I had the weirdest feeling of dread with "Force Awakens," knowing that Disney bought the franchise and wondering how they'd replace an opening like this and then... Silent Lucasfilm logo.... Once upon a time.... Cue Star Wars fanfare. It's like Disney knew they could never find an adequate substitute for this intro, so they didn't even try. Bittersweet in it's own way.

The best solution that Disney could have done with the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy...is to simply have the 20th Century Studios Logo & Fanfare before all 3 films. Certainly there wasn't anything stopping them from doing exactly that.
Amen. Being a movie buff/ historian, what I miss the most in regards to modern Hollywood is that there isn't the personality of each company. Beth Hamilton you do know 20th Century Fox is still making movies, right? They’re just owned by Disney, now. I’m still not sure how I feel about that because Star Wars under Disney sucks, but Marvel under Disney is awesome. So weird
It would be so amazing if in The Rise of Skywalker, instead of seeing the silent Lucasfilm logo, you hear the 1977 Fox fanfare with the original Lucasfilm logo and then it fades into the crawl
I was thinking about this the other day, and it kinda made me sad. This is Star Wars as I remember it. And we'll never hear this again. At least not with the 20th Century Fox fanfare.
First job at 16. Tower theatre Springfield Mo. Star Wars started out platforming in larger markets before going wide . Our chain opened it in Kansas City exclusive at the flagship Glenwood Theatre in Overland Park KS. Nobody knew what is was early on. It broke the house record in a venue that had broken a lot of records over the years . At least we knew what to expect before we got it a few weeks later! Played it until Christmas.
I feel like that theme would be perfect, like in an Alternate Reality, let's say, that they used this theme for a Fantastic Four movie, set in the MCU, and they ended the movie with this theme, with either the Human Torch, flying up into the sky, making a 4 of fire, like he does in the comics and the 2005 movie. Or Mr Fantastic takes a family photo of them, all together, and just as this theme ends, is when he takes the picture, with it saying "The First Family" that'll be epic!
I remember when I watched Star Wars a new hope on vhs When I was about 3 years old before I was 4 my cousin introduced me to Star Wars and I absolutely fell in love with it .
As the 2019 Disney+ and 4K Blu Ray release used the original font for “A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away....” for the original Trilogy, does anyone else think they should have also reverted back to the original 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm logo too?
Watching the Star Wars Doccumentary: "Empire of Dreams", when the day arrived of Star War's Premier, they played the 1977 20th Century Fox intro as the narrator says: "On the Eve of Star War's release, 20th Century Fox, George Lucas, and the cast and crew braced themselves for the worst. One way or another, May 25th, 1977, would be a day they'd never forget." A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
I don't know why, even though the later movies' fanfares are in superior quality, somehow the A New Hope fanfare sounds the best to me (0:10, 1:44, 2:07).

Beth Hamilton you do know 20th Century Fox is still making movies, right? They’re just owned by Disney, now. I’m still not sure how I feel about that because Star Wars under Disney sucks, but Marvel under Disney is awesome. So weird
@@Howlingburd19 Hey buddy, I'm not sure if you can take this, but 20th Century Fox just changed their name to 20th Century Studios.
I wasn’t even born in the 1970s, but I will ALWAYS prefer the original theatrical versions over the special editions any day.
Me too.
You mean 1994,s.
I wanna see the Fox logo return for Star Wars episode 9 since Disney both owns Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox.
The first one the 1953 Fox fanfare was used but it was condensed.
It would be so amazing if in The Rise of Skywalker, instead of seeing the silent Lucasfilm logo, you hear the 1977 Fox fanfare with the original Lucasfilm logo and then it fades into the crawl
What about the 20th Century-Fox logo in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker?
Naminski That’s what I meant
Yes
The original trilogy will always be the best! The 1977 fanfare is god-like
I’d say my favorite logo variation would probably be Revenge of the Sith.
I was thinking about this the other day, and it kinda made me sad. This is Star Wars as I remember it. And we'll never hear this again. At least not with the 20th Century Fox fanfare.
the 2005 one is my favourite
The best feeling ever
Honestly it doesn’t feel like Star Wars anymore without the 20th Century Fox intro and the old Lucasfilm symbol.
Disney killed a classic, feels weird whenever I watch the sequels
May Lucas be with you
First job at 16.
The original 1977 Lucasfilm limited production logo would’ve made a great official t-shirt for May 4th

May the force be with you

May the force be with you!
0:11 Grandeur70 Fanfare
They should add the fanfare back to ep 9 just add a little mickey logo somewhere.
I prefer the old 20th century fox and Lucas film Ltd intro to the remake for episode 4,5 and 6. It looks more cinematic.
I remember when I watched Star Wars a new hope on vhs When I was about 3 years old before I was 4 my cousin introduced me to Star Wars and I absolutely fell in love with it .
I was 7 years old at that time.
As the 2019 Disney+ and 4K Blu Ray release used the original font for “A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away....” for the original Trilogy, does anyone else think they should have also reverted back to the original 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm logo too?
Of course! I don't care much for logo plastering.
When I see this, I imagine my dad as a kid, young adult and in a date with my mom when I see this because my dad is a big fan of star wars
2:08 Grandeur 10 Confirmed
?
Hopefully they can use these again since Disney bought Fox
Beautiful 5 mins
If it doesn't have this intro, it's not Star Wars
Force Awakens, (cough) Rogue One, (cough cough), Last Jedi, (cough cough cough), Solo.
@@ThePoreproductions Like he said
@@ThePoreproductions Rise of Skywalker (cough cough cough cough).
Screw the sequel trilogy.
@@ThePoreproductions I don’t consider any of those to be “star wars” movies besides rogue one ig
One way or another, May 25th, 1977, would be a day they'd never forget."
A long time ago, in a galaxy far,
far away...
the most epic film intro ever
I miss the THX sound too . The Fox was with them a Long Time Ago .
Goodbye Star Wars and 20th Century Fox, we may still see you when us watch star wars 🫡
I don't know why, even though the later movies' fanfares are in superior quality, somehow the A New Hope fanfare sounds the best to me (0:10, 1:44, 2:07).

It wasn't unique to the movie like the others, it was the usual one with minor tweaks
This is like the best intro like EVER! Why pull it off…??? This was my best favorite ever combination start of the movie.. All but Disney but George was the original 🫡
Still shocks me how this movie gave birth to the fanfare we all know today
I miss the good old days.
Good stuff, thank you...😉👍
