were removed from their companies after training (like the HEADHUNTERs). There were over 100 extra candidates hanging around Onyx; some became elite SPARTANs rather than guards. Onyx even alludes to B312's role as Ackerson's private hit man - he first wanted Tom.
75 Spartan IIs were conscripted...only 33 survived the augmentation process. as for the Spartan IIIs, they were trained 300-330 at a time (kids), the exact number of Spartan IIIs that were conscripted is classified by ONI, but they were alot given that the survival rate for Spartan III augmentation was 100%.
@VocaloidDTM da du gut informiert bist habe ich eine frage ^^ kann mir natürlich jeder beantworten =P in dem film wird ihm da was reingespritzt was genau ist das ?
plus, 1 out of of every 15 Spartans don't make it through the augmentation. most of them die or are severely crippled. "René is in a neutral-buoyancy gel tank, breathing through a respirator alongside Kirk-018, whose skeletal system, due to the carbide ceramic bone ossification, was also disfigured beyond recognition like René's"
Spartan 3s were implemented because there cheaper to make and were mostly sent on suicide missions because they were easy to replace. they didn't make a lot of Spartan 2s cause they were expensive and hard to make cause every Spartan chosen for the Spartan 2 program died cause of the physical impact on there body's from the surgery of putting in cybernetic enhancements. for every 10 Spartans chosen for the program only 2 or 3 survived the enhancements.
@Rokre00 and by cheaper i mean most spartan 3s armor didint have shields or gave them super strength and the injections they received wernt as strong as a spartan 2s injections if u still have more questions feel free to ask
@Axisoflords SIII Augmentations:Carbide ceramic ossification:Skeleton become virtually unbreakable.Fibroid muscular protein complex Increased density of individual's muscles, allowing heavier lifting.Retina-inversion stabilizer color sharpness is significantly improved upon and night vision is adapted.Colloidal neural disunification solution:Greatly improves the individual's reaction time, decreasing the time taken to react by 300% "Spartan time". @TheAsianDownTheStree I was talking about the MK III's in general, not in the game, everything else you've said, is absolutely spot on. Glad to see fellow Halo fans who know more than just the game as it is.
Why do those shots go in his head? I understand that the shots in the arm is probably steroids, But what would be the point of a drill mark in the head?
@MrCatpoop123 your right except spartan 3s SPI armor is much less advanced than MJLONIR armor, if it werent for Kurt deciding to where the SPI armor he may have survived although someone still needed to activate the nukes.
@cj1319 There chemicals. These, him, Carter, is a S-III so his augmentations are a tad weaker than the S-II's. The "glowing blue eyes" are when he's injected with "retina-inversion stabilizer" Which increased color sharpness, which night vision can be adapted. Most important part IMO to a spartan to visualize the battlefield better than a medal awarded Marine sniper.
There was one mroe spartan that redacted but was only included in the Halo3 edition Yasmine Zaman base don the wiki info she died due to complications right after or right before the augmentation. No serial No. was given to Yasmine...
@varhnic uhhh...yes. But...are you aware of all my comments about spartan III program? Can't you infer from them im quite aware of similarities and differences between both programs?
@SpartanJM51 Nah, in the books it says that they wear protective slim fit suits that have this gel in that keeps them at constant body temperature even in extreme conditions.
I love this live action, but I think a few things need to be tweaked. One, they were sedated while they were injected. Two, spartans were awoken with a baton with a shock. Three, they all had the injections in the same room, at the same time. I still like this video so please don't call me a hater.
unrealised? I could have sawn they put this up on the 360 store as a free download no? matter of fact I think I've still got this one and many more download to my 360
@Axisoflords actually while you are right about most sparan III's wearing SPI noble team were picked because of there combat ability and were given mjolnir to better suit them. also the spartan III's were created to be the expendable spartans and so were sent to certain death in an attempt to halt the covanant. these proved to be effective but only 3 groups of 300 were made as reach fell. This was not to spite you, It's just I have OCD with game trivia.
Correct me if I'm wrong but they sent the 300 spartan IIIs (lol, 300, I never drew that connection till now) on a suicide mission when they were 12 years old and only 2 survived, one male and one female spartan. I think one of them was Tom... don't quote me on that though lol
@rahumada79 That's over a 20 year life-span, of course there'll be Spartan II's that are deceased. But at least they can last for a MUCH longer time than a III out on the battlefield (Spartan II's had a shield system + Mjolnir). I haven't read too far into Halo: Reach as to why the Spartan III's there have Mjolnir, but that's not the point. Also, I meant to Say Frederick-104, Kelly-057 and Linda-058. (I accidently keep putting jess there instead)
No what you just saw was the birth of a Spartan 3. they only get the genetic enhancements. A Spartan 2 which is what master chief is gets cybernetic implants as well as genetic augmentation.
@vebgra dude weta (company in nz who made lord of the rings) was making the movie but the movie went bankrupt and they had already made the trailer and realsed it and also this is the birth of carter not a trailer for the brankrut movie.
@SPARTAIN088 You very well could be right, But I just figured that due to his alignment in the training process (which means he also has ONI positions) Made me figure he could have been a lesser augmented Spartan II victim, like you said hard to tell with such little info.
@ponyfang I highly doubt that. Those who failed are in an even worse condition, not being able to survive outside a green-jelly tank and some are even dead. I think he's a war veteran but who knows. There's no other info about him so he can be the easter bunny for all we know.
This trailer for some reason has a stronger impact than the original, something about the way Carter takes the injections and the aftermath. Something so human about it.
Why?....why does halo have to be so freaking awesome.
One reason - It had to launch Microsoft's flagship gaming console. And it has a highly elaborate book series to draw from.
I think it had evolved (no pun intended?) in a very humane way: from action and horror shooters, to a short movie like this in which you can see a man willing to pretty much commit and sacrifice all of himself in becoming an instrument for the good of mankind (and we know how much he was also lied about to a degree, as the origins of the Spartan programme are quite dark and rooted in immoral actions).
holy shit........ladies and gentlemen....the birth of carter....noble one
I hope Halo will continue at 5,6,7 and so on,and if they can, they must also make a movie,I don't want the HALO series die,I want it to live!
AlEz Tairlo you fucked us all
i always love live-action halo trailers
Spartan tears. rarest substance on earth

@TheLoNeDarkWolf999 Yes, Avery was a part of the "Orion project". He never fully completed the project, but in the short term: Avery was half-spartan.
These live-action videos are so awesome. I simply can't get enough. :) Halo FTW
@Sevthewolf Not really. Technically that is; they don't start the procedures until age 13-14 not 12. Then they train again with the new attained body for maybe 3-4 or so years. @Axisoflords Noble Team was given Mjolnir armour, whereas the rest of the of III's were given SPI (Semi-powered Infiltration) armour
Thanks for clearing that up I wasn't sure about the age for the S-III program. I knew the S-I program was for adults and so was the S-IV. :D
And John, Spartan 117, the Master Chief, was a Spartan II, and very few of the original Spartan II group survived the Spartan II Chemical Augmentation.

People keep saying how hard ODST training is, but they are trained from the ages of 18 and over, spartans are trained from when they were kids!
this is a great short film. my only criticism would be that the actor playing the spartan is exactly the same size after his procedure. in fact, he looks a bit smaller once he's dressed. but other than that i rate this video highly. whoever made it deserves a pat on the back.

@Axisoflords Just want to say the S III's in Noble team do not wear SPI armor. SPI armor doesn't have shields and can blend in with the background.
with the amount of live action videos that have been done there has to be a movie soon
@1138Skinner Actually, Kurt last name its in the special editions of Halo: Reach. Remember those spartan II files??? One its about Kurt.

Where are you getting your info from? Halsey talked about noble 6 in her notes and in earlier books.

@VocaloidDTM da du gut informiert bist habe ich eine frage ^^
kann mir natürlich jeder beantworten =P
in dem film wird ihm da was reingespritzt was genau ist das ?
@rahumada79 Are you aware that the Spartan II program was not the same as Spartan III's ?
I thought the commando armor was only available for commander ranked spartans. Does that mean in this, carter's already a commander?
plus, 1 out of of every 15 Spartans don't make it through the augmentation. most of them die or are severely crippled.
"René is in a neutral-buoyancy gel tank, breathing through a respirator alongside Kirk-018, whose skeletal system, due to the carbide ceramic bone ossification, was also disfigured beyond recognition like René's"

@TheLoNeDarkWolf999 just the II's i think (maybe also the I's). the III's project was conceived by Col. Ackerson
you sir have played halo a very long time *high five*
@Axisoflords SIII Augmentations:Carbide ceramic ossification:Skeleton become virtually unbreakable.Fibroid muscular protein complex Increased density of individual's muscles, allowing heavier lifting.Retina-inversion stabilizer color sharpness is significantly improved upon and night vision is adapted.Colloidal neural disunification solution:Greatly improves the individual's reaction time, decreasing the time taken to react by 300% "Spartan time". 0:41 Guzman? Any idea of who this person might be?
Why do those shots go in his head? I understand that the shots in the arm is probably steroids, But what would be the point of a drill mark in the head?
this 2min video is better than 90% of all movies made...
@MrCatpoop123 your right except spartan 3s SPI armor is much less advanced than MJLONIR armor, if it werent for Kurt deciding to where the SPI armor he may have survived although someone still needed to activate the nukes.
@john1112371 Noble 6 was also wearing a full Mjolnir suit which also had shield systems. The majority of all other SIII's didn't have that luxury.
@Axisoflords The IIIs weren't insignificant they just didn't really care about them because they were so much easier to make than the IIs.
@yolor7 You're saying he can't grow hair? That is Carter and that is his armour.
@oshbeats Thanks for all the back story! I really enjoyed reading it!
Is not Jun, is just another UNSC officer, Jun is actually about to take the augmentations wtih Carter
@likepaul then the wording is wrong. might wanna work on that so people dont get confused.
@RecoverRedeem stop complaining if you wanna get picky its "spartans never die, there just missing in action"
At end when carter is looking at the armor is that wat they wear under their armor
@SpartanJM51 Nah, in the books it says that they wear protective slim fit suits that have this gel in that keeps them at constant body temperature even in extreme conditions.
@ MwHawkeye117 They werent turned into Spartan III, they did what Jorge did and fought with them, or what Kurt did and trained them
heh. gotta love how he doesnt get koncked out for the augmentations that hurts so much that they would very probably scar him for life
I love this live action, but I think a few things need to be tweaked. One, they were sedated while they were injected. Two, spartans were awoken with a baton with a shock. Three, they all had the injections in the same room, at the same time. I still like this video so please don't call me a hater.

@Lindl3yUndead im not sure, but ive seen a list and it lists a few of the members of noble as spartan III's

does anyone know the name of the song in this video?
Correct me if I'm wrong but they sent the 300 spartan IIIs (lol, 300, I never drew that connection till now) on a suicide mission when they were 12 years old and only 2 survived, one male and one female spartan. I think one of them was Tom... don't quote me on that though lol
i would like to get the audio used in this video, anyone willing to help?
@TheGreatScottChannel Thats Helljumper. Wich will be a serie about ODST's
@RandomizationShow lol, the armor they show is carter's armor.
Guys, November 20, if Halo: Faith comes out at November 20 then Bungie heard our requests.
for the record, that is Carter when he was 16 years old...
Actually it did according to bungie
the fall of reach was re-printed, in it was some extra stuff and some correction.
Marine: hows a spartan made again?
Sergeant: Blue stuff.
No what you just saw was the birth of a Spartan 3. they only get the genetic enhancements. A Spartan 2 which is what master chief is gets cybernetic implants as well as genetic augmentation.
@vebgra
dude weta (company in nz who made lord of the rings) was making the movie but the movie went bankrupt and they had already made the trailer and realsed it and also this is the birth of carter not a trailer for the brankrut movie.
@SPARTAIN088 You very well could be right, But I just figured that due to his alignment in the training process (which means he also has ONI positions) Made me figure he could have been a lesser augmented Spartan II victim, like you said hard to tell with such little info.
these short videos cost so much money and just for 2 minutes imagine a 2 hour a movie the budget will be insane
@ponyfang I highly doubt that. Those who failed are in an even worse condition, not being able to survive outside a green-jelly tank and some are even dead. I think he's a war veteran but who knows. There's no other info about him so he can be the easter bunny for all we know.
I love !!!!!! All Halo !!! name of song please
well actually some 40 spartan II survived, although most of them went missing in action while defending Reach.
No, she talked about the spartn III's on Onyx.
The events of the game never happened in Halo Canon.
