I just sold my 2013 427 convertible. A car very similar to the Z06. You have to mention the LS7 potential issues which are possible and as they no longer make LS7s your SOL if it blows up. The issues are valve guides and crank bearings. The corvette interior is not anything of quality, chevy put the money into the chassis and the motor. I also have a 991.1 manual carrera S. Car is plenty quick and personally my car is a stripper no sunroof not much power anything so it's as light as it can be. I also have a 87 3.2 carrera. Build quality is much higher in the porsches. I sold both my Ferraris a 308QV & BB512i, last year, one of my 98 BMW M roadsters and the Vette. I actually found the corvette owners to be more of folks who like to say exactly what you have said all the clichés snotty ferrari and porsche owners. Saying things like my car will run circles around yours ect. I know alot of people who own many cars and they are really nice folks. There are great folks who own cars and then there are idiots who own cars. I had 2 Honda accords for DDs and I service my own cars so I don't care what you drive but how how act. Snobs come in all kinds of forms. I will say the more moder corvettes are good bang for your buck performance. Anyway, make some sacrifices and go get the car you really want. For me its about getting the car you want, not settling for the car you can afford. They make tons of them and they are on every street corner where I live. The same is happening with C8s. Lastly never make predictions on car prices, no one knows and buying a car hoping it will be worth more is stupid and a very bad idea. Buy a car to enjoy it and if its worth anything close to what you paid when you sell it you got a grand slam.
That's definitely true, I eventually did get the Type R I wanted to get. I do appreciate the 911s, and hope to one day do the european delivery with my family and travel across Europe with one, then bring it home.
I completely relate to your comments on car culture. I have always gravitated away from Rizzy culture. I drove first GEN Miatas for two decades because of this. I love doing more with less my recent C5 purchase has me a bit uncomfortable for this reason. It’s a Corvette, but at least it is a 23-year-old base model, that makes me feel better.😂😂😂
C6 Z06 will be cheaper, easier to maintain and you can work on it yourself. The Porsche will have a nicer interior and more panache. The Vette sounds better and it handles better than you would think. The Porsche is a result of its racing heritage and no slouch. The Vette will be cheaper to modify and the sky is the limit for horsepower. The Porsche will hold its value better. Both have issues that affect reliability.
I own a 2017 ZR1 with no mods and a 2022 992 GTS love both cars. Both are different, I have modded the exhaust and tuned my GTS. Both cars about the same in terms of speed, C7 has more torque, 992 better on longer drives and handles noticeably better. Both are great looking cars. Both are retaining their values. Depends on your mood. I tend to like the 992 nothing like a Porsche winding up and hearing it, although I do also love the sound of LT5’s visceral exhaust it’s my radio with a WOT. I also work on my own cars but that’s part of the passion I enjoy. I’ll never sell either of my cars. I recently drove a 2024 Z06 … amazing but I’m happy with my old ZR1.
Weird comparison… 2 different cars trying to accomplish 2 different experiences. You barley talked about the car’s performance and ability. You just mainly focused on how the corvette is cheaper…it’s cheaper for a reason. I’ve spent a good amount of seat time in both a c8 and 911 s. I enjoy the 911 more almost every time. Next time talk more about the machines then the price! I love the zo6 as well no hate just a critique!
Another issue with 911's is that they're EVERYWHERE. Here in Canada, i see more GT3'S than c6 and c7 z06's combined. Sadly, a good portion of porsche's current popularity is solely based on those who desire to be trendy as opposed to unique
That vette sounds like a BEAST ! 911 is classier, better interior, and I'd have to say the handling is superior to the Corvette. BUT... The Corvette is a legend, and the look and feel are timeless.. Bottom Line: Two car garage,I want them both...
I have a c4 1986 corvette I love I am original owner am modifying it too bring it up to 600 horse power will be great for me but I also bought a 2023 porsche 911 turbo s the most amazing performance car I ever drove wide body beautiful so fun thats what its all about the corvette is all American but plastic im sorry love corvette but not porsche engineering
I had, no shit, three S2000's and my current car is a C7 GS. Lmao! The only current car I even consider buying is a Civic Si or Type R, for different reasons. Great job, young man!
nothing to compare, everyone can see it, all your issue are about money, but if we are talking about cars, there is no comparation, There is a reason why those chevys are cheap, and everyone know about the reliability of chevy, good luck my friend
I get reliability, I own 2 Hondas, and I know German quality, I own two diesel BMWs, one with 160k miles. Truth is Porsche is overpriced, if it were 30% less expensive on buying and repair, it would make sense. But $120k for a base 911 with less than 400 HP is quite terrible. Even with that, I did try buying a GT4, they wanted me to buy a Macan as well, I passed…
@@FlyinGato I understand and I know you have more cars, and that you know about cars but the thing is that those two cars are incomparable, the video have nothing to do with the title of the video🤷🏻♂️ just an observation, respectfully
@Tehudis I guess it was more of a comparison for me, I started with trying to buy an FL5 Type R, dealers made me angry, so I went to buy a Porsche, realized you really can’t get much for 50 grand, and landed on this C6 Z06 bargain. I was skeptical myself at first, but after owning it this long, I realized that your dollar goes so much farther with this Corvette over a 911. I’d still love to do a European delivery of a 911 one day, but for now, the Camaro ZLE and the Z06 are so much bang for the buck, it’s hard to justify.
If I had the money, I'd get both! But for every day where I live, it would be the 911. But the money they cost, not what I want to pay. FK8 is still doing me good, no need for a 911 or Z06 really. Peace Elias. 👍💪✌
Honestly the FL5 is like 90% as good as a 911 S, with more interior room, and WAY less cost of maintenance. I can get an entire K20C1 Type R engine for less than $7,000.00, and that's considering it's difficult to kill these things. That's Honda for you.
@@FlyinGato if cost being the main metric to judge by, sure. I love my c6, but if i could afford a turbo S, i would choose that 10 out of 10 times over my c6.
Watching your phone bounce around while you drive says almost everything. Comfort, ride quality, build quality, interior plastics, and most importantly if you’re talking about the money equation, resale value. You didn’t mention any of it. The difference between when you buy it and you sell it is your true cost. The Z06 is a great Corvette, buts it’s still a GM. The timeless argument also is now gone since it’s a completely different car with the C8: It seems like you’re trying to justify your purchase and coping.
