My late husband & I saw Dave Allen when we were on holiday in Jersey early 80s. He was in the middle of one of his religious bits when there was an almighty thunderbolt outside his reaction was priceless we were in hysterics. Great man & yes definitely much pleasanter than George Carlin!!
George Carlin was one of the best Americans that has ever lived 35 years ago he was trying his best to tell Americans about the shit show that was coming.
So many great comedians to choose from , Dave Allen was one of the greats . There is one name though you have to check .... Sir Billy Connolly 🙂 . National treasure.
I watched these on British tv at the time they were out. He'd be on at about 10pm on a Saturday night and i used to go home from the pub to watch him. That's how good he was there was no catch up tv in them days.Great man.
@Hereandthere andnowinyourface He got it wrong? I didn't understand? The term/phrase "History never gets old" is a long standing and rather well known pun. It's a clever play on words, but also happens to be perfectly correct... meaning there is always something NEW to learn about history that can be applied today. Oh dear. :(
@Hereandthere andnowinyourface You're so adorable when you get angry. Please type an epic rant that I might read and have a chuckle over, but never respond to.
It is great that you have discovered Dave Allen. A big part of my childhood, when there were almost nothing on tv. He was such an amazing storyteller. Check out "Drunks" f.i. Cheers from Italy.
🇬🇧 ive been in tears laughing at you laughing at some of our best loved Brit comedians! I also loved Dave Allen & have lots of his shows on disc. You ought to listen to his ghost stories.. they are brilliant when the lights go down & hes cast in eerie shadow with his menacing voice ..its so good but i wont spoil any endings... 😟 I once met Dave Allen in a hotel i was staying in & just having a nightcap in the hotel bar & i just raised my glass to him & said Sleinte ( Irish = Cheers) & before long we were chatting like old pals swoping jokes & funny stories & believe me, not a nicer chap could you meet, very genuine & being a young lady at the time & on my own, the bar vertually empty it never entered my head to be cautious, there was never that gut feeling like i could get set upon Women always know about these things, at least i always trusted my gut I left to go to my room, weak kneed because id laughed myself dizzy...great man. Same with Billy Connolly, have you heard his sketch about the young guy with incontinence trousers? You will DIE laughing - Promise Also his Wilderbeast sketch 😆 Thank you for these vids, you & yr wife are a tonic, i laugh more with you both than at the footage you show. Be Blessed & keep safe & sound Im just about to sub to your channel 🇬🇧👧
A female workmate told me when she was run over as a kid. She sustained some injuries and was ok a few days later. The Doctor told her that if she had seen the car coming at her, her injuries would have been more severe as she tensed up. That's true, so perhaps with the threat of a plane crash you should just continue reading your book/brochure?
Really enjoying your blog...I'm a Brit and grew up with Dave Allen...have you noticed he's missing a finger...he tells a joke about how he lost it...if you can find that and show it, that would be awesome And as for dave reminding you of the great and late George...for me there is nobody funnier than George...maybe Robin williams....but george had a calmer delivery than the manic pace of Robin....miss them both terribly....the world is a less happy place without them
I like the Mike Reid story about flying (similar to this). "In the event of an emergency landing, place your head between your legs"... "...Listen love, if I could put my head between my legs, I wouldn't have left the house this morning"
I'm going to Greece 🇬🇷 in September too - Kefalos in Zante - love British 🇬🇧 history 👍👍👍 Another video for you to see if you haven't already is Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes
Watched your channel and enjoyed the Videos of pub landlord especially Britain being world war champions..haha. I grew up watching and loving Dave Allen, he was a real true comedian. This post he still makes me cry laughing. Have you checked out Dave Allen teaching his kid to tell the time, it is hilarious. Thanks for sharing this. Great channel keep them coming. Here in UK our sense of humour is crazy. Just noticed, saw your take on him teaching time, my stomach is aching.
Great reaction, nice to see you appreciate one of our best ever comedians. Dave Allen and Billy Connolly are the greatest story telling funny guys from these islands IMHO.
It's never too late to be a teacher, at least in the UK. When I was doing teacher training in the mid 90s, there was a guy on our course who was in his 50s who managed to get a job teaching when he qualified. I, too, was classed as a mature study, because I'd worked in other jobs for about 8 years. The main thing is you must love your subject. If you do, the kids pick up on it, & they both respect that & also take your subject more seriously. It's a fantastic career. I miss it: I had to take very early retirement due to ill health, & I'd give anything to get back to it again.
Recently came across your channel and loving it. Has a Brit i love comedy so I have a recommendation for you. king of the one liner,s Jimmy Carr this dude will make you cry.
Love Dave Allen since I was a child and my dad would make us all watch it, it’s his Irish intelligent delivery and the glass of whiskey and a cigarette in hand, like you say Old School 👍🏻 Please do his Teaching The Clock it’s so so funny and the way he chats to his imaginary child 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for doing the reaction, glad you liked it. Keep the reactions coming. Just quick note, if yyou use headphones it improves the sound quality of the video you are reacting too.
Hi my friend, I really enjoyed that and you can't beat a bit of dave Allen i grew up watching him over the pond here, I've just subscribed and looking forward to catching up 🍻🙏🙏🙏
Dave Allen a great comedian on tv, saw him live in London and almost every other word was a swear word, which in my opinion did not work for him, he was so funny without swearing.
I have always felt the UK has the most and best comics because of the weather , as we need to laugh , as you would cry all the time if we didn't have them in abundance
The plans sound great, Boomer. So happy to hear you get & join in with the mickey taking of each other. You really are part of the group now. Have a great one & great reaction
I appreciate the posts. A bit of old-time, and sometimes not but still entertaining videos. Not too long, with a bit of your own humour thrown in. Given mainstream media is now so boring I like this kind of material. I know you are making a living, but make sure you balance it right with family life. My Thanks.
Hi King Boomer - I'm loving your channel and your reactions. From a historical point of view, you might want to consider reacting to "Women: Know Your Limits!". (It's a parody of the old black & white public information films that used to shown in movie theatres, in the era before everyone had TVs in their homes). If you do decide to react to this, then I totally recommend you have your other half next to you. You'll love it. She will love it!!! You'll both love it!!!
"If Lessons Of History Teach Us Anything It Is That Nobody Learns The Lessons That History Teaches Us." On a side note if you go on holiday to Greece, the islands are in my humble opinion far better than mainland Greece. The last time i travelled there i ended up in Lefkas (Lefkada) where the locals at one time were well paid by Aristotle Onassis to not attract tourists so as to keep his beautiful island of Skorpios as private as possible. He also employed many on the island who were taxi'd by boat to Skorpios. Truly beautiful especially the less tourists there are.
Hey look out on UA-cam for the cheese rolling competition over here. You will know it when u find it. Nutters basically chase rolls of cheese down an almost vertical hill. Totally dangerous and hysterical to watch. Love your enthusiasm . Thanks for your reactions. 😁🇬🇧💕🇺🇲
Dave Allen was an Irish Catholic, who often took the mickey out of religion, and sometimes drank a glass of whisky on stage. Without a doubt he was Ireland's finest, and is sadly missed.....
Going to Greece eh? Good for you! As a history tutor of Classics (in the UK), I'll look forward to stuff you could produce on Greek or Roman history !!
The funniest thing ever Ive seen on British TV was when Ant and Dec did the blindfold test on Celebrity Juice. 100% you wouldn't see it on American TV. A must watch to see your reaction would be a picture!
I grew up watching Dave Allen and many others. Try and find Jasper Carrott and Mike Harding. Both are extremely funny observational comics. As you don't like flying try and find an after dinner speech called "What goes up might come down" by Dave Gunson. Think it is audio only but I am confident that it will make you laugh. Another British comedy classic is " Four candles by the two Ronnies
We have quite a few great comics in the UK, both male and female, some like Dave who are no longer with us, but have left a lot of work on TV around. Sir Billy Connolly, Sir Ken Dodd, Victoria Wood, Dame Julie Walters, Dame June Whitfield, Frankie Howard, Kenneth Williams, Bob Monkhouse, Jimmy Tarbuck, Sir Bruce Forysth, French and Saunders, Freddie Starr, Jim Davidson, Spike Milligan ( part of the Goons) John Cleese ( part of Monty Python) too name but a few
HI Boomer... Love watching your reaction to our great comedians...Have a look at the UK Prison sit com, called Porridge... porridge was a name used for prison or the word Stir eg... he's done 3 years porridge or 3 years in Stir. The main character is Ronnie Barker who was once part of a comedy duo called the "Two Ronnies" he wrote a lot of his own comedy sketches. I used to work in a prison and when the old re-runs of the series came on TV they would actually ask to be locked in their cells early to watch it (thank goodness for that )
Hey Brian, if you love history and are going to Greece in September, why not do some history videos on Greece, at least before you go? It will definitely help make your vacation that much more enjoyable too
The reason for going in to crouch position is so people could be identified from their teeth after a crash. Crouch position prevents people's teeth getting smashed. The idea of being strapped in a pressurised sardine can 7 miles high at mach 2 and tonnes of fuel is daft.
I subscribed because of you watching British humour ! , you should look at doing places in the UK ! , if you've never been here it might shock you just how beautiful an island we are !! , Im a Yorkshire lad from Scarborough , keep it up good content so far apart from the boomer thing !!
I remember been laid in bed listening to my dad watching this guy just In hysterics now I know why. Specially the religious jokes been a Catholic made them funnier RIP Dave Allan
Please react to Mickey Flanagan, Delhi Belly. Another UK(English) comedian and a absolute hysterical take on one of the pitfalls of travelling abroad. You won't be disappointed and will love it. Keep reactions coming, your doing great. 👍🇬🇧😁
Old school comedy, I think is more intelligent. Dave Allens comedy is good because there a lot of realism in it. Billy Connolly is the same. Years ago we had Jasper Carrot (not his real name) and he would do jokes in story form too.

I can’t believe you are flying over Gods own Country (U.K.) to go to Greece, instead of visiting us first! You should watch Mickey Flanagan’s “Delhi Belly” stand up - hilarious! Peter Kay is another U.K. comedian you may enjoy. Also Catherine Tate’s “Nan” character is also very funny.
Check out Victoria Wood, who passed away unfortunately, a very funny lady. She did a lot of stuff with Julie Walters, another very funny lady. Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are hilarious separately and together.
Dave Allan is a Legend
Dave Allen is a class act.
Love your reactions and your laugh is addictive.
Carlin was a God...one of the greatest, wisest comedian who has ever lived. We really need him, now more than ever. RIP George
He made a living in the UK and from there the World, but Dave was Irish.
You'll never be out of work as a History teacher, there's a lot of it and it never gets old
Nice one 😂
My favorite comment of the day. :)
@@muninraven3327 Forget it Munin, he's irony impaired

I once met Dave Allen in a hotel i was staying in & just having a nightcap in the hotel bar & i just raised my glass to him & said
Sleinte ( Irish = Cheers) & before long we were chatting like old pals swoping jokes & funny stories & believe me, not a nicer chap could you meet, very genuine & being a young lady at the time & on my own, the bar vertually empty it never entered my head to be cautious, there was never that gut feeling like i could get set upon
Women always know about these things, at least i always trusted my gut
I left to go to my room, weak kneed because id laughed myself dizzy...great man.
Same with Billy Connolly, have you heard his sketch about the young guy with incontinence trousers?
You will DIE laughing - Promise
Also his Wilderbeast sketch 😆
Thank you for these vids, you & yr wife are a tonic, i laugh more with you both than at the footage you show.
Be Blessed & keep safe & sound
Im just about to sub to your channel 🇬🇧👧
I love your genuine reactions xxx the football chants you reacted to....the first two chants about Adam Johnson came from my team and our fans lol

The fact the black box is indestructible means that if the plane emergency lands, they're not expecting it to be in a good condition. Lol
Mainly to make sure it survives, also why do they call it a black box when it is clearly orange
Really love your stuff.
Yes Kingy! Trust me keep goin i love your stuff mate. Will try to throw a few suggestions your way lad! Respect from Manchester!
King - you always cheer me up. Have you seen The Two Ronnie's- four candles?

I agree. React to this one.
Old school comedy, I think is more intelligent. Dave Allens comedy is good because there a lot of realism in it. Billy Connolly is the same. Years ago we had Jasper Carrot (not his real name) and he would do jokes in story form too.
Look on Dave Allen on religion or supermarkets. Great channel. 😁
