I used to not like these replicas but after learning how much time and effort is put into making them as accurate to a modern day recreation as possible, I have to respect them.
Yeah I like to look at it like it’s more of a continuation rather than a cheap replica.
@@AutotopiaLA 100%
and one you can now drive instead of keeping as a museum piece
And considering they can often perform better than the original says something too. At the end of the day, the driving engagement and experience is what matters the most with a car (and I think this is especially prevalent when an original cannot be driven at all.)
@@PapaTroll86 If they didn't out-perform a car from the 60's would be pretty sad. Materials science and engineering have changed a lot since then.
The C2’s will always be the most iconic Corvette gen.
C2s are stunning but I dont know what they did here. They manage to make it ugly.
@@mura0 They managed to make it look like an original Grand Sport Corvette from 1963. Seems like you don’t know about that car.
Agree 100% 🏁
LOVE that V couldn't help but add in information lol. Love it when builders can just go off!
Love that Vlado got some air time on this one! He does around 100 installs on Superformance cars every year and does some amazing builds!
Yeah, the stance is a little wonky but I can overlook that when considering the entire package. This car doesn't need a stereo. It makes it'ss own music. Excellent video, brother.
I love it. Too many people love that “down in the weeds” stance these days. IMHO
I agree with you about the stereo, but that stance is pretty much exactly what the original grand sports sat like from memory.
@@corriegillett2536 I hear ya on the original stance and I'm sure you're right. I'm just not a fan even though it likely serves a purpose.
@@richardtibbetts574 yeah, not a fan of that style either. Just think the nose needs to come down a tad.
Finally. He said "Up To Speed" and I am here for it.
My favorite vintage race car of all time.
I'm so glad I found this channel. You always have the most interesting cars
They did an amazing job building that car. Classic vintage, with just the right modern tricks to make that car an everyday/track driver.
I would never want to stop driving that car. I could get in, gas it up, have a pocket full of cash and being that I live in Los Angeles, I could jump on either the beginning of the 10 Freeway in Santa Monica and drive to Florida, or at that same spot Pacific Coast Highway also is where the 10 starts its Eastbound run but PCH goes either North or South along the California coast and I'd end up in Baja California, Mexico, in about 2½ hours or the other direction I'd end up at the Oregon State line in about 14 hours. I'd be happy either way.
Are they still 192,000 ? That's what they were 3yrs ago. The sound of those pipes gives me goosebumps. Thanks dude, TCB

That’s a gorgeous car. 500 to the tire in a car that will carve canyons the way that one will is way more than enough. People don’t realize how fast the old 2 liter European cars were on a curvy road or a tight road course.
The C2 Grand Sport has always been my dream car it was love at first site.
grand sports have always been top tier💪🏾💯
For some reason the stance on this car doesn’t bother me in the least! It’s gorgeous as is. Thanks for sharing …
It looks so freaking cool Jesus !! - kind of blend of a Baja uplifted front + performance car setup - insane !!
I saw one of these in sunny Scottsdale Arizona, going down the road, it was during the time Barrett Jackson was having their auction. It was pretty cool.
Man that color is beautiful
Calling it a kit car would be an insult
🤤 ❤️
Dang it squats hard on acceleration! Sweet car. 17:11 is such an epic shot, rewatched like 5 times.
THAT'S SO FKIN BEAUTIFUL! and badass
Love the start of this video... music to my ears
Got to be the coolest vintage muscle car out there. Well my fav anyway.
Cheers Shawn and Superformance 🤙🏼
Drive More !!
Badass. Love it.
Love the Beavis and Butthead giggles at 15:52mins 😄😄🤣🤣👍
Just watching in hot springs SD in the parking lot in the shadows of the hills, soft drink in hand and a lil something to smoke on.....life is GRAND😏
Enjoy brotha!
Baddddddd azz ride man thanks shawn 🙏
You're usually nice when it comes to driving the cars. I could tell you couldn't resist but to put your foot down on this one. You got on it a little bit. I would have too. That's a nice Corvette. My favorite part was when you said "God, I hate this car because I'm starting to fall in love with it!" Great presentation! I love when you do Corvettes! 👍
thats sick
best of both worlds with this kit car ,you can go on the road and rip it up and slap on a set of all terrain tyres and go off road ,plenty ground clearance
Perfekt
Perfection. 🤤
Amazing car!!!
Cool factor on 10!!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That is one sweet street car. Nice and clean, not over powered, and would be hassle free to drive. I can get on board with that.
It really was a lot better than the ones with the bigger horsepower motors. Much more enjoyable to drive
@@AutotopiaLA You are so lucky to be able to drive and get rides in such amazing cars. Except Fords, lol stay away from Fords.
Nice!
V was funny AF 😂
Wow!!!❤❤❤❤❤
The engine looks as flash as a gold and diamond watch..Beautiful Corvette
It's absolutely beautiful car in spite of the low rear end
_какие же красивые у вас автомобили!_
Love it, sounds beautiful ❤️
Awesome! It really does…
Even regular production Corvettes were 4 wheel disc, standard, by 1965. You could get a '65 with drums, but it was only with a delete option for discs, and then only while the factory had the drum set ups on hand.
That old school race wrap w/ the orange racing stripe will never not look cool. It sounds beastly too. 🤌
Not a wrap. That is all factory paint.
Sean one of your best
This is bad ass
Dream Ride
The original Gran Sport was 1995 pounds and 550 hp. They were built without GM authorization. Such a cool story.
My favourite Vette generation is the C2, 1963-67 Stingray, but in the coupe.😮
You guys got insurance? LOl love this guy
Trunk was not for access, it was to meet a requirement of the FIA.
Great engine and simple great interior. Greetings
Sean thanks again!
Nice..❤️👍👍
There are replicas, and there are replicas done right. This GS clone is a killer car. Nice one.
My favorite car
🤣🤣🤣🤣Your face says it all!!!! It would be perfect to take some shots with that year on a circuit, I think that there its qualities could be shown more, greetings!
wow estos son los coches que me agradan
From the colour to the interior and the motor and the tone is wicked)
Seriously such a wicked spec on this one!
@@AutotopiaLA 💯% bro)
I like the style and look at that car and I know the one guy commented on it wrapped because you do not want to cut up a 63 Corvette body shell and make it look like that that would be blast for me 63 has a beautiful body I would never cut up original so a shell with the materials that we have today will be awesome…👍🤔
Nice car fo' sho'.
SO COOL CHEERS.
Would love to hear about the difference in stability and handeling if a set of pilot sport 4s tires were put on.
I've never been much of a follower but I have to agree with you Shaun. I would also prefer changing the stance of the car to get rid of that squat in the back.
In the original race footage at 1:38 min. of your video the Vette didn't have that squat going through the corners.
This car has a softer composite rear spring for road driving. It also helps the car really hook up. You can order whatever stiffness you want in the composite rear spring.
Second view is wild
Dope vid as usual Shaun. Keep them fucking coming🤟🏾🔥
Love all your stuff and showcasing these amazing, functional pieces of art and horsepower. That rear suspension and rearend is wild…is that period correct for that whole rear end setup?
I’d love another GT40 video with Superformance!!! They make such killer cars
We’ll shoot one soon!
Bad ass car....check out the Big Red C2 Corvette.
Very nice! Last year at a Silicon Valley C&C I got to see a real GS, the Winters sidedraft Weber intake was the giveaway (377ci gen1 sbc sounded killer)
That’s awesome !
I never thought I'd get to see one in person!
Nice vette 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Who has more fun at their job????….you or Nicole Johnson?
Ever met her?
This machine is so legit 😎💪🏁
I've always wondered how much those backwards pontoon fender flares slow cars down.
Crazy that the car is built 7/8 scale. I'm curious to know if it's very obvious in person. 🤔
Badass ride! I prefer single color. Guards Red would destroy my already tatered driving record!
Es hermoso cuánto costará?
My 17' SS Camaro 6 speed will top out at 178mph. 6.2 Lt1 eng. 455hp net. About 500hp at the crank.
Cool car. Seems like the rear has a lot of squat under acceleration, lightens the front. Not sure if this is best for road course (racing). I could be wrong.....
I mean this when i say it...i want literally every car i own to sound like this....
Ubirajara cool Chevrolet corvette traks you autotopia
So Geil liebe Grüße aus Bavaria
I see the newest Ruffian Mustang in the Superformance 'showroom'. For sale? I also saw a Superformance Corvette in the Ruffian shop. Special Ruffian Superformance Corvette coming?
Yes the Ruffian FIA is here and for sale. And yes Chris is building a Ruffian GS, it’s going to be wicked!
It IS stanced right, Shawn! All this "slammed to the floor" nonsense - you wouldn't have that caper if you had roads like we do!! 🙈😂
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The Grand Sport has always looked a little bit "off" to me. Perhaps it's the nose-high attitude or the exaggerated wheel openings. But certainly the performance is there. Thanks Shawn.
you guys must love farts with how many times you ripped past the sewage treatment plant. LOL
If they got rid of the holes in the back and gave it pop up headlights that thing would be pretty friggin awesome. EDIT: I see what they did it now, for the history. Ok, I get it.
The C2 corvette and the Shelby Cobra 427 competition model are by far the best cars to come out of America. Well… And the Ford GT of course but I’m not a Ford guy so… Lmao but still can’t deny the Ford GT probs deserved for it.
Clean as F💪🤬🎸
Hell yeah!
Legend 🤔
L--88 ?? 😢 A Tribute 🤷
Pure Adrenaline 😜✌️
👍👍
I'd drive one of these GS replicas over a real Ferrari or Lambo all day everyday. I would not lower it.
They're beautiful.
Shawn: This GS or Dave Tous’s mustang??
😮
What material is the body made from, fiberglass, carbon fiber or steel?
It wouldn't be SUPERFORMANCE car without a small pedal box!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣At least this one looks a little bit bigger than the tiny Cobra!
I don't think I'd ever build another Cobra, but I'd build one of these! And I'm Ford guy!
is plural of mongoose mongooses.... or mongeese? I aint always got the light on upstairs. And even then... i aint always home. :)
i work right near them....and never stop to hassle dudes i see in side piped stingrays....or cobras....if theyre going to superformance XD or if their build was done there. ALL i know is if they say yes....these dudes work hard or EARN hard...and are no joke if theyre getting work done by them. Kinda ppl to pick the brains of and pick up some GAME on...if you ever want something this spectacular. 408 stroker LS....but not 8:47...overly stroked XD see i was wondering these things myself once i heard 408...or how high it revs or where the 400+ comes into the powerband....but now that i know its not over stroked....im more interested in how DEEP the torque curve is and the figures on that end given the cars weight/tune. W.O crucial exits or epic straights....idk if the "uber" power figure range aspects even come into play vs how STREETABLE that near 500 HP is and how EPIC the torque curve appears to be as well. Thing looks like an absolute dream to own/drive as a street car and equally as a track focused endeavor. Or a car you could drive to the track with a "posse/team" to dial things in and bring extra sets of rubber. Id love to see this in the laguna seca classic run if it happened or happens to make a go of things there.
The sound is really matching the car😢
What’s the retail on one of those ?
Base price for the Rolling Chassis less drivetrain starts at $189,950 with build slots currently available for 3rd quarter 2025.
Yes they made FEI in the 60’s…. 63 split window, 327 4 speed … …. Was it what today’s is, no.. it was there just under utilized new tech wise
Sorry EFI.
Sorry, just had to point it out since that was the first car I got a rip in as a 6 yr old
Made it since ‘57
Rochester Ramjet Fuel Injection is not EFI, it’s mechanical fuel injection.
