Great work! There should have been a 'Zig' battery charger in that cavity above the draining board, which could indeed charge the leisure battery when on hook-up. There was a (very unreliable) water tank level indicator there too. In the roof was a pull-out board and matress section to make the 'upstairs' bed. Happy memories!
My T25 had a sliding piece in the roof that you pushed backwards in the daytime to make head spade and slid forward to use the bed. I used to sleep in the roof bed if I was on my own to save the hassle with juggling cushions and seats downstairs. I changed the roof struts on mine and they were absolute b____ds to get in. I would keep some sort of ratchet on the inside of the pop top if there is the slightest doubt about the outside buckles (I ended up with an open top camper when ours failed). You can get some that look a bit like seatbelts.
Well done saving a great van. If you want to create a dry area you can get a waterproof shade sail very cheap and tie it up to trees, a pole or the garage.
The engine sounds so sweet. Cleaned up lovely and fantastic result with the roof 👍🏻👍🏻. My camper when plugged into the mains chargers leisure battery. When engine is running through the split charger both will charge mate 👍🏻
Seeing you clean the van up took me back to when I bought mine home and I gave it a good clean up inside and out. Good luck with the mot and well done it’s looking good
Very nice camper van. I hope your new home has got loads of space for all your projects. Maybe do a walk around showing your future plans once your settled?
Thank you 👍 hopefully! It's got a long garden that if I can get access into then it will definitely become a future workshop space!! Thanks I'll keep you updated 😄
Well done. Speedshop do the best SS exhaust. Front wipers 20” & 21”, rear 18”. Line up the spindles, then they lay horizontal. Nice & easy to work on these vans. It’ll rev high on choke so don’t worry about that, but it’ll fail emissions on choke so make sure it’s warmed first. If it still idles high, small screw on Pierburg 2E3. All about rust on these, especially rear trailing arms and footwells. Yours looks good for an ‘89. Enjoy! 🚌 2.1 L is an easy upgrade. Only need the bottom end, all the ancillaries will swap over. Loads of useful information on Club 80-90 and James Akers channel on You Tube. It was a panel van from factory, so the windows, roof cut and interior were added later. Batteries are 170mm in height.
Thank you very much lots of useful information! I really appreciate that! Rust isn't too bad there are a few bits that I would like to sort out if I keep the van! 👍
Good stuff! I used to have a diesel T25, flat out it would do about 39mph flat out, the kids were little and we had many happy holidays all over the country, we circumnavigated the coast of Ireland too, cant help feeling a twinge of nostalgia watching this. Now we've got a T5 I converted and just had 3 months on the road to France - Italy -Elba - Corsica - Sicily, looking forward to the MOT.
Good practice to throw in brand new bulbs all around. They do dim with age. The filaments develop build up from age. I had a 86 535i e28 and all the lights were dim as hell. Replaced all the bulbs and like new. All the filaments had what looked like rust
I think you have done a great job, in fact I know you have to put the time in like you have is good also to take a chance I now how hard it is I did one myself they are not new vehicles but very rewarding to work on I wish I still had mine so if you decide to sell you never know ,keep up the good work DB
What a great resurrection of a very useful vehicle, well done for taking a risk buying it as it’s really paid off. Looking forward to the next instalment!
I can’t see any reason for that to fail on the MOT - turned out to be a super clean van. Hope you get to keep it and use it. Cheap and fun weekends and vacations in one of those. If you don’t like those black accents and you think they were added, maybe try a rag with some thinners on it. The area around the windscreen looks mostly gone, anyway. If someone did it with a spray can it won’t take much getting off. I’ve removed loads of bodged scratch repairs like that. Also another tip with the DIY wiper changes - put something under the arm when you lift it up so that if you accidentally drop the arm the end of it doesn’t whack the glass and crack it. 👍🏻
Thank you hopefully I'll get some use out of it 🤞 yes It does look like a rag with some thinners on it would remove it fairly easily, well at least the front one, the sides might be a bit harder. You are completely right! I dropped one once and cracked the screen! On a lotus of all things as well 😬
Great camper to keep for yourself , having said that they have a cult following and I'm sure that you could sell it for a very good profit next spring , good job
Vans looking really good mate , how about full service and a good wash down in that engine bay too🤔 Far too nice to let go you’ll never regret keeping it 😉👍
Great job matey! Cleaned up amazing, would look better is the front were all white because that black stripe looks silly, probably rusty so changed it to black. Top channel to find.
Thank you! The agree, there doesn't seem to be any signs of rust around the windscreen, I think one of the previous owners just liked it... Along with all the stickers 🤣
Looks great after continued fettling and a good wash and some housework! Not sure the 'VDub' stickers are an MOT fail but perhaps remove them just in case 😁
I thought you said at the end, 'if anyone would like to buy a house to support the channel'. I would like the amount of space you have there & am looking to move. I'd buy your house
Haha I wish I lived there! Unfortunately I rent the workshop, no way I can afford a space like that in the south east as least haha 😂 would be the dream to own my own workshop!
Thank you, I do unfortunately I would go and see it if it was something more valuable tho as a lot of cars on there look better in the photos thank they are in real life. Copart are great at not taking good pictures of the worst parts of the cars 😂
Thank you Steven! I would normally turn them but some would have been too awkward to do up at 90 degrees, luckily I think it should be high enough off the ground to avoid and scrapes 😬
Good after noon how mutch would you sell your camper van for, when its mot,is Done..please let me no .mate .as I'm looking for one .good cash buyer. I'm Ricky clarkson .a utube as well pigs french ear

this is so good! it took like 2 years and a lot of stress to get mine to finally pass it’s mot but it was so worth it! :)

Thank you! That's a great idea! I have go and old marquee that someone gave me that I might be able to do something with.. 🤔
Fantastic wee van, and great work buddy keep her lit
Thanks, will do!
Just stumbled on your channel but love your stuff mate and I'll keep on watching for sure.
The engine sounds so sweet. Cleaned up lovely and fantastic result with the roof 👍🏻👍🏻. My camper when plugged into the mains chargers leisure battery. When engine is running through the split charger both will charge mate 👍🏻
Thanks John yes I'm sure the mains hook up should charge the leisure battery but mine isn't! There must be a fault somewhere, I'll keep digging 👍

Crikey what a turnaround. Youve got yourself a good one there... Wish my T25 was in half as good condition. You should be proud of that work buddy 👍
Thank you very much I appreciate it 🙏
Good luck with the MOT 👍🏻
Nice tidy caravanette 👍

Nice update , she’s a sweet van , best of luck with the mot 👍
Thanks 👍 fingers crossed 🤞

Would definitely be worth doing! Not an expensive way to ensure reliable lights! thank you

Cracking van 😊
👍🏴😁✌️
Your doing the right thing with van hope mot went good 😊
Thanks hopefully get it in this week 🤞
Great stuff thanks. The hookups only normally charge up the leisure battery through a built in charger. Good van.
Tested both with it hooked up and neither were charging. Think there might be a fault somewhere. Thank you! 👍

Absolutely! Hopefully I don't have to sell it before then and I can get some use out of it! Thanks john
Looks really good I think you have got yourself a good one.
Camper looks good scrubbed up well😊
Looks amazing, you have had a great result from copart, you will do well when you sell it, i really like T25s
Thank you Mike I've bought so many lemons from copart, it's nice to finally get something half decent 🤣
Sunday uploads to watch before the f1. Awesome.
Thanks Chris! F1 was a bit disappointing for McLaren 😬
@@cashmachinecars could have been better. But it’s going in the right direction.
Great stuff 👍
Thanks 👍
Good work there! 👏
Thank you! 😁
Check the fuel lines. That’s what sets these on fire 🔥.
Thank I will do!! 🔥
Great looking Vehicle and I admire your Hard work and determination. Good luck with Everything 👍👍👍
Vans looking really good mate , how about full service and a good wash down in that engine bay too🤔
Far too nice to let go you’ll never regret keeping it 😉👍
Yes I'll do a full service! Would be nice to clean the engine! Looks pretty clean under the dirt so should come up nice! Haha definitely 👌
Great job matey! Cleaned up amazing, would look better is the front were all white because that black stripe looks silly, probably rusty so changed it to black.

Very nice ,,, I’ve got 1995 transit LWB high top camper van love it ,, enjoy
Nice 👍 thank you
Superb job well done
Thank you! 👍
Great job well done 🎉
Thank you! 😃
Looking great
Thank you! Cheers!
Got yourself a bargain there😊
Great work, well done.
Great job!!
Well done 👍
Thank you 👍
One heck of a good buy, wonder what the story was about why the owner let it go to co-part
Thank you 👍Someone on here said they knew the van and the old owner died, I think that's how it got to copart
Definitely a keeper
Try sliding the roof bed forward.
Love it!!!
Lovely camper van ❤❤😊😊
At a great camper
Ok. Im new. Im intrigued. Lets see how things go.
Doubled the value by washing it!
🤣
Wow wot a transformation and the bargain buy of the year
Get rid of vdub decals they look naff
Completely agree! Next thing to Go 👌
Looks great after continued fettling and a good wash and some housework! Not sure the 'VDub' stickers are an MOT fail but perhaps remove them just in case 😁
Thank you. Haha 😂 I think they are definitely the next thing to go!
Is it a left hand drive or a right hand drive mate
Van looks good for its age….. hopefully it passes the MOT
Thank you Phil. Fingers crossed 🤞
Any update on the t5 as well?
It's still my daily driver! Unfortunately this means I don't get much time to work on it until I've got something else to drive 👍
What happened did it pass? Have you still got it?
I thought you said at the end, 'if anyone would like to buy a house to support the channel'. I would like the amount of space you have there & am looking to move. I'd buy your house
Haha I wish I lived there! Unfortunately I rent the workshop, no way I can afford a space like that in the south east as least haha 😂 would be the dream to own my own workshop!
Great videos. You need to flip the video as it’s in mirror mode. It’s messing with my left and right brain 🧠 🤣👍
Thank you! Haha yes I noticed that 🤦
@@cashmachinecars left hand drive VW Camper van! Never heard of one before. 🤣
@14:58, your driving with no planned mot, tax or insurance??
It's insured and if anyone was to call the MOT garage it was booked in the next day, can't tax it without an mot
Wow what a transformation! Best of luck for the MOT. Do you normally buy cars blind from Copart or do you go and see them first?
Thank you, I do unfortunately I would go and see it if it was something more valuable tho as a lot of cars on there look better in the photos thank they are in real life. Copart are great at not taking good pictures of the worst parts of the cars 😂
@@cashmachinecars I can quite imagine. I used to go to Arrow Motor Auctions in Redditch, a little gem of a place with approx 150 cars
Why does everyone have orange carpet to lay on when working on cars?
Nice work getting the van together. A little tip, maybe turn the exhaust clamps 90 degrees so they don't foul on speed bumps and rip the nuts off.
Thank you Steven! I would normally turn them but some would have been too awkward to do up at 90 degrees, luckily I think it should be high enough off the ground to avoid and scrapes 😬
Think you need a new speedo cable 🙄
😂 I think you are right!! 🤦
wish i could find a camper for that money....
Check out some auctions or even Facebook marketplace, the price of them is really low at the minute! 👍
I never understand why anyone works on an old vehicle before jet washing all the dirt off it, esp the engine.
great videos, but there is no need to be waving your hand around when talking 🙂
The welding alone makes this non financially viable, probably why it was for sale.
1st here!! Been waiting for this.
Thank you very much appreciated 🙏
Please remove that 'VDUB' sticker. It looks low rent.
🤣 they are the next thing to go don't worry

£600 is the price ebay sellers should be charging -not £6000 like most greedy idiots.
Let me know if you need some storage!
Nice ..chek out slaughterhouse customs shc for vw bus parts..they keep me on the road..hope helps..safe trips.
Thank you yes I've bought a few bits from them in the past 👍
Wot a difference a good wash 🧽 makes it looks like its gone from £600 to £6,000 in one clean
