Soepmonster96 rough is for summer cause of its dryness while cavalier belong to winter because of its damping, rough provided way better with volume and texture however the other possibly created layers on your hair.
I love Arcadian clay, best clay I've ever tried and I have tried all of the best on the market. I own dead sea clay and I find it to be a little bit to heavy for my hair - you can't get the same volume as in arcadian. If you have thin hair and you want full volume and textured looks, get arcadian.
Zlatan Ibra I have kinda thin/normal hair and rn I'm using p&p putty but I HATE it, it has virtually no hold, and it just doesn't work for me, do you think the Arcadian would be good for me? Thanks so much! :)
Landon The T. Rex I 100% sure it's gonna work for you. It's very versatile - that means that if you need more of a firm hold then just use more product. It's so light that even if you use more product, it's not gonna weigh your hair down. And the best thing is that you get a lot of volume from your first scoop - and it's gonna last you all day.
David Lin the thing is that a heavier clay (such as Dead Sea clay) on thin hair is just gonna weigh you hair down, even if you've blow dry beforehand. Having thicker hair is a blessing in my opinion since most products are for that type of hair and styling is a lot easier. Of course other factors come in to play, but in essence that's how it plays
Hey, have you tried out Apothecary 87? Ive been meaning to switch products as my own aren't holding up so well to what Im striving for. But it's apparently Robins best clay product, however, when I've seen it in videos it didnt look like it was being held up to its status. I also cant find ANY reviews on the product. But with Arcadia, every time Ive seen it be applied it looks great. Airy, textured, and put together with nearly no fly aways. Ive heard the scent is horrid though.
Hey Robin the Reason why arcadian considers them self firm hold is because its meant to be applied like a pomade, using 2-3 scoops. If you use it like that then you get a much firmer hold!
Quentin Alexandre that's impossible I'm pretty sure it has no oils, you just gotta make sure your hair is clean. I put in 2-3 scoops and my hair looks amazing
A way you could make the scoring better would be to have more points awarded for each particular category. An example would be to have smell equal 1 point, and styling equal 3, or something along those lines.
Whenever he talks about brand battle I wish he could launch both products as Beyblades and they would fight each other. The word battle contains too much nostalgia :P
Is Arcadian good for people like me with thick straight hair and you just want to give it a messy out of bed texture look? Hair is like 3 1/2 inches long, i think? Not quite sure it’s a decent length for styling.
Thanks Robin. I personally have the Arcadian Clay Pomade at home. When I use the Blumaan styling meraki as a pre styler and the Arcadian clay pomade as a post styler, it's a killer combo for me. I suggest that you do a product review on the new Blumaan CAVALIER CLAY. Would love to hear your opinion. Keep up the great work!
I'm not sure how comparative they are but if you had to, would you choose Mister Pompadour's Beeswax Paste or would you choose the Arcadian Clay? I just bought MP Paste today and I'm wondering if I made mistake in doing so.
Hi Robin .The Arcadian Clay Pomade is hard to wash out by water. My hair has fall a lot and it seems to stick on my hair after shower...Next vid, could you please do "how to wash out Pomade". Thank a lot
I’ve checked the link and I know this video is over a year old, but does anyone know where you can get Arcadian clay pomade because when I click the link the pomade isn’t there
Hey Robin, if you are really frustrated about the current point system, where the winner of the round gets the point and the loser does not, try changing the point system to be more suitable for your taste. A new point system I could recommend would be make each round out of ten points. The winner would still the product with more points but the amount of points the loser receives would be a bit more representative about how you feel about the product.
For someone with a medium length hair (down to the jaw), that is very thick, dense, straight and coarse (think asian hair), and that wants something that can give a smooth slick look but with texture and definition, which one of these 2 would you recommend ?
Trying to decide against the Northern Lights clay and the Arcadian because the arcadian has a new formula for this year. Or i may just go shear revival clay and regular pomade...can you use Northern lights first then go in with a scoop of crystal lake after? Or that would defeat the purpose and just be wasting the northern lights clay...im new to natural clays and trying to decide which one to get and not wanting to waste any products or money
it would be nice if you can define them what best for what types of hair.. ie, thick hair, thin hair, curl/wave/straight hair, short/long/ high or low volume hair etc
Thadnill I’m pretty sure he won’t see this because it’s a older video but I bought Jägership and I love it. It’s an oil base but it’s easier to wash out than most other oil bases. The hold is around a light-medium hold which works for my hair really well since my hair is kinda thin. The scent is clean with maybe a tiny bit of spice ( is not good with scents but I love the aroma of this one). Applys pretty easy for me even in dry hair. Really good conditioning effect. Definitely has a high shine and it provides lots of control. Hope this helps!
@@devilbaby2589 Hey Devilbaby, thanks for the detailed reply, now about the wash out. I have before tried Reuzel Grease medium hold, which is an oil based pomade. While that pomade was excellent i found it a little to greasy/Hard to wash out for my taste. Does the Jaegership wash out with 1 shampoo + conditioner or would i need to go a few more rounds? I also wonder if you have tried the black ship and what your thoughts are about it? thanks in advance and cheers!
Thadnill the wash out is a lot easier than the reuzel green. Jägership rinses out with one shampoo and conditioner for me. Jägership doesn’t feel too greasy even tho it’s a light, it’s more waxy than oily but it’s still easy to apply. I love Blackship as well! It’s a heavy water based. It’ll hold your hair really well and it also rinses our easier. It’s not as shiny as Jägership but that’s to be expected. I LOVE the flagship company but I’m being honest from my own experiences. Blackship comes in many different scents as well. Both products are great just really what you’re looking for.
@@devilbaby2589 So if I'm looking for a pomade that have a more lightweight and looser feeling on my hair, would you then recommend Jaegership instead of blackship? For what I've heard blackship does feel heavy on the hair right? I'm trying to find that pomade that have a light feeling, but still enough hold that it can give you some texture and definition, and washes out easier than my reuzel green haha.
Thadnill yes Blackship ship can feel heavy in the hair. Jägership is quite light in the hair. Although both of these don’t provide a lot of texture as they are more of a pomade more than a clay or a paste
i have been your subscriber for a long time and whenever you come out with a video having new product in it i cry deep deep inside that living in a different country i can't buy 😢 never the less your videos bomb AF bro
Your best bet is online but typically high fashion designers don't put much on sale. Only stuff that is from the previous season and those items are usually sent to their factory outlets.
Hey Robin. I have been waiting for you to do a brand battle with these 2 clays for a very long time and I am glad that you love these products. I myself have been using Flagship for a couple of months now and I think it is a really solid product, especially within the UK weather where you always have to fight the wind and rain(the struggle is real). Keep up the good work and I am looking forward for you next videos! ;)
bro I need your help badly. which clay I should use or which is the best clay on market? and also help me to choose between blumaan original & pomade. another question is what is the difference between clay and pomade?? thanks in advance
Hey Robin, thanks for the review on Arcadian Clay. I've just two questions regarding your preference of styling fine thinning hair, which I also have. It appears that your hair always clumps up whenever you style it with product. In this video, the clumping effect is more significant for Flagship than Arcadian. I feel that this clumping effect emphasizes the fact that your hair is thin and that you don't have alot of it. My questions are, does this clumping effect bother you and do you actively try to avoid it. Thanks!
If you look at his hair at 4:01(Flagship) and compare it to 3:55(Arcadian), the hair is more clumped together. Compare Robin's hairstyle against someone like James (The Pomp), who has a much fuller hairstyle look. I guess to clarify my question, I was wondering if it is possible to achieve that same full looking hairstyle even with fine thinning hair.
Hey, I actually have a lot of hair. The actual hair is more fine. Both products work pretty well, but the clumping sometimes happens with the product, not my hair.
Cavalier Clay by Blumaan review or the Third and Co texturizing clay. Also, is it ok to use conditioner in your hair everyday? Or is it better to just use conditioner on days when you use shampoo to wash your hair?
Whats the best hair wax/clay/etc. that you suggest for fine, streight hair to do a modern pampadour/quiff? (around 20€?) and could you do a how to from the hair of the Instagramer Antonio Pozo? Thank you for your ver nice videos and have a good time in London. Niclas
flagship is waaaaaaay better and stronger. its the only one you need no prestyler no finish jus need it and it holds and gives volume and you can restyle with it. also I have the of scent and its nice I like it but if you didn't like it the scent does go away once in the hair.
I actually contemplated on these 2 back then and chose Arcadian cause it's cheaper... looks like I made he right choice LUL oh yeah Robin there's also a problem though with Arcadian clay pomade where you use much more than other products so that can be a factor in value but I must say... Arcadian is the 3rd high end hair product I've ever bought and I'm sticking to it for a long time
Hey robin i just one to share my experience using arcadian clay. I think arcadian clay perform medium to firm hold in my hair type (fyi i have fine/normal straight hair like you and using about 1-2 scoop) and last longer than i expected. Compare to clay that i've tried in the past such as dynmatie clay from by villain and claymation from hdf i can tell that this one provide long lasting hold and perform better than those 2 product i mention.
Robin... first off love all your videos, best product reviews on the tube ! Now Question: Have you ever tried any of products from Brooklyn Grooming? 2nd Q?: have you thought about more fashion videos as well, but a bit different, daily outfit styles and hair to match?I'm hetero, married 25yrs 18yo daughter... nearly 50 still skateboard, longboard and surf and go to great lengths to keep myself in shape and looking and feeling young. Your videos inspire me.Keep up the great work they make my mornings....Nuff said.
Hey robin, you and me have very similar hair ( fine and straight) and almost the same cut. I'm looking for a textured look to make I hair look thicker and having more body. So what product would you recommend trying first?
Hey Robin! Great video and thanks for the help. Question... are you with Blake?? He's in NYC as well. Not sure if you know him or not. I'm only 4 hours away🙏🏼
would you recommend the arcadian clay, baxter of california clay pomade, or daimon barber #4 for someone who has very similar hair to yours? i'm really just asking which product do you like most lol because i want to buy one of those.
Finally 2 most product that i cant wait to try, thanks robin for this brand battle, finally i have decide which product i take first. And maybe in the future you can do firsthand supply vs lockhart waterbased? Or do odouds review.
Do you like your hairstyle just maintain the same for the whole day or you like your hair moveable and can be play with your hand? I just want to know.
Thanks for your product suggestions!
Good shout from you guys... AGAIN!

Hey Robin the Reason why arcadian considers them self firm hold is because its meant to be applied like a pomade, using 2-3 scoops. If you use it like that then you get a much firmer hold!
syed raza thats why companies really need to be more specific in their directions. Most of the directions are just way too general.
Put too much of Arcadian and you end up with a greasy mess. It's just not a firm hold by any mean, especially in the pomade world. Medium, AT BEST.
Tsar Marklovski it comes from a pomade market. It's common knowledge to use 2-3 scoops as opposed to salon products

I actually contemplated on these 2 back then and chose Arcadian cause it's cheaper... looks like I made he right choice LUL oh yeah Robin there's also a problem though with Arcadian clay pomade where you use much more than other products so that can be a factor in value but I must say... Arcadian is the 3rd high end hair product I've ever bought and I'm sticking to it for a long time
what is your first and second high end product?
Good to hear that you're liking it.

A thickening tonic for sure (Label M or Aveda) and then maybe a styling powder before using a clay.
Robin James thanks man! Keep up the great work

Eek... hard question. They're all so different and I'd use them differently for different styles. Perhaps Arcadian? Ahh!
the new O'Douds matte paste and standard pomade
Need to get on the O'Douds.
Finally 2 most product that i cant wait to try, thanks robin for this brand battle, finally i have decide which product i take first. And maybe in the future you can do firsthand supply vs lockhart waterbased? Or do odouds review.
Cheers Kevin. And good suggestions!

It depends what style I'm going for and what I'm doing that day.
