Just picked up this amp to replace my Sony XM-S400D in my 2011 Mustang. Had terrible peaking a 6KHZ from the head unit and this fixed almost all of it. Great amp!
Great video guys and the tips are top notch!! Added this to my 2024 Civic Sport hatch and WOW!!!! Added the Kicker powered 12 sub and WOWIEE!!! In my opinion the Kicker 12 blew away the Rockford Fosgate 12, great system! I tested both.
I've been watching quite a few of your videos you guys do awesome work .... I also caught seagulls in the background.... I love hearing seagulls by the beach
I just bought this on Amazon waiting for delivery 🚚 maybe today or Tomorrow. For my Jeep Gladiator installed kenwood 6x9’s on top & kenwood 2.5” front & Kenwood 5.6 on bottom. Just needs a little bass thats all. Sounds Great as it is but with no bump, Hope this amp works for me. 😅🤞🏼
Why kicker didn't add a DSP control preamp output on the 200.4 is beyond me. Hopefully they will produce a key 350/6.1 75X2, 50X4, with a DSP controlled sub out. 3way active front stage or 2way active front+ rear. With a DSP controlled sub out.
Lol. This is basically a power pack buddy. It does a excellent job though, especially for what it is. Yea, If you want more power, you will need to go to a full range 4 channel amp.
I have a question I get the T-harness that you can cut in half to connect one end to input and other end output of stock stereo for my Toyota. I only want to power front speakers in bi-amp. would I have to solder only the front speakers to the 9wire or do I have to still solder color for color ?
Did you hook the center speaker up before you ran the setup with the mic? I contacted kicker and they told me to unhook the center speaker run the setup and hook it back up
Being that I have a higher end stereo system with a factory sub in the back, can I use this for the 4 front speakers ( doors) and run a powered sub to the factory sub wires already run to the back? If not...what would you suggest? Love the video...great information!
I have a 2021 f150 supercrew with the NON B&O systesm (7 speaker system). If I were to use the Kicker Key 200.4 the same way as you did in this video, would I need to disconnect the two tweeters in the a-pillers and the midrange speaker on the dash to use the microphone and have it EQ itself? Also, I have a Kicker HS10, will that need to be disconnected when having the Kicker Key 200.4 EQ itself? The Kicker HS10 is tapped into the front driver side door speaker.
Wow this sounds brilliant! I need something for my small European Honda Civic 2008. I went OVERBOARD on my last audio install and man I thought expensive>sounds good. I brought a Audison 360 4 channel amp, Millie Hertz Pro speakers and they sounded S**T, the little Volkswagen fox I did the install in, which was built to much lower standards then other Volkswagens sounded better! Also I am scratching my head over this hopefully you can reply or someone else can, can I just use my aftermarkets RCAS into this without chopping them off and directly wiring the other side to the speakers? Trying to make this a simple install I keep seeing people make a harness but since I have a aftermarket stereo will I need to do this?
I have an 2019 Nissan pathfinder and would like to do this. It doesn't have the Bose premium system, but the front has dash and door & the rear has door speakers. How could I set this particular amp up?
I have a question, if I use the kicker key 200.4 in a 2022 GMC Canyon, which has the woofer and tweeter in parallel, will this affect the amps ability to program itself?
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc thank you for the feedback! I’m looking forward to installing it all tomorrow. I really appreciated the video explains how to build a loop system with a T Harness.
Because in order to integrate with the stock radio you need a Pac Amp Pro, Idata AR/DSR1, or Navtv zen module. Then you're better off using a real DSP since those modules are between 300-650 dollars before even purchasing any equipment
@@melissathompson7229 The key will "work" with almost any factory system premium or not. Plus a solution like the pac or zen is not available for every car (ask me how I know). My assumption is that while the key amp would still work it would not be ideal for factory systems that have more than just the typical front/rear left right speakers. If the premium system includes a center channel or other atypical locations the key system is probably not the best choice if you want to keep all the factory speaker locations. I do think it is a little short sided to make a blanket statement about "premium" stereos as there are still many the key amps would be a great option.
I think running a bunch of loose 16 or 18 awg speaker wire is actually more space efficient versus having 1 thick 4 awg wire because its harder to fit along side other wires under trim clips and such with loose speaker wires you can divide up the space to make it fit better so I'm not a big fan of speed wire for that reason
I’ve heard them say to send an email in previous videos. I think they are usually out a good 2-3months, maybe 1-2. You should be able to find all that info by following their links on their channel.
You said that if you have a premium system this amp isn't for you. Why is that? Real question not being rude. I have a 2024 Silverado with the premium Bose system and was looking pretty hard at this amp for the door speakers and tweeters.
The center speaker is basically a crutch for the crappy factory system. I'm running a JL audio amp with focal speakers, and have the center speaker completely disconnected. Absolutely nothing in the way of sound quality was lost. If your door speakers and 'A' pillar tweeters are legit quality, you won't need that center speaker.
This amp is pretty small. I have a f150 supercrew and was wondering if I could mount it in the dash somewhere rather than running wires back and forth.?
Best Kicker Key video ive seen yet.
I just installed this kicker key in my 2018 Ford F150 following your instructions it sounds awesome thank you

Great job. With so many DSP options out and not enough people knowing how to properly tune a DSP kenwood did a good job by making this part pain free

I would love to do this upgrade in my 2018 F150. If I lived in Florida, I would be giving you guys a call.

How would you add a mono amp to this later on? There’s no Sub out? Would you have to splice into speaker wires later on to get signal?
I hope they answer this.
Love your vids. Have one of those, 2015 F-150. Want to add a Kicker K, what if anything needs to be done with the center speaker up at the front?
Did you hook the center speaker up before you ran the setup with the mic? I contacted kicker and they told me to unhook the center speaker run the setup and hook it back up
Do you still need the resistors with this amp for a 2024 12" ford radio

Love the video...great information!
If I add a powered sub to this setup, should I pick up the sub input from the front speakers before or after the amp? Before?
ANNNNND its gone. Looks like the Kicker key 200.4 is on unknown length back order and the harness is discontinued/unorderable now.

When I hooked mine up and tried to turn it up, I just got a lot of noise, when I run amp in reset mode, it sounds better🤔🤔
Did you say run the Tuning before you connect the speakers to the amp? So the speakers are running off the factory output?
Hello, was wondering if there's a way to connect the kicker key to a buick verano 2015 without cutting factory wires / no bose? Welp
should i convert my factory to low level input for the kicker key 200.4?
You mentioned the key eq curve that you would link to. Got the curves still?
I have an 2019 Nissan pathfinder and would like to do this. It doesn't have the Bose premium system, but the front has dash and door & the rear has door speakers. How could I set this particular amp up?
So if you already have a factory amplifier would you have to disconnect that factory amp to run the dsp?
Yes you would! That's the point of the amp. I'm going threw that today with my car.
Can someone post a link to that axxess harness please. I can’t find it
What would you suggest to use instead of the kicker key if I have the “premium “ Sony system?
Anyone add one of these to the front of a mache with the b&o? If so, tell me more about what you did and how you like it. Thanks!
So do I need any extra connectors if I have a aftermarket radio
Dean, I need t-harness for a 2022 Nissan Frontier 4 door non premium . Can you help ?
You said disconnect the speaker before the tuning? How the mic will capture any sound if there is no speaker connected?
Before tuning the gain not the mic.
Is it tuned for the driver only? If so, how does it sound for passengers. My Kenwood DDX396 can set for driver, passenger, front or all.
Driver and it sounds a normal passenger side experience, sound coming from right speaker
Will the Kicker Key compensate for bass roll-off from most factory systems?
vw atlas?
Did you guys use the stock speaker wires for the key install?
This kicker or audio control high to low with eq and dsp
I have a question, if I use the kicker key 200.4 in a 2022 GMC Canyon, which has the woofer and tweeter in parallel, will this affect the amps ability to program itself?
If using in front rear configurations no.

Yes

How does this compare with the JBL 4086 ?
The Kicker is all auto tune, the JBL is manual
