Perhaps even moreso than the hipocritical religious zealots he so beautifully mocked. Go look up on youtube for a documentary on his life. He was a great man, much loved and still sorely missed by many.

Dave Allen is the bomb. So funny. Never found out how he lost the tip to his left forefinger, though he teased the audience so often with 'explanations'. Very very funny man.
He was still respectful of other peoples religion, and very funny
I very much doubt it. I'm sure he was respectful of people's right to believe whatever they want but it's impossible to truly respect nonsense.
chris marshall Yes, and he used to finish....and may YOUR God go with you. Can't see how that can upset anyone
Grew up watching Dave Allen..Absolutely fkn adore him..well did...Rewatched all his stuff over and over and over again.❤️❤️❤️
I really enjoyed and shared in your laughter. Dave Allen was a genius and much missed.
Great fun! You explained the adultery joke just in time for him to say "Shut Up." My favorite joke of the bit.
Honest review devon... nice one👍 Love dave.. watched him as a kid... still funny now😂
Keep the vids coming 👍
Nice to see someone reacting to Dave Allen, thanks man!
If you look up Dave Allen, look up "Dave Allen At Large". That was the name of his original show. I used to watch it as a teen on PBS. Even then it was repeats. (I'm 52.) So he was probably more of a '60s comedian.
Also notice that the first 2 knuckles on his left hand are missing. You now cannot unsee it. :D
@@verbalkint98 He actually made a joke one time, because he was always sitting in his chair drinking scotch while he did his monologue. He said that he dipped it into the glass so long that it rotted off!
And, CHEERS!
webfox1 same here dude! he was part of a british trifecta of shows that came on saturday nights (not sure i'm all the way accurate. it's been a minute): dave allen at large, monty python and doctor who. simple times they were
Dave Allen never told anyone how he lost that finger tip. Not even his kids! He used to make up different ridiculous stories about it instead. 😀
@@samanthanickson6478 Do you remember tv sets with two dials, and the bottom one had "U" marked so that you could change the UHF channels on the top one? Does anyone remember black and white TV?

Very well indeed, I was about 8 when we had our first (405 lines) B&W TV.
I also remember our first colour TV, I sat and watched golf for about an hour, and I have no interest in golf at all! I was about 15.
My Dad was a Catholic and my mum was a Protestant. Both of them loved Dave Allan. He showed what is the true madness of religious beliefs. RIP Dave, and as you used to say at the end of your shows." May your God go with you.".
Dave Allen's first major success was in Australia where he had his own TV show in 1963/64. (He would have been 27) I remember watching him at the time. He was extremely popular. After this success he returned to the UK and being a man with great talent his success continued with more TV shows etc for many years.
I knew about him, forgot about him and have now been reminded about him, thanks to you, good sir. Thanks!
Saw Dave Allen live in London once. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe anymore & nearly found it what it meant when people say they "nearly died laughing". He was hysterical!! 😂🤣😂🤣
No one spins an hilarious yarn quite like Dave Allen - he is greatly missed!
I had the great delight of seeing Dave Allen live once. Took about three days for my ribs to stop hurting from laughing so hard.
The world today needs a Dave Allen
I am so glad that I was able to watch Dave Allen on TV as a kid, he was amazing!
Dave Allen was very popular in 70’s and 80’s I was only small but my dad loved him. Famous Irish comedian. This brought back very happy memories. 🤗💕😂
