I don't complain about the places you missed, I'm happy about the places you went PLUS you filmed it all so I can enjoy places that I might never be able to visit. So *thank you* for that! Over the last year...two years... so much happened in my life and covid on top, I think I'm slowly going mad. I asked for help - therapy or counselling - but was told that it's not bad enough and there are too many people in really bad conditions who need the help more urgently. So one thing on my self-therapy plan are the 360 videos with a tea on the sofa, blending out the real life for a while. 😊
Another Friday and another fascinating vlog. Your blend of good humour, solid research, superb camera work and story-telling is a joy to behold. We appreciate the hard work that goes into these vlogs. Stay well you two. John, Ontario, Canada
I've fallen in love with Scotland through your vlogs. Amazing and beautiful. Those Kelpies are beyond amazing. The time lapse with them , OMG, so wonderful. Yes, Otis deserves special consideration in the design of your new narrow boat. More Scotland please.
Great episode and I can't wait for the teaser! As for what to do next, There's so much more to see in Scotland aside from the canals, most of it accessible by train. Perhaps we could get a few episodes of "Foxes on Rails"?
I loved you guys before but hearing you say, you fell in love with Scotland just sealed it. 🏴❤🏴. Feels good to see I'm not alone in this. Scotland has captured my heart. She's breathtakinly beautiful, so many places to go, so much to see, history winking at you everywhere, a dram and Orkney oatcakes with cheese and jam, Irn Bru and a roll'n square, Highland coos, beautiful tweeds and personally I'm not bored at all when a kilt comes in sight. 😉 Some of my dearest friends are Scots. Very lovely people. A bit like us Bavarians 😂😂😂. Have a great time in bonnie Scotland, stay safe and cosy, best wishes from the Alps 🙋🏻♀️❤👏
I grew up in America. We would have a thanksgiving day parade and a Christmas parade. They were always narrated by hosting celebrities of the day. However, when they would highlight a float or balloon, there would be special narration. Your style of off-camera narration ALWAYS takes me back to those days. Seriously; ALWAYS! Thank you for sparking those memories so often. 😊
Colin - You're not weird. Took my own pillow on our yearly Maine vacations for thirty years. I understand. Such wonderful vlogs from Scotland. A beautiful country. - "The Kelpies" is a magnificent tribute to all those working horses back in the day. The Scottish travel board should pay you two for all the wonderful publicity! Anxious to hear about the new boat.....
I'm spending seven weeks roaming around Scotland this spring, so I've been really appreciating your videos and your enthusiasm for the place. Although I'm not renting a narrowboat - or any boat for that matter - you've convinced me to visit the Falkirk Wheel and have only confirmed my plans to do some walking in Edinburgh along the Union Canal and in Inverness along the Caledonian Canal. Thanks for the tips!
Now that I have some time on my hands, I thought I’d look at a few narrowboat UA-cam videos, since I’d always wanted to live aboard when I was younger (out-voted 3 to 1 by wife and daughters). Watched a half dozen or so, and noticed that I was drifting towards watching Foxes’ vlogs, in preference to others (interesting though the others were). Your drone footage is stunning! Very professional vlogs. Then I watched your No 9 vlog, where you invited us to wander down a leafy glade for a chat, and discussed Asperger’s/ASD. That was so personal and real: it was as if I was there, walking with you, listening. Blew my mind. It was the best narrowboat UA-cam I’d ever watched, with not a narrowboat or canal in sight; and I was hooked. After overdosing on 180+ of your vlogs, I’ve finally caught up with you guys. I live in Yorkshire now, but I was very pleased with how you experienced Scotland, and my home town of Kirkintilloch. No matter where you go, you’ve always got something positive to say. I like that. Can’t wait to follow you on your new boat adventures. Thanks for all the effort you put in to making such entertaining vlogs. Oh! And I loved the drone view of the Kelpies!
"As when it's raining and blowing a hoolie." Know what you mean. Was driving north up the east side of Loch Ness one day one April. The grey sky sent the best squall line to make white caps across. Might have seen anything in that black tea. Won't forget it. Enjoyed a local B&B with a family in the same house for some generations. The best hospitality is found all around there.
I always take my own bedding, from our caravan, a Duvlay sleeping bag and my pillow!!! Fantastic video, thanks for show us the Kelpies, amazing. My dogs are Kelpies, they originated in Scotland when a shepherd left there in the 1700s for Australia taking his dog called Kelpie with him, the grandmother of the Australian dog today. Thank you both so much, take cake.
Thanks!!! This was great. And yes, as Dutchies, we intend to hire a narrow boat, because it is a total different way to use a boat as we do over here. But what you both showed us in all the episodes......it is impossible, as a yachtsman, not to visit the British and Scottish canals. So, in other words: T H A N K S a 1000 times.
I'm sitting here watching this with my brother, whom I care for, and he's going WoW with what you're showing..meanwhile I'm going "I've been there" & "I've been there too" and so forth...I've been to Scotland four times now, all the way up to the Orkney Isles And I've been all the way down south to Lands End...my 09 trip I went from Lands end in Cornwall all the way to John O'Groats (got the pictures to prove it, somewhere) I visited The Kelpies in 2014 when they had the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn and I remember when driving the motorway from Bannockburn to my accommodation and seeing the Kelpies loom up out of the forest surrounding them...so I was a bit stumped when you said that Princess Anne opened them in 2015..I've done the Falkirk Wheel via one of their tourist boats..I have a friend who does seasonal work for the Wheel, when he can get it, so I got a free ride through him.. if we Aussies ever get to travel again AND I can afford a 5th trip back to Scotland then I think I'd very much like to do a narrowboat cruise, only I'll need to find someone to travel with cause I don't think I could cope with the handling of a boat on my own... enjoy your extended time in Scotland gentlemen, wish I could be there too..love from stormy Melbourne Australia
Don't let ANYONE influence your decisions... yes, your vlogs of canal life are wonderful and educational and fun... but it's you two (well, three) I tune in for... yes, I was looking forward to seeing your new boat... but I look forward more to seeing YOU!!!... whatever you decide will be great as long it is what YOU BOTH want to do!!! Good luck and God speed!
I had to go back and rewatch this episode as I had forgotten some of the recommendations that you had made regarding hiring a narrowboat and places to see. I am trying to talk my daughter into taking a trip hiring a narrowboat for the two weeks tour or possibly more. I am now up to about 75 on the first part of your Vlogs. As I said previously I am trying to stay abreast of the current posts (there are so many) while trying to start from the beginning. I guess I am just going to have to binge watch to catch up to where I started at around 150 to the present. I love your Vlogs, so please keep them up regardless of what you decide for your future. They are helping me get through my grieving for my wife although I wish she were here to enjoy them also.
Definitely need to give Otis his very own throne on the new boat! Glad to see you still enjoying your visit in Scotland. Who wouldn't love Scotland? Have a lovely weekend and Happy Birthday to Shaun a couple of days early. 💖
Not giving us that teaser about the new narrowboat is almost as bad as the teaser not showing Colin’s secret cupboard in the Silverfox tour! Haha. I’m so, so glad you both loved your time up here in Scotland, even if the season was a bit iffy. I always wondered and asked about how you guys would feel about doing our (limited) Scottish waterways and the fact you both enjoyed them and (voluntarily?) spent more time up here than intended is heartwarming. It is a beautiful, if rainy and windy, place to explore. Maybe if you ever feel like coming back up you could do a tour of the islands on the west coast or even a couple of days exploring the islands in the Firth of Forth. Or hell, even Loch Lomond. Going to break it to you - Loch Lomond has an island with a colony of wallabies. You missed out 😅 Hope you had fun, my favourite relationship goals pair. 😉
I take my own pillow, always. Using a used pillow is just weird and wrong. Bring a torch? oh you mean a flashlight. Got it. Thanks you guys. love it all.
Thank you guys! I love the Kelpies and the history and tribute they represent. They are a perfect monument and I never tire seeing them! So glad you got to see them and share. Stay safe and warm! Thanks again!
So lovely to see my favourite boys again! Those wild Kelpies are nothing short of spectacular! Thank you for the wonderful photography. Scotland is so beautiful. Colin, can you say, “blowing’ a hoolie” again, and Shaun, you are so cute when you tell wayward fans, “Tough”!
Loved that as usual. Personally I see no cause for complain. I’m so glad you gonna go back to Scotland. I just love the kelpies. I do agree Otis should have his own throne. Just love your banter. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Double that for me please. All your vlogs are interesting, humorous, informative and well thought-out, as well as being beautifully photographed and edited.
You had me baffled for a minute when you suggested taking a torch. I wondered if it was for the stove. When you mentioned it gets dark early it dawned on me. What we in the U.S. call flash lights, others parts of the world call torches. As usual I enjoyed the video.
When I first saw your UA-cam Channel I thought, these two are a refreshing comedy double and its still true. I subscribed there and then because I didn't want to miss anything. That was years ago and there has been nothing that I didn't like including this one. All the best with the new build and I hope the market prices are kind to you. Cheers
The horses are absolutely stunning on video, must be amazing in person. Cant wait to see what your planning with the new boat. I'm resisting the urge to make a comment about getting new bungs.
Brilliant guys, fantastic photography at the Kelppies, one for your very very long journey list, I would like to recommend to you a while at the isle of Mull. Another fantastic place in this world to have a complete relax have a great week loads of love from the wife and I in Wemyss Bay
I take my own pillow whenever possible, otherwise it is sometimes hard to sleep with the ones provided if they're hard or collapse once you lay your head on them. I have really enjoyed these Scottish videos. Looking forward to seeing the new boat.
Oh I’m so glad you showed the kelpies I just want to say thank you so so much for showing my homeland and loving sharing the adventuring you’ve been doing 🤗🤗
What a lovely vlog! Thank you so much for showing us the magnificent Kelpies - I had a little tear when I saw them floodlit. Such a helpful guide to boat holidays in Scotland. I’ve only visited Glasgow for a Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibition and weekend (which I loved) but everything you’ve shown us looks amazing and I’m very tempted, especially the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies. I wouldn’t blame you if you stayed in Scotland for ever!
Brilliant guys you just see how much you both enjoying your time in Scotland. Can't wait for the teaser. Also missing the bloopers!!! Bring them back please lol
my wife and i done the norfolk broads in the 90's it was a very different experience for both of us .our journey started at potterheigham..and we ventured out on to the braydon waters .that was a scary day .there were massive ferries in the same chanells as we were on. all in all though it was fun..we are in Scotland buut have never done the canals up here .most were still being re opened but its something i will look into again no doubt..have enjoyed your channel since subbed ..keep up the good work..looking forward to seeing the new boat.:)
I’ve paused the blog to say thank you so much for that fabulous section on the Kelpies. They are a sight to behold, even from a tour bus on the motorway. I did not realize that when we saw them in October, 2014, that it was prior to the Royal Opening. I can’t remember if our tour guide mentioned that they were in honor of narrow boat work horses or not. Thanks, guys for that information. I have just read a Scottish Canals UK article about the entire amazing project. Back to the vlog now!
There aren't very many places I'd like to see, one place can look so much like the other. BUT, Scotland & Ireland are two I would love.... Mosty I'm afraid I wouldn't want to come back to where I call home..... VERY interesting and beautiful! Thanks for this trip!!!
I loved the video and the incredible Kelpies! I hope you return to see them from the water. I've finally caught up with you at "4 o'clock on a Friday", 11 o'clock here, after seeing an article in BBC News in December. Thanks for providing just the right amount of history, lots of laughs and the recipes!
We’ve loved all your vlogs but when we saw footage of the unmistakable A9 we were over the moon! My brother and his wife live on the Moray Firth near Lossiemouth (literally on it) and Scotland is just about our favourite place. (That’s me and my husband). If we can sell our house we’d like to move up there. I’m sat in a hospital bed having had a fairly major operation this afternoon and have really enjoyed this Vlog (on my phone and headphones on). Thank you. I grinned throughout.
Ooh cliffhanger about the new boat, you do know how to keep us on edge haha. As for you falling in love with Scotland, what's not to love, beautiful countryside and you've shown it so well. Thanks, guys. All the best Stephen 🧡
Great video, as always! So glad you've both fallen in love with Scotland; it's a very special country. Great tips about holidays on the waterways. Having done a few in my time, I can highly recommend the waterways!
Thanks Foxes for another great vlog. Ohhhh can't wait till Tuesday. I've loved seeing the Scottish waterways and would love to visit there again one day. X
Loved the Kelpies! Didn't realise the horses heads were a celebration of the horses pulling canal boats. .....every days a school day with you guys. Thanks for an enjoyable vlog. As always immaculate filming. We always used ABC boats before we gave in and bought! They are well stocked boats and reliable. Xx
I love whatever you guys feel like showing er about the canals and countryside . The extra mid week ones are like when in Christmas Day and you think you have opened all your presents you find one more under the tree. A real treat. I hope you guys find a way to deal with unpleasant comments, maybe get a moderator to delete them before you see them.
At my age I won't get to travel Scotland, but it's great seeing it thru your camera. My hubby and I always watch your vids, even if I don't always comment. I sometimes don't if I can't think of anything original or there's a ton of comments where I'm sure it would be too difficult to respond to them all so I don't want to take up your time.
I took my Mom & Dad on a Narrowboat trip from the States for their 50th wedding aniv some 15 years ago, before the internet had much info. I was lucky enough to find ABC Boats!! They took great care of us!! I hope to rent from them again!! Thanks for the Scotland trip. It's what I hope to do in the future! Stay well!!!
You guys are an inspiration! If not for your wonderful videos, humor and history my wife and I would never have had the pleasure of trying our hand at narrowboating. We went all in and rented at Falkirk as I wanted to do the wheel and then my wife wanted t o go to the Kelpies. It was so much fun and got great memories. We are now talking about doing the Caledonian Canal. Keep up the wonderful work guys!!!
So happy to see the Kelpies! I may be the only person in New Jersey with a picture of them on her refrigerator, using them as my Twitter photo and phone screen saver. This entire Scotland series has been awesome. You've inspired another visit. Thank you.
Oh yes! Stay in Scotland and show us more! Thank you for the ace pix of the Kelpies. They are magnificent, as much at night as in daylight. The drone footage was super. Some tourimg suggestion: Glasgow Cathedral, Sterling Castle, Scone Palace (crown jewels of Scotland), horse riding in the hills above Loch Ness, Culoden, Isle of Skye and Dunvegan Castle. I stayed in Inverness at a wonderful BnB called Ivy Bank and took the train and busses all over the place. Get prawn sandwiches in Inverness.
Happy, Happy Birthday Shaun!!! Now I Love Friday nights again!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love you both, and Otis, too. My husband and I had planned to do these types of trips, but he passed the year before I retired. So I can still visit with your trips. Thank you so much for including me. My love to you and Scotland, my family left Scotland in 1620, before battle of Culladon in 1763. But around Inverness was our home on my mother’s side of family. My father’s family came from England and docked at New York the day of Lincoln’s assassination in April 1865. They kept everyone on their ships that day. My middle son is pursuing going back to Scotland. We will see.
The horse sculptures are really brilliant! With all the reading I have done and all the videos I've watched I have never heard of them. Thanks so much for that! Good to see you gents, always look forward to my Friday Foxes fix. Best from a cold and snowy Central Michigan!
Thank you gentlemen, a fact, fun and news full piece of social media entertainment, at its best. It's good to know you're staying with us a bit longer. Can I just say a personal thank you for this programme, a high light of my and I'm sure, many other people's week. Please take care and give Otis a pat (or three), from me.
Thanks for another great vlog guys. Loved it, and will watch again later. Tried to send a message yesterday to say your health is the most important thing Colin and not to worry about being late with a vlog but it didn't go. Hope you are feeling better now. Take care and love to you all from us both. 💕🐾xxx
What beautiful sculptures those Kelpies are, I hadn’t heard of them before you guys showed them. I have really enjoyed your Scottish journey. Thank you, greetings from New Zealand.
Well boys you did good you really should give your self a pat on the back I could see over the weeks Scotlands history and landscape was getting to you all and you look refreshed When I did the coach tours it was like going on holiday Thanks again for the memories enjoy the next couple of weeks all the best to Otis 💕
A few years ago I visited a friend in Knoydart (Inverie) Stunning, I can't wait to explore more . Yes.. a GOLD throne for Otis!! And another fun and factual piece
Duncan James said - years ago - that the one thing touring with Blue taught him was to pack his own pillows for a good night’s sleep. So that’s what he does. So you’re in good company. If I’m taking my car, I take my pillows, otherwise they’re a bit bulky to pack 😄
Gentlemen, you delivered yet another enjoyable vlog. It's so great that you've been able to cruise the waterways of Scotland and I look forward to what you've both got up your sleeves for your next adventure. Can't wait to learn about the new boat.
I take my pillow where ever it is convenient to take it. Weekend trip by car, take pillow. Flight around the world, leave pillow. Love the Kelpies! Impressive and beautiful!
Thanks for maintaining just the proper blend of info, scenery, practical knowledge and humor. You continue to provide me with a weekly escape from the COVID-induced “prison” of not being comfortable enough to travel (or at least make plans to do so.) On to the next stop, guys, with Otis leading the way.
The time-lapse of the Horse's head was absolutely incredible.
You've discovered the fact that once one takes time to see a bit of Scotland you realise there is so much more to see.

I more and more want to be on a narrow boat. You are really selling it to me
Another Friday and another fascinating vlog. Your blend of good humour, solid research, superb camera work and story-telling is a joy to behold. We appreciate the hard work that goes into these vlogs. Stay well you two.
John, Ontario, Canada
Thank you for being here every week and bringing cheer and an upbeat attitude. It makes a happy difference in my life.
The hire companies should use you 2 as their sales ppl.
I've fallen in love with Scotland through your vlogs. Amazing and beautiful. Those Kelpies are beyond amazing. The time lapse with them , OMG, so wonderful. Yes, Otis deserves special consideration in the design of your new narrow boat. More Scotland please.
Yes, I definitely like to travel with my own pillow! For comfort and for cleanliness. Just feels better.
Great episode and I can't wait for the teaser! As for what to do next, There's so much more to see in Scotland aside from the canals, most of it accessible by train. Perhaps we could get a few episodes of "Foxes on Rails"?

Great footage of the Kelpies - time lapse whilst moving the camera - Genius. And definitely take yoour own pillows!!

Stunning, the only word that describes the Kelpies. Thank you. Ha ha my daughter in law smuggled her pillow to Rarotonga when they went for 10 days.

I take my own pillow whenever possible, otherwise it is sometimes hard to sleep with the ones provided if they're hard or collapse once you lay your head on them. I have really enjoyed these Scottish videos. Looking forward to seeing the new boat.
We take our pillows if we are able to!
Lots of good info here and looking forward to new boat news!
Oh I’m so glad you showed the kelpies I just want to say thank you so so much for showing my homeland and loving sharing the adventuring you’ve been doing 🤗🤗
Own pillow; own germs😉😉. Happy Birthday Shaun( couple days early)!!
We can only show any if there are any. Not going to invent them for the sake of it 😉
my wife and i done the norfolk broads in the 90's it was a very different experience for both of us .our journey started at potterheigham..and we ventured out on to the braydon waters .that was a scary day .there were massive ferries in the same chanells as we were on. all in all though it was fun..we are in Scotland buut have never done the canals up here .most were still being re opened but its something i will look into again no doubt..have enjoyed your channel since subbed ..keep up the good work..looking forward to seeing the new boat.:)
Another gem from the first sealords love your work lads
This journey has been our favorite and yes we travel with our own pillows
Will be interesting to see the teasers about the new boat.
Excellent and informative as usual. So pleased you love Scotland trip. we fell in love with it many years ago & spend all our holidays there now
I’ve paused the blog to say thank you so much for that fabulous section on the Kelpies.
I hope you make a quick recovery! 👍🏻
We do have a moderator 😉
@@FoxesAfloat That was quick lol. Sorry a bit of a silly sense of humor here.
We read every single one 😉
We travel all the time and we do take pillows. I have noticed some people checking into a hotel with a fan.
The one I was waiting for with the horses heads thanks lads xx
Amazing, really enjoyed this, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We went all in and rented at Falkirk as I wanted to do the wheel and then my wife wanted t
o go to the Kelpies. It was so much fun and got great memories. We are now talking about doing the Caledonian Canal. Keep up the wonderful work guys!!!
Thank you for the Kelpies, seeing them for real is mindblowing but you showing them to us is so kind. XX
brilliant thank you lads, welcome to our living room, every Friday neet…….💙💙
So happy to see the Kelpies! I may be the only person in New Jersey with a picture of them on her refrigerator, using them as my Twitter photo and phone screen saver.
This entire Scotland series has been awesome. You've inspired another visit. Thank you.
If I can't take you two on holiday, at least I always take my own pillow😍
Get prawn sandwiches in Inverness.
beautiful ,fantastic horse statues. what a sight...
Glad you’ve enjoyed your Scottish canal journeys Guys.
“Haste Ye Back”. 😊👍🏻
Fun and very interesting as always. Stay well and I’ll be waiting to hear about the new boat.
Thank you xxx
The Kelpies are magnificent!! You two are a blast!
Always take my own pillow. Scotland is a stunning place, lovely people. Thank you for another great vlog xx
The Kelpies look amazing ,lovely episode thank you
The Kelpies are just amazing.....
Our pleasure Bob 👍🏻
I like to see more of Scotland. the good and bad. So far it looks like a great country to be in.
Thanks for another great vlog guys. Loved it, and will watch again later. Tried to send a message yesterday to say your health is the most important thing Colin and not to worry about being late with a vlog but it didn't go. Hope you are feeling better now. Take care and love to you all from us both. 💕🐾xxx
Thanks guys 💙
Not sure why anyone could dislike your vlogs around Scotland! I’ve loved them all! You too, and Otis, are a treat.
Thank you thank you thank you so much for basically teasing us about information on the new boat I really wanted to find out thank you
What beautiful sculptures those Kelpies are, I hadn’t heard of them before you guys showed them. I have really enjoyed your Scottish journey. Thank you, greetings from New Zealand.
A fantastic channel nice work lads.. Hope you do more on the Scottish canals and maybe see you in Bowling sometime soon..
Well boys you did good you really should give your self a pat on the back I could see over the weeks Scotlands history and landscape was getting to you all and you look refreshed
When I did the coach tours it was like going on holiday
Thanks again for the memories enjoy the next couple of weeks all the best to Otis 💕
We did the Caledonian ten years ago from Inverness,I know I've said it before but I will never forget it.it has to be done xxx
Vv
A few years ago I visited a friend in Knoydart (Inverie) Stunning, I can't wait to explore more . Yes.. a GOLD throne for Otis!! And another fun and factual piece
Duncan James said - years ago - that the one thing touring with Blue taught him was to pack his own pillows for a good night’s sleep. So that’s what he does. So you’re in good company. If I’m taking my car, I take my pillows, otherwise they’re a bit bulky to pack 😄
Arria by Andy Scott next to the motorway in Cumbernauld is stunning as well.
Gentlemen, you delivered yet another enjoyable vlog. It's so great that you've been able to cruise the waterways of Scotland and I look forward to what you've both got up your sleeves for your next adventure. Can't wait to learn about the new boat.
What's the wind like round the Trossochs? Do the thermals help? Asking for a friend! 🤔🤭😀
That depends on .......
I take my pillow where ever it is convenient to take it. Weekend trip by car, take pillow. Flight around the world, leave pillow.
Love the Kelpies! Impressive and beautiful!
Otis absolutely needs a throne!
