I actually think her vibrato is quite continuous, but it's a very tight spin so it's not distracting. She's in "release" nearly the entire time but you only notice it when she's holding notes. Case in point, notice the very subtle vibrato on "neeever" at :50. Sorry if this sounds like word salad. Heck of a talent
Glad Laufey is getting more recognition, her combination of jazz and more modern indie/singer songwriter music is rather exquisite if I do say so myself
@@anopirsten7565 if you listen to some of her original music, you’ll hear how she finds a way to combine her love for jazz and more modern/contemporary music.
I know it isn't a huge jump, but when she hits those top Bs they are so effortless and without a hint of slide. Just boom, there, and crystal clear. Gorgeous.

no one gonna mention the sheer talent to both play an instrument and sing at the same time...especially a stringed instrument where intonation is from the player
*THIS IS LAUFFEY!* don't just listen to her here. She has a ton of music that sounds like this that she makes. She's pretty well known but isn't in the mainstream yet. Help her get there!
Met somebody once who sounded like this. She was in a jazz combo and played bass. They would solo with their instruments and then with their voice, still wished I recorded it.
As a musician, I really like this piece! Also, since I create videos as well, I know how time consuming it can be to put that moving line on the score so people can follow. Cheers mate!
Yeah, it takes a long time. I normally add the start + end keyframes so that the bar starts on the left when the score flips pages and finishes on the final frame before repeating. Then I go through and manually keyframe the middle. It's a pain when the bars have different horizontal widths or there are lyrics like here.
This is the only time I can actually fact-check your transcription because I can see the notes she's playing lol. Amazing job as always and I love the variety of music you post! Introduces me to tons of new stuff I've never heard before. Keep it goin!
Became a big fan of Laufey because of this video! And I’ve had the privilege of seeing her London show on Nov 8 2022, it was incredible and one of the best nights of my life ❤
But there is no glissando in there. Glissando is "sliding" from one note to another through all the pitches that lie in-between. This one is more of a leap, going from one note straing to another note which us far from the first one P.S. 🤓🤓🤓
Im gonna have to start crediting you with how many tunes ive been inspired to lwarn by your choice of material and your transcriptions. You have unbelievably refined taste and what you do keeps a working musician inspired. You are a gift. Thank you.

No D4 on the last chord. Cello has 4 strings ;) - edit: I’m re-listening and really hear a D4. Might be a harmonic.

Why would she drown every note in vibrato? That would be clearly stupid
@@GabriTell And yet an incredible number of singers do just that!
I mean she is using a lot of vibrato lol. It's just fast
She has that really fast vibrato that all of the old school Disney singers had in the 40s, that's part of where we get the melancholy vibes from.
This. I get a Fallout soundtrack vibe from her, too. Or a smoky, old jazz club.
Fast and steady vibratos are the most beautiful sounds to come out of a human. I’m so happy to have heard this
If I'm not mistaken, that style of singing is called "crooning"
That’s why I heard old disney vibe
