I'm hoping Warner Bros. should buy MGM so they could reunite with MGM if they already bought MGM.

This has to be the most bipolar lion I've ever seen. The one from the 40s until the modern one I think in 1957 is the only other one I've actually seen while watching a movie, and it's easily the 2nd best one after the current one. The one from the 40s until the modern one I think in 1957 is the only other one I've actually seen while watching a movie, and it's easily the 2nd best one after the current one. A lot of the other ones it seems so awkward, the ones from the 20s and earlier the lion looks like it doesn't understand what's happening lol.

I'm glad they kept the live action Lion for the Hanna-barbara Tom and Jerry shorts. There's just something about a live action Lion welcoming you to watch a cartoon of a cat getting its ass handed to by an mouse with its iconic theme music.
Tanner is the original lion appearing in the original Tom and Jerry cartoon in the beginning (especially in the one where Tom immediately replaced the lion; I'm mentioning this because I used to think it was Leo because of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer being written above the movie tape roll logo when it was actually Tanner since Leo appeared in the one with MGM's name above). 🦁

But the still-frame one was still used in certain movies, one of them being Ben-Hur (1959) The reason why it was used in Ben-Hur was because the director (William Wyler) believed the one with the roar would feel out of place out of the opening nativity scene (“nativity” means the process or circumstances of being born).

The 1934 Leo seemed to be the hardest one. Runner-up to 1942. From 1942-1956 the various Leos give a part-hard/part-cheesing the camera! And the 1956 Leo --- WOW! Full Metal Afro mane so large, it almost looks like a lion's toupee! LOL! Couldn't get anyone near it to get a haircut!!! And then, 1957 --- it got shaved fo-EVER!!! :-(
