Otis is such a good pup for not nipping that biscuit. Thanks for the mini break-cation. The views you share are so different from the sonoran desert I see outside my windows.
It's Friday , interested in normal stuff ? Watch this channel. Just perfect, great camera work, two nuts and a lovely dog bobbin along the water. This channel should be snapped up like Fred dibner was , cos it's just BRILLIANT every episode. Nothing they do is a bored moment and keeps you glued to the interestingly given talk about our country. Well done yet again boys.
I agree with Chris and Mary. Absolutely brilliant. My favorite bit is of Otis sitting on his little perch while Shaun is at the tiller. Til the next time. Xo
Most canals had a headroom set in the act that allowed them to be built. A minimum ditance from water level to the underside of any bridge. The Forth and Clyde canal act did not set a limit and so when originally built all bridges had to be swing or lift so that any height of boat and mast could be accommodated. Only after the canal fell into disrepair did lower, fixed bridges get built. The new footbridge in Kirkintilloch is shaped to reflect the bow of a ship, in recognition or the towns shipbuilding heritage. And the name Kirkintilloch is, despite sounding Galic, of roman origin meaning "fort on the ridge" (I think) Thanks for these great episodes, reminding me of the times I spent cycling the canal when I lived in the area. Many happy memories.
Thank you, Colin & Shaun, for all the Research and Editing that you do for these Vlogs. I for one would never know about any of the Local History of Scotland without watching your videos. It's always a pleasure to watch the Friday uploads. Respectfully Jessiah.
Very informative and enjoyable vlog! Colin, your delivery and research really make for an interesting cruise-along. Shawn, if you haven't already done so, could you cook and demo a favorite curry recipe for us?
Never, never, never change Colin and keep the story times coming! Oh, Otis likes his perch at the back of the boat, you may want to add one to the new boat. Thanks for another interesting and informative Vlog Colin, Shaun and Otis!
Shaun and Colin thank you for the great vlog, I look forward to seeing you each week. Will your new boat have a perch for Otis, so much fun seeing him as you travel along. Thank you again. Health and safe travels
Flipping heck, I had just taken a good glug of my beer when you commented on the weight of what Shaun tried to flush down loo. I nearly choked from laughing. I should know better.
Thank you, gents, for these Friday afternoon tonics. I genuinely look forward to a 20-minute break to enjoy a cruise along the canals. It's a nice way to start the weekend. Safe travels.
Otis eyeing the biscuit was cute. Hope he got a treat for not snatching the whole thing. Another beautiful day on the canal. Interesting and entertainingly shared history by Colin. Waiting with baited breath to see what you 3 get up to next.
Hey fellas, I haven't left a comment in awhile but I just wanted to thank you both so much for your channel and these wonderful videos. I can't tell you how much they helped me during the lonelier times of the pandemic when I was suffering due to the isolation. Indeed I was watching several narrowboat channels and it made me feel freer and less confined. But you two with your good humor and generous spirits made the hard days so much better. Bless you both. Much love from Florida Laura. 🍊🤗🧡
Great Vid. My Grandpa was a cooper (barrel maker) who worked near Port Dundas at the end of the leg into Glasgow. Here's hoping you come back to do the run down to Bowling (which includes a sail through chippy and a sinking lock to get under a road. I remember back in about 1968 seeing the dilapidated state of the canal around Lock 27 (Anniesland), it was lovely seeing the canal restored to its former glory. Thanks for coming to Scotland and reminding the world that while we only have a few canals left - they are stunning in bits.
Well this is my last night away from home, and I'm back in Aberdeen. So it was great to have your company for 20 mins. Loved the vlog as always, and it was nice to see Patrick with his thistle!🤣
Hi guys another smashing video, and interesting Tails,,I really liked the tunnel with all the lights,, Colin, can you remember the name of joney brigs dog I remember the program well 🙂 Nice to see otis again as well, Look forward to your next video can't wait to see wear you go next, Best wishes to you both and of course a pat and a treat for Otis.
Hey Guys. I have looked and do not see a way to make a one time donation without a monthly thing. I do hope that I am wrong because I have watched you for well over a year now and have enjoyed going on trips with you more than you could imagine. You have introduced me to so many different things including the way Autism can effect a person "eye opener" .Thank you so much for putting yourself out there Collin. Your footage and the way you set your videos up is extraordinary and beautiful and the day will come when I will head there for a Hire Boat from Alaska and will know better what to expect. All in all thank you sooooooo much! Dale
Hi Dale, Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. It means so much. Yeah, you can support us with 'one off' donations at PayPal.me/foxesafloat Have a fab Sunday! x
Saturday morning with “the boys” has become our ritual now here in Tassie, (Tasmania). You’re part of our adopted family whether you like it or not! 😆 Another great vlog as usual😃 beautiful reflections on this one Colin and wonderful history of course. See you next week, take care🖐
Gentlemen, I must tell you that my wife and I have missed you for the past little while and were thrilled when we saw your post today. As ones who have lived in England while in the US forces and toured Scotland several times, over the past 61 years, we love your show and sincerely look forward to your next edition.
Hi Guys - Your "Scottish Tour" has been brilliant! Stunningly beautiful scenery & fascinating history! The Falkirk Wheel vlog was particularly intetesting! Can't wait to see what you are up to next! Stay well guys! xxx ❤🐕❤
Wonderful vlog! I wonder where the next adventure will be 😅😅 Yesterday, I’ve bought a pocket bully puppy and named him Rhino, however he was never wormed by the sellers and surprised me this morning with worms 😱🤢. took him to the vets today and got him wormed hopefully they should go in a couple of weeks
Hi guys. I love all your videos and since discovering your channel went back to the very beginning and binged watched them . I was wondering how about a video showing what you do AFTER you have reached your destination. Like just living. Shopping. Cooking. Exercising. Walking Otis. Etc. And how about a Foxes cookbook Shaun. Or a cookbook showing simple quick easy meals. Just my mind racing ahead. Can’t wait for next Friday.
It's all been great fun finding out about the Scottish canals, I look forward to seeing more, and finding out what you are up to next. Till the next one…
Thanks guy for all your vlogs amazing we have been watching you for a year now. We are hoping to by our own boat this year once we have sold our house. You have given us such a eye opener on life on the canal. Looking forward to your next vlog take care x
Thanks so much for the ride along. I have so loved Scotland! I must visit. Might have to hire the 3 of you for a trip in Scotland by Narrowboat. Love to the 3 of you!
Loved that thanks. I admire you Shaun putting up with those things Colin says. Having said that I nearly wet myself laughing. I so enjoyed that guys and thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Love the history of the places on your journeys that you impart to us. Thank you for doing all that homework for us. Love the three of you as well. Take care of yourselves and that precious Otis. Lots of hugs from British Columbia.
I always found myself saying to a few English folk, rather jokingly, that the Scottish are so scary that the Romans built two walls just to try and keep us out (it didn't work). 😁 When my partner moved from England to be closer to me, I did warn him about checking football games in Glasgow before heading up there, because it can get remarkably rowdy in the town centre.
Love you guys and have ever since I first caught up with you during the first lockdown. So looking forward to your next adventure. Big hugs to you and Otis. 🥰🥰🥰
I was a steward for partick thistle for a few years and honestly the home team crowd are a good bunch. The only real trouble we had was from visiting teams fans mainly Celtic and Hibernian, but at the same time it wasn’t as bad as other football grounds I did security at! Again another fantastic video from you guys! Just love these amazing blogs and how much I learn from them!! Xx
I always get anxious when you pull into a city like this. You never know what to expect and it’s not exactly like driving in on the high street, is it? Great show, guys! I can’t wait till the next one!
Binged watched the lot, we are going back to all the live questions and answers now to see if we can answer a couple of our questions 😀 then onto Britain by narrowboat. Love your Vlogs, thanks so much for the hard work, and In love with Otis ❤️xxx
Thanks so much for all the beautiful pics, videos, history lessons and stories of Scotland! I would not have seen any of it, can't afford to go to the UK. But I was an armchair visitor with you! Love your humor and OTIS 💕 Be waiting patiently for whatever is next Happy trails to you..🎶🎵
gorgeous footage - and interesting as usual - and couldn't help noticing as you approached the busier parts that you both got a big wink from the passing boat
Another great Vlog! Really enjoyed seeing the views and commentaries you bring us each week making me feel like I’m there with you… Otis leave that biscuit alone! 👍👍
Great video. Always look forward to seeing you each week 🙂 Otis and the biscuit was sweet. I love seeing him sitting near you both - he looks so proud 🙂
Having recently discovered the joy of walking towpaths and your interesting information about canals, I amm now hooked on watching more. Thanks, I will now subscribe.
Cheers from Colorado! Enjoy you guys so much! You have planted a seed. We love cruising the rivers of Europe but how wonderful and relaxing would a few week on a narrow boat be!?! Hummm….just sayin!
I hadn't realised how much closures for maintenance could affect boaters. Logical really, but tbh I feel a bit daft. Otis, I'm trying to cut out sugar atm. I feel your pain when confronted by an abandoned biscuit- well done for the restraint you showed!
Your Scotland travels have been so amazing and fun to view! Otis is the cutest and I hope he got a biscuit - he works hard!!!! Haha. Love and light to you three! 💜💗💜
Absolutely enjoyed watching this video! Masterfully edited and your choice of music was fantastic. As usual, I was sad when it came to an end - oh well, I’ll just have to wait another week 😢. Thank you so much!!

Loving the camera work, The near collision. Perfect for watching in my VR.
That's why the boat looks like it's moving slower, Shaun crapped a meteor! Just love the history you teach. Being from the US I love to learn.
😂
Aw , our little Forth and Clyde Canal Society boat "Maryhill " up the slipway at the Stables . Good footage, thanks.
Always start your videos with a thumbs up, because I know I'm going to enjoy it even before it starts. 😀

Thanks for sharing your Scittish adventures. I loved it.
Never been to Glasgow. I always thought of it as a poo hole. Never knew it had canals.
Great history.
